It's no different than the people still supporting Activision/Blizzard after Blitzchung and the CA lawsuit. Or people super woke Supporting Star Wars/Marvel/Disney after Disney thanking the part of Chinese Gov running the Concentration Camps. Westerners are all hypocrites its just how much of a hypocrite they are in the end.
Disney began to lose money after screwing over the SW fanbase. Disney now is a weakening beast, closing shops left and right, while their beloved MCU is fizzling out. Activision Blizzard is losing fans and players fast, and many of their old fans swore off buying future Blizzard games for good.

Games Workshop has been getting richer per year. Even with the fans continuing to buy, that should have just kept their profits steady, instead, it's been growing exponentially.

You're adding words that I never said. The people who come out on every release and shit on it and say how they're moving to bolt action are an extremely vocal minority. You look at people like the outer seethe and he is actually on the money with most of his complaints, but at the end of the day he just wants to play the game. Most of the community does indeed just want to play their games and paint their models. But if you ask the vast majority of them, they'll be able to rattle of a list of shit that pisses them off. If you're complaining about them having cutsey art or a marvel comic book, then literally who gives a shit. It's not relevant because the community staff can't even tell the difference between power armor marks. If you want to talk about kids in the hobby there were probably more in the past then there are currently, so the point is essentially moot.

The point wasn't about how much money each company was making. The point was about companies doing far worse things than GW and people still sucking the companies dick.

don't forget:
disney losing money from having their parks and cinemas closed -> REVENGE FOR STAR WARS GO WOKE GO BROKE
gw making making bank selling overpriced plastic that costs pennies to produce to manchildren stuck at home with nothing to spend their money on -> HERE'S WHY CATERING TO KIDS WORKS

GW can keep trying to cater to kids but its an uphill battle. All the things that go into WH40K just doesn't appeal to that many kids when you can just plug in a console and BAM playing a game. Most kids can really only afford one expensive hobby and as @Uranus Pink said, they are choosing Video Games due to the variety over 40K.

I think it's funny that people like Arch complain about GW cracking down and saying money his the most important thing to them, despite it killing a large part of the woke element that Arch complained against previously in great detail.

People just don't understand that the type of fans to autistically invest themselves in a hobby tend to be autists and abusers who will subvert the hobby to suit their political and/or financial mindset.

@LORD IMPERATOR
Yeah but marvel comics has been on a downward spiral for years, when people say copy marvel they strictly mean the MCU.
Not too familiar how comic book sales are doing but from what some people say its either stagnating or declining when compared to the movies (and maybe even compared to manga which beat its pre recession US sales last year)

GW grows because they know how to milk money out of people, and they have a stranglehold on the market. Warhammer is the most well known tabletop wargame in the world, if people even know what a tabletop wargame is, it's probably going to be warhammer. As much as we all like to pick on them for stealing from other sci-fi things for their setting. Warhammer has been around long enough to where most "gamers" have seen a space marine and have heard "blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne". Their subtle changes to their retail strategy also has been a boon to them because boxed games sells well. It's easy for a redshirt to sell a normie an elite starter box or a combat patrol as a cold sell when they walk in off the street.

They keep parts of it "child friendly" because they don't want to completely cut of the potential market. But that's just part of them being out of touch because sadly Timmy isn't going to be mowing lawns all week to buy 2 boxes of intercessors.
Except for that one year where star wars miniatures out sold everything GW had to offer ( to bad FFG is dying and AM is trying to kill every IP)

Also wasn't one of the complaints about AoS that it was too child friendly and removed some of the darker parts of WF?

I don't think I've ever seen a little kid at any my local stores. The youngests folks are all 20something college students and the only time I've seen a massive influx of those was with the Indomitus box last year. From what I heard kids used to get into Warhammer back in the day with the more campy first and second edition boxes, and the kids that do make it into the hobby now all have older relatives that introduce them to it.

