Has there been any release in the post heresy line? Is it any good?

I tuned off the usual places I got my info from after HH ended.

I really like the idea on paper of putting a hospitaller with my retributors because you can bring back one model during your command phase or burn a miracle dice to bring back D3+1 models, which is a great way to burn off 1s and 2s in your miracle dice pool.

You mean for the Horus Heresy game? Everything is still set in the Heresy. GW is releasing special characters and plastic kits alongside game books about certain battles. The latest release was the Battle of Beta-Garmon, adding in rules for Solar Auxilia, the Shattered Legions/multi-legion groups, and custom Blackshields. Next up is a book on the Martian Civil War which expands on the Mechanicum and adds in the Dark Mechanicum with rules for corrupted knights and daemon engines.

Meant lore wise with the Scouring.

This Genestealer Tech Priest, this is what we want for Dark Mechanicum. Gonna buy one of these when it comes available.

I'm actually amazed that this thread isn't ranting about trannies, culture war and actually talks about the game.
Kinda migrated here fully, /tg/ was utterly unusable and the 40k general is just the same 20 guys ritual posting or saying bull crap.

Funny, I constantly see an anon posting complaining about 40k threads with the OP image being tranime, or them making a thread with a tranime image attached ending the post with “I bumped a 40k thread out of the catalog” spergery.

Most of those people are nogames, especially the people on twitter who spend all weekend arguing.

/tg/ sucks ever since the userbase there turned on 1d4chan existing due ironic humor destroying genuine love for things. The 40k general is a containment hell home of the worst kind of general users. One off lore threads are just garbage full of concern trolling and everything else not Warhammer is locked to another general.

/tg/ is also full of mean spirited people who just have to be the worst faggots and tell people they’re either nogames or to neck themselves in response to valid criticism of games or the companies. None of it’s salvageable at this point.

It comes up, but it turns out all you have to do is ask them if they're going to eventually play, paint some minis, read some books, or basically anything actually involving participating in the hobby to any degree whatsoever other than watching lore videos on youtube, and they leave.

It's not even just about the nogames, they really have zero participation even as simple as reading a PDF of a codex or something. It's not just /tg/ either, you see it on dakkadakka as well with the greybeards who haven't played/read/painted/whatever in 20 years but want to proclaim from the mountain tops why the version you're currently playing is awful, why some character they know nothing about is awful, and how the game was better when there was no tactical aspect and the main objective was to just table the opponent with imbalanced terrain.

I'll admit GW is a shitty company that produces overpriced product. But... I also had fun this weekend getting a game in. I can read a BL book and as long as it's not utterly god awful, laugh at how corny the shit can be. And as autistic as it sounds, painting minis is basically just 3d coloring books but is relaxing for a bit after work.

The people who have never done anything with it, or haven't in decades but spend so many hours every day posting about it and arguing about it, is something I cannot wrap my head around.

Everyone always complains about the prices but no one ever takes the time to go buy the discounted totally legitimately games workshop products from the Mexican guy in a van I'm sure Pablo acquired this totally legally and I will take a 70% discount

I rarely ever actually take my imperial guard on me out to play games I mainly paint the miniatures as a way of calming down after a hard day at work

Currently waiting for my totally legit order from Игровая мастерская to ship. $32 ruinstorm daemon brutes is hard to pass up compared to the $138 the br*t*sh are asking for

I've gotten pretty heavily back into BF1 the last week or so and it gave me an idea. I'd love to see a Battlefield 40k game. make it Guard vs. Traitor Guard, and feature most if not all of the most famous Guard Regiments on different maps. I'd love to see Catachans, Mordian Iron Guard, Praetorians, Armageddon Steel Legion, Tanith First & Only, Kriegers, Valhallans, Tallarns , Cadians and Vostroyans facing off against all manner of Traitor Guard regiments. You could give the players tons of different varieties of lasguns, autoguns, and specialist weapons like plasma, flamer, or melta weapons. The IG already has plenty of different tanks, walkers, and aircraft to make one hell of a fun game. All the basic structure for a genuinely great 40k game is already there.
