Most recent work. The rest of the trim chicken will be much later but had a spare couple of hours and wanted a break from infractor spam.

Still need to do the eyes and maybe give the flames a yellow or black wash havent decided.

Looks dead in the water for me. How many 40K or Sigmar fans will buy this? How many computer RTS games fans will buy an army? How many stores will have tournaments for this game? I don't really see this as being anything more than a niche product that won't have a major audience unless Blizzard is willing to invest massive infusions of cash to promote the game. This is a hard sell for anyone but the most diehard Starcraft fans.

It's certainly an ambitious start. But they probably should have done another board game or a card game.

There's more discussion of it in the tabletop community watch thread. But they fucked themselves with pricing for retailers apparently leaving them with little margin(aka, incentive to stock and push the product). And like any other licensed game, it's got a limited number of releases until it hits a brick wall, but unlike Marvel with decades of variants of hundreds of characters, Starcraft doesn't have that luxury as a license.

Also, something like this should have been done 15 years ago when Starcraft still had an audience. Not when the franchise has been dead in the water for a decade.
 
Honestly some models look cool, but as the others said, I doubt Starcraft have enough fans who are into Tabletop for it.
Just sell the models without a tabletop.

Part of me is hoping they release more terrain just so I can continue my “not give GW a cent” boycott. Zerg stuff would be neat to set up as nid biomass.

But overall I figure it’ll capture chud hammers and woke hammers as fans. One as dissent over GW and the other to continue to work their way into ruining tabletop hobbies. And it does have a bonus with Confederates being a lore accurate faction. And it’ll all be buried and forgotten in a few years

Overpriced collectors piece/shelf warmer. It's going to sell ok to the SC fans, Koreans, and tabletop tourists but beyond that initial wave I expect it will peter out quickly both in sales and interest. I'll explain why but if you don't want to read it go to the TL:DR

It's somehow both over and under developed. The model range and sculpt quality are great for a new game. Hell even the website seems like it had thought put into it. But the rules are bare bones and designed for quick casual play, brainless in some ways. In an attempt to make a TTWG that is as comfortable on the shelf at target as it would be at an LGS it's going to be a miss with both crowds. It's too expensive to compete with target casual OBTT, 40k and battle tech have boxes around $30/40 at Target, but it lacks the depth and range to pull in 40k and TT whales from a LGS. It's like a passion project that got micromanaged by the accounting department so all the money went into 'crunch' of the game and none of the 'fluff'.

TL:DR it's overpriced collector models that don't have much appeal outside the SC community. It's a game that's all flash and no substance and it'll probably be dead on arrival with support ending in about a year.

I feel like Jarek, the guy that owns Archon games, can go fuck himself with a salted cactus.

He was behind the old AvP game that still hasn't fulfilled kickstarters half a decade after their license expired. So he changed the company name and launched archon.

When him and Rob Baer tried to hype off his (wildly out of scale) not krieg models, I pointed out they intentionally left off *all* the detail bits to try to make Jareks shit look better. When he saw this he personally DMed me to rant and rave and threaten me (ironically something Rob Baer has also done)

Fuck him (and fuck Rob baer)
 
I love SC but i cant see myself getting much if any. I have enough 40k and AoS to last me.

Everything is similar enough to 40k to be a cool proxy but not sifferent enough to be its own thing.

No shit, its an IP rip from years ago.

I might get 1 of every zerg unit for a collectable but not likely. What I am interested in is terrain. SC has buildings that play a core part of the game. Theyre iconic. If they sold terrain of the buildings they could make money. GW sell terrain but its just 'X but make it Grimdark'.

The buildings in game are great and I hope they release some for terrain. I wouldn’t mind a command center or starport. So far it looks basic. Terrain is just lost temple walls with an obelisk, banner, plants, and a vespene geyser. And no ghost models (I liked ghosts and nukes). Probably better to get some 3d printed ones if I really want it.

Oh well back to figuring out more terrain for Kill Team.

Because GW needed to make their buttplug painting handle cheaper(to manufacture, likely not tl sell), they're apparently replacing it with a friction fit version that they claim is "study" and totally won't just wear out quicker than the springs in their previous handle..

The 'old' ones are actually pretty good. The springs might wear but i swear by them.

I have a few I printed and its still old reliable. Doesnt need some weird twist system, no magnets or bluetack.

I might buy an extra before theyre gone.

There's some printed designs that just use rubber bands, easy enough to adjust the tension for something like that and just replace 'em. But yeah if you actually liked the previous ones it seems they updated the article from this morning at some point with an asterisk