One of the most recent age of sigmar novels has the kruel boys putting the population of a city inside a big fuck off net, hanging it up a bell tower, then putting the trip wire on the stairs. The trap was successful. So I wouldn't say age of sigmar completely lacks dark elements.

That’s fucking hilarious.

Except those companies lose money because the fans legitimately walked away and stopped paying them. GW pisses off the fans, and their profits skyrocket, instead of plummeting.

Money has EVERYTHING to do with this scenario. Less profits means that the fans you pissed off really did call your bluff and took their money elsewhere. More profits means that the fans that whine about how bad you're treating them are either a minority, or have the worst case of Stockholm Syndrome where the more you screw them over, the more they pay you.

don't forget:

gw making making bank selling overpriced plastic that costs pennies to produce to manchildren stuck at home with nothing to spend their money on -> HERE'S WHY CATERING TO KIDS WORKS
Because it's all about the money-just like any business is. If people like it, they'll keep spending money at it. With Disney, they've lost so much money on things that they're forced to close shops left and right, and even their new Bad Batch cartoon only got a lukewarm response. Whereas with GW, the more they tell the old fans to go fuck themselves and the more they cater to kids, the more money they make.

The amount of profits indicate how much people like something and how much they're willing to invest in it. With Star Wars, it was a literal case of GET WOKE, GO BROKE, as Disney is quite literally shutting down stores left and right. Meanwhile, GW's profits have skyrocketed the more they told the fans to go to hell and tried to appeal to a kids' market. So either the kids are buying it, or the manchildren who buy this slop love the kid-friendly stuff and spend more money on it than they did back in 2016, 2017, or 2018:

It doesn't look like an uphill battle when GW is making more and more money per year. That isn't so much an uphill battle as it is just a victory lap over a battlefield after they won.

The reason why they went after Youtubers making fan animation content for 40K isn't because they're that desperate to get rid of people who make 40K content better than them, it's because they're getting wealthier and wealthier, and they know that they can win any court case against any small Youtuber based on the amount of money they're willing to dump on legal battles alone. It's not them getting desperate, it's them flexing their new financial muscles. What they're doing is obviously wrong, it's a violation of Fair Use law, especially since these fan animators do it for free, but hey, they've got money to spare, and these fan animators don't.

They've even begun hiring snitches to rat out anyone who makes 40K content that isn't within GW's standards:

What does that tell us? That they've got cash to spare, and that they're willing to use it to bully the fandom to act in whatever way they see fit.

Bro, now you're just coming up with wild correlations. This isn't the weeb wars forum, we can't in circles forever.
The money speaks for itself. That's all I'm going to say.

By the way, does anyone here get the impression that the Imperium is actually making Chaos stronger?

Kruel Boyz are just the interlude before the CHAOS DWARF chads come back into AoS full force.

Huh good to know. It's weird since I got into tabletop through a AoS board game but never got into the rest of the setting since when I was looking it up people where really salty about the transition from WF and I couldn't pin down why. At the time I thought the two biggest reasons were GW making it more of a high fantasy setting like DnD and WoW and the really mishandled the new rules somehow.
Never really looked into it beyond that so don't know if those were the real reasons of not and if the complaints was just a bunch of hot air like what happens when ever GW does something big.

The End Times were poorly written garbage a and 1st Ed AOS was garbage. So the worst impression possible.

What the hell are you talking about Disney is dying? They're doing better than ever. Source: I'm an investor.

Nobody is pointing to the video games for cash. Total warhammer 3 killed the charts for a game that isnt anything more than a trailer, for a universe that is kill. Seriously, the vidya to TT pipeline is real.

Disney is closing down stores, their new SW stuff has lukewarm reception at best, and the MCU is fizzling out, with Shang Chi failing to get any real attention.

Whereas GW's profits have been on a steady climb, either because kids are buying their shit, or the old fans are hate-buying the new stuff. That, or the whales keep dumping more money on the franchise.

The difference is night and day.
