Anyone here ever play space hulk? I still have my 90s box. That game was a shitload of fun.
Nope, but I did play Space Crusade on Amiga.
Websites would be Bell of Lost Souls and Spikey Bitz. Specific people would be ArchWarhammer since he is one of Sargons capos and mention his name anywhere it devolves into a shit flinging contest.
Dakkadakka?

Dakkadakka?

Not sure, it was pretty good for meta lists and discussions back in the day but the last thing I seen someone kick up a stink about was someone posting a based stickman guard figure. There was also the salt mine regarding the ITC tau nerf in 7th edition to stop Piranhas spamming drones.
Then again I only look at 40K list and tournament discussions these days so I’ve probably missed something huge.

spergs wise there is that lot r/SIGMARXISM which is about what you would expect from the name alone, all about 'reclaiming muh hobby from fascists' and sperging about that commissar gamza fella, spikey-bits/bell-of-lost-souls comes to mind for mostly clickbait shit, but there was something a while back bout the guy himself but hell if i can remember that far back.

I used to watch Arch when I was first learning about Warhammer Fantasy, but I just got bored with his constant hot takes and his 2014 level anti SJW sperging. When he stays on topic his videos are very thorough and good to watch.

I think his lore stuff is really good, and he goes into great detail about some things like The Wars for Armageddon or the Siege of Vracks. He's much more long form than some of the others. But year, avoid anything else of his.

is there a version for tabletop sim?

There is a community for it, last I checked it was based around Discord.

This thread will have kiwis more versed into it, I loaded in some armies a while ago, was interested in seeing if I could play with a Raptors army, but kinda lost interest before I really learned how.

I'd imagine running space hulk works be easy compared to running modern 40k.

I played it a bit, the first edition, bought the second but never did anything other than play a few times. I have the box and have considered painting up the units with it. Some months back, Nick Reiketa talking about it got me keen to start painting again, which I may do. It was a fun game as I recall, you couldn't see the aliens until they attacked you, right? They were just scanner blips moving behind the walls/under the floors/across the ceiling like in the movie Aliens. Really a cool implementation of fog of war.

That's right, there was a lot of tension for the imperial player which was really unique for a miniatures game when it was released.

GW was pretty innovative there during the 90s with standalone games like that and gorkamorka, necromunda, heroquest, space crusade, etc.

Heroquest was one of my favorite boardgames too.

I guess I have a reason to finish my Necron army now, but I wish they'd introduce new army units and not just named characters.

I keep wondering if they're going to resurrect the Necron Pariahs in the last PA book, since, you know, it's called Pariah, and they're bringing in long-absent or never-before-represented characters such as Ephrael Stern and Szarekh. Wouldn't be entirely out of place.

I just went on eBay and snagged the newest copy of Space Hulk. What the fuck is wrong with me???

I'll see if anyone is still doing mini painting services anywhere; I'm old and have tired eyes, I doubt I can get thru my set much less a second on the way set.

(BTW @Twinkletard I blame this conspicuous expenditure on you)
