Satire doesn't need to be funny. The setting is satire, it taking itself seriously internally doesn't make it not satire. Rule of cool grimdark nonsense doesn't make it not satire.
Warhammer 40KS never been satire whatsoever. According to Rick Priestley, the creator of Warhammer 40K and everyone who originally created the setting.
As a radar and a tabletop game designer, people saying your work is satire when you never intended it to be so, or fucking retarded. One more person says Death, the author, which is an idea created by an annoying faggot Dutch communist who is too much of a bitch to find a World War Two.
I trust the world of legendary game designer. Who is in a complete douche quickly over the opinion of ridiculous homosexual? Faggots. Who make up some of the Warhammer community.
That's unironically how and why a lot of humans willingly join the Tau.

"Hey, are you tired of getting treated like shit and told its because the Emperor wills it? What if I told you there was another way? A way that didn't involve selling your soul to the Warp. Sounds too good to be true, but I assure you, its not."
Then you join them and you're still treated like shit because you ultimately someone who doesn't have any useful skills to offer them.
I see the book long shot where those massive slums around the really nice. Point of the city. They take over and still treat the people like shit.
But not the guides men. Betray the Emperor.
Also, all the announcements are fucking awesome. For once, GW isn't doing stupid shit. I guess it must be a day ending in Y.

chicks kicking ass is fine so long as they actually look the part
Historically, nomadic tribes in hazardous biomes were more overprotective of their women, not less, as it was already dangerously hard to sustain a population.
making them smooth operators/courtiers capable of political intrigue just isn't it.
They're superhuman envoys of the Imperium's living god, they might not be the best with words, but still command obedience.
there's really no way to make the Terminus Decree make sense.
Well, if Big E is off the throne, then it is possible the daemon problem has been solved and the hyperspecialised zealous Grey Knights aren't worth the cost or risk anymore. Ordering them on a suicide mission to the throne would tie up that loose end.
Alright so Im basically on a Tau Binge and ive been enjoying it immensely .
You'd enjoy The Greater Evil too. It features a Mechanicus planet with a bug infection trying to join the Tau. None of that bullshit with Kroot sniffing out anything.
Deathwatch is a good choice, I wonder what they'll use for abilities/'willpower' since they aren't psychic.
didn't Three Kingdoms outsell WH3?
The base game outsold WH2 at release, but DLC sales were terrible.
My scepticism towards TW:40K is mainly due to it releasing on consoles alongside PC, whilst I've heard CA did a decent job with the Halo RTS, TW is on another scale.

WH40k is in a weird position of trying to be more positive to sell better to the masses, but still must be grimdark so whatever steps forward are countered, getting stuck in a weird limbo.
That Deathwatch game will at least let you genocide the Tau, which is always fun to do.

Deathwatch looks fun, I did enjoy Chaos Gate despite some of its rough edges, DoW4 looks nice and glad it has the crusade gameplay back, TW40k Im hopeful but ye skeptical about it. Kinda surprised they didnt announce any new 40k FPS games

Rynns World
I can't engage with these books because it always reminds me of this

I've warmed to the idea with recent lore that the Emperor is destined to become the Dark King, sort of like the Human version of Slaanesh as being the manifestation of the species' worst traits, and that the endless sacrifice of psyker souls is the only things sating him enough to keep that awakening from happening. The new Terminus Degree lore makes sense if this is true, as it would be like a final Hail Mary if the Emperor woke up and ascended. Sure the Grey Knights would be almost certainly committing suicide, but given how fucked Humanity would be if they failed, it would be worth a try anyway.
