I feel like that doesn’t really make sense in 40k. There isn’t that much sexism in the Imperium. There are sex segregated institutions, patriarchal and matriarchal societies, but neither sex is viewed as inferior.

This happens in every nerg sphere, but it really tickles me with warhammer, where nerds will get hung up on some absolutely retarded detail. I was listening to some goons complain that the Catachan folk should be short and only have a natural life span of like 30 years because of thr strain on their bodies. As if evolution over 10+ millenia wouldn't have fixed any of these issues.

Psykers? No problem. Space Marines? You bet. A planet of people who've adapted to the hellhole environment over countless millenia? Now that's just too outlandish.

I think it's weird it would need to be stated outside of actually giving examples or as part of an actual story. Like I'd assume every form of discrimination and mistreatment takes place in the Imperium, and this is such a given, that it doesn't need to be said.

I officially gave up even trying to excuse away the Ultramarine crap when they announced the Blade Champion for the Custodes and literally the same day they released a Blade Champion for Ultramarines that immediately went to Legends.

How did Family Guy put it? "Equal Attention Cake?"

I generally dislike calling out bad paint jobs but GW really need to stop handing out models to just anyone with a YouTube channel/ podcast. The turquoise custodes do look very good and the basing scheme really makes them pop.

I didn't even post the worst one.

Here's the turquoise guy Colin's take on the tank, alongside some others. Pretty good. Faux marble, dust accumulation, what have you (bonus, an Ultramarinecustodes which I think is them taking the piss out of GW and GW not getting it, as well as more of Colin's verdigris custodes):

To the surprise of no one the new black library app is fucking horrible. Some highlights include:

  • The current front page is just the free books, new releases (half of them sequels) and four buttons for each of the settings.
  • Out of the four settings only 40k is fully implemented. There you can select specific series. Meanwhile in AoS you can only select Gotrek while OW and HH you can only see all the books in the setting.
  • The all books gives you a bunch of haphazardly picked books and short stories. The first thing that showed up in the OW section was skavenslayer, in german.
  • By default all languages are shown, you need to change it in the settings.
  • The reader itself is very basic. You can choose one of five fonts, change the size and that’s it really. You can’t pick infinite scroll or anything. No chapter select either you have to use the one in the ebook itself. It’s also permanently set to dark mode. No other themes. If you like to read before bed then fuck you no warm colour.
  • The books themselves are the exact same as the ones from the website, complete with advertisements and whatnot.
  • You can’t take those ebooks and use the far superior ebook reader that came with your phone as well, you’re locked in the shitty app.
At least for now they still sell at other vendors but who knows for how long.

The seams across the top of the guns. The huge gouge in the paint along the edge trim next to the right(it's right) gun, the awful looking "glow" affect on the side exhausts and top of the turret. The orange peel texture from the gloss varnish. Lack of wash in some areas, like the canisters on top but still somehow managed to get wash on the front right one at the base. The gold smeared onto the hull next to the cockpit hatch. The shitty armor inside edge paintjob on the front pontoon(can't think of a better word), The gigantic fucking seam across the top of the right pontoon. The purple smeared across the rib of the left pontoon. All while managing to somehow make it look like the tank has been wrapped in denim.

I fucking hate this. This is the level it takes to get free product early from GW and get your shit posted in a warcom article?

edit: Even the decal on the front hatch is off-center
 
I don't see a problem with a normal tabletop style paint job that isn't perfect. It shows what models actually look like instead of someone spending 200 hours on a single unit for display purposes.

That turret is clearly not done and the varnish has a fingerprint in it.

All the problems with 40k started when they got rid of Doomrider. If only they would bring him back.
 
its a shame because i actually like the new custodian guard but like.... im not replacing all my fucking custodes. and the ugly ass heads arent a selling point.

No terrain, unpainted bullshit, "been playing for 10 years" is relying entirely on the brand new looking paper mat from the AoS fire and jade set that came out last summer, image only taken during deployment so the entire thing looks like it was all setup as props rather than showing anything mid-game,(which they did do in a later post, but still, the whole thing reeks), the posting just while happening to be playing, but after deployment, and being too busy but not too busy, needing to re-post the same image multiple times...

That post and the one about playing for a decade were within 2 hours of eachother.

Has also posted multiple images of their models over the past few weeks, I'm not seeing a single image where the models are actually done. Posting screencaps of other people's batreps for some fucking reason. Looked like they had painted models in some thumbnails but it was just TTS. Found a post from a month ago showing deployment playing the Halo tabletop game, again unfinished models... christ you only have 4 models in the game, Found another post earlier in Febuary... didn't even finish building the fucking models for their custodes army and again unpainted models with no basing

What is even this postioning in this 1500 point game? They've left 1/3 of their army(the 2 custodes tanks) completely in the open to literally the entire guard army except for the rogal dorn closest to the opposite edge... but that can shift 2 inches over, peek, and fire. Even the telemon on the right just has it's ass out in the wind to get destroyed. Especially if it goes for the right objective by itself. I guess the 2 units on the tray must be in deep strike? But that still makes no sense to leave everything else exposed at the start of the game.

This is what I mean. If you've got experience, you can just look at this stuff and know something isn't right. It's like they've posed their models for a picture, not actually set anything up to play. The whole thing just smells of bullshit.
 
I dont think its hard to have at least 1 painted army in this hobby. Even with a FT job, wife, kid and other interests, I still managed 3k points of Custodes plus beautiful palace bases in almost a year last year. On top of all the other random shit I painted for fun.

This guy has been involved 10 years, surely should be floating 3 full armies by now. More if he has marines or other simple to paint armies. Terrain should also be painted but i care less about that.

If i was into 'thing' for 10 years I'd like to have something to show for the time and energy that went into 'thing'. Embarrassing.
