What army? I haven't gotten an army fully together yet and I haven't played Tabletop Simulator in years.
I run Dark Angels (with a squad of Ultramarines and Deathwatch mixed in), Orks (no particular clan), and Kriegers.
What's the best one in your opinion? Haven't got around to reading the books lately, will remember to pirate a few sometime...
The last one I finished was Fulgrim. In the first three HH novels, you get the impression that the Emperor's Children are insufferable faggots (and to be fair, they are, even pre-Heresy).

But it eventually shows their more likeable side. And their downward spiral into Slaanesh's embrace is hilarious.

Keep in mind that the novels are not exactly high literature. They're pulpy schlock designed to sell toys. They're the dudebro's answer to romance novels or Hallmark movies.

So I guess they got caught DM'ng minors(seriously, wtf is it with content creators online? stop trying to fuck kids)

Online content creators are mostly nerds who do a job that few adults understand or respect, so they prey on children who are easily impressed by that shit.

Perturabo is the stand out Primarch novel. The others struggle to be even a fraction of how good this novel was to me.

Alpharius, Fulgrim and Konrad had fantastic novels also. Just read any of the traitor primarch novels, they are all really good. The loyalist, on the other hand, are kind of meh as a whole. I only remember liking Khan and Dorn (I think it was him?).

If you are looking for sort of recent good novels The Infinite and the Divine is my favorite Black Library book right now. But does require that you know at very least about Orikhan and Trazyn's Necron fractions.

Completely agree with the Fulgrim novel and dudebro's novel of choice. A better sight to see than the deluge of gay YA trash.

Another Reccommendation is Sigismund's novel. This was really good almost everything I could want from a space marine novel. Sigismund is implied to low key hate being a space marine but believes he can use his gifts to beat the crap out of monsters.

Although I think the Champion of Oaths by John French (same author) did a better job of telling Sigismund's story becoming a Templar Brethern. For some reason, Sigusmund's Templar story is different from Champion of Oaths.

I was watching an interview with Dan abnett and my God he is full of himself like he literally can't take any criticism of his God awful subplot of the cabal there was probably the worst thing in the Horus heresy novels.

Also the cabal in John grammaticus with the dumbest parts of the Horace heresy whoever thought those were good ideas mainly Dan And company.
Really should have been smacked in the head they literally make absolutely no sense and they're just there to give the alpha legion something to do and the alpha legion should never been involved in any of it anyways they're supposed to be the masters of psychological irregular warfare.

In my mind the alpha legion never took place in any of the heresy and they're off doing something very interesting and very important for the emperor which is super secret which no one can be told

also look through a lot of the 1st edition books and man there was some fun ideas that they totally abandoned later on how GW continues functioning as a profitable company is a miracle and just shows how much power you have if you get maybe 300 whales

I like that Dan Abnett got hired to work on Darktide story, and the story is: you're an acolyte and there's a spy who's killed in a cutscene.

Don't forget that he's the one that also created Erda Astartes, a character and subplot so horrendous that people cheered for Erebus when he killed her during the Siege of Terra.

I knew a bit about them but it was quite enjoyable despite not being a non Imperial fan. Semi spoiler but you won’t know until you read it: The whole prank thing Trazyn played on Orikhan that had future implications was quite enjoyable and probably my favorite part of any 40k book when it was revealed. Highly recommend.

Trash character. Totally pointless to have her as the mother of the Primarchs and astartes. Ruined Chaos just going whoops fuck your project bish.

Also Abnett really needed be to reigned in with those End and the Death novels. There was plenty of “Okay I get it” and he keeps going on.

Legion as a novel was amazing, real enjoyable as an espionage novel. The cabal part was… subpar. It only served in the book to push that Alpha Legion motives were unclear but actually loyal… further confusing in later books with code words and such.

Just remembered another thing Abnett did in the HH/SoT books that irritated me. Constantin Valor potentially/likely being his King In Yellow interpretation for his Inquisitor books. Really didn't like him using Valdor as tool to promote his upcoming book.

Funny how when ADB or Mike Brooks fucks up it's usually just lame & gay (emphasis on usually), but when Abnett fucks up he royally fucks up. The Cabal, Erda, the Ultramarines direct-to-video film.

I keep saying that you guys and /tg/ an extent only ever targeted ADB and very recently discovered brooks because they are woke leftists who use twitter to much when their biggest sins are regulated to corners.

Abnett fully admitted he never cared about following old lore, everything you see mentioned in why heresy is bad CAME from Abnett, and overall he’s raped the setting more than anyone can admit. However, he wrote a guardfag book and Eisenhorn and even his biggest lore destroying books were written well.

Dan avenant at his best when he's not allowed to touch anything involving the main line overall story of warhammer 40K.

And This is why Dan should be relegated to writing stuff that has nothing to do with the overall narrative of warhammer stick him in a corner and have him write 700,000 guard books he doesn't know how to write space marines.
I still would like to see more gaunts ghost books though maybe he continuation 150 years later but the first and only now have the new world and it's a massive fortress world.

Mother fucker I merely brought them up because they're prolific. Yes, they're faggots, but they can write (GW needs to keep ADB far away from writing the Emperor as a character or a plot point though. I'm a Chaos guy and even I think he goes too far with his hatred in writing the Emperor). Abnett also can still turn out a good product too, it's just when he fucks up he sets a new standard of bad.

Someone made a joke in a Warhammer short. This is like 1% the seething.

The joke. How fucking pussy whipped is the wider 40k community? Haven't interacted with the main audience in years.

Can always respect an Ork player, they look incredibly fun. Dark Angels are one of my favorite Loyalist chapters so that's nice to hear someone playing it.

God what did he do now?

Favorite Primarch baby, hell yeah.

Heh, I only get that when I include Meks in units, because all Meks now have the "More dakka" ability and you can re-roll all 1s hit rolls for free. Its double funny that Lootas have the "dats our loot" ability which also gives 'em re-rolls on 1s or all rerolls if enemy is standibg on objective. So, mek leading Lootas, they get 2 re rolls of 1s.

Sorry for the double post, but like is it a slow day fo grifters again or something?
Not a grifter hes a bloke doing clickbait and I skipped through it be hes arguing mostly for GW should change some things. The algorithm for 40k content tends to lean right so hes just trying to get views.

GW is a lot like short fat otaku they've developed extremely right wing audience they resent that fact and constantly try and shake them off.
If I was GW I'd write my novels I print my mini figures and I would not engage in politics to anger my core audience because I can just print money.
Same thing with Star Wars makes impassable movies and TV shows and books and you can just print money

I wouldnt say resent I hear they are mostly more shocked or have no idea more. Its also their own fault like I have said they sunk themselves into the hole of only appealing and making the Imperium look better than it actually is the local working class of Nottingham would even refer to their building as the nazi building for the Imperial Eagle on their HQ. They go heres a bunch of cool space marines but wait wait not to worship the imperium but anyway becasue thats not cool!

The next thing they release the most hardcore Christian imaged Black Templar update, The chud regiment of choice Death Korps of Krieg updates, and the orks that based themselves on nazi discipline and style.

No the imperium opposed to be the bad guys can you see fighting against the inevitable destruction of all that is good an overwhelming odds you're not supposed to sympathize with that isn't devotion to God and nation bad why are you agreeing with the imperium you know media literacy

The subhuman xenos are no match for the black templars actually if every other faction wasn't currently trying to assimilate the imperium of man.

T'au Empire

I do find the fans hilarious the greater good is a lie in the imperium of man you go as far as you can take yourself if you join the imperial guard you can rise up through the ranks to be Lord commander.

It's funny the guy who created them literally wrote them originally is psychic lizards then changed it then was yelled at because they didn't fit with the overall theme of warhammer 40K
give me the imperium of man any day rather than a bunch of naive space neoliberals

Minervan Tank Legions
is the true regiment if you like larping as German World War 2 funny mustache man .
