Balance update is out, fair amount of changes. All knights have obsec and count as 5 or 10 models depending on the size. Vehicle spam for Orks got tuned down and flyer spam for everyone is restricted to 1/2/3 in 1000/2000/memecalypse points games. Admech and Drukhari went up in points and more.
Lol fuck ad mech! If you’re all wanting to pick up cheap ork and ad mech flyers on eBay now is your chance.

Lol, speaking of AdMech, WargameExclusive, who does those cringe pinup admech HQ units (which have non-pinup versions that aren't bad) are now selling..

Skitarii Ranger/Vanguard torso+backpack. Just add the extra guns from the official kit. That's brilliant (and there's a 3D printer STL file for something similar) but, yeah.

Their trenchcoats / cloaks are buttoned up, which is an interesting take on it. Still, for $2 a model, allowing you to basically take a ranger squad and use the vanguard bits to make a vanguard squad... very nice.

The whole ad mech flyer list got me thinking I’ve seen this somewhere before. Anybody else who played through 6th edition remember the Cron Air lists that were big for a while?
For those who don’t know or weren’t around Cron Air was 3 Doom Scythes and as many Night Scythes you could fit in your 1500/1750 point list and it was nearly unstoppable.

The pinup ones are cringe, but their non pinup is useful.

They're a meme tier army because they're a casual filter. That's how it's been pretty much since their inception
I can say that release GK were not fun to deal with as Necrons before the 5E Necron codex. If you did well it's either because you got lucky or the other player was bad. Even if they weren't particularly good after the other armies caught up I still don't think they were fun to play against.

The GK guy I played with the most played Tau cheese in 4E so fuck him in general for intentionally making games unfun.

Well gk in 5th was ward so I'm sure most would agree

I've been looking at the new Grimaldus & Cenobyte Servators models and there is one thing that bugs me.
On the Banner of the Fallen Crusaders, I've been trying to figure out what the banner says:
Banner of the Fallen Crusader.PNG
"IMPERATOR V[I orA]"
Is it "Imperator Victoriam"?

That last letter looks like an 'I', since it doesn't have the curve of the 'A' in Imperator.
More than likely the full banner would say 'Imperator Victoriam'

Brace yourself, yee who read this
So for the last few months I’ve been stuck trying to generate a “my guys” faction. Space Marines, Necrons…. I couldn’t find something that I wanted to buckle down and write. Bought a few kits to try and cultivate the creative spirit, it was a few nights back when I put a disassembled Chaos Spawn next to a Necron Scorpekh……. I decided to create a Dark Mechanicus cult.

The Forge World of Proximos VII rests deep within the Maelstorm, churning out weapons of war to feed the Despoiler’s war machine. While the world’s master, Magister-Apex Starravek builds his magnum opus, a sentient computer made of blood, bone, steel and lots of living psykers, wired into the engine and providing a feast for the young intelligence. Starravek’s cult is utterly devoted to his vision of creating a planet-god born of the human soul, the machine spirit and the daemon. All of their strengths and none of the individual weaknesses.

To this end he has ordered that immense planetary engines be built into the world itself in the hopes that one day his monstrosity will have the strength to reach out and power itself through the void.

To feed this insanity he leads real space expeditions constantly, hunting for “raw ingredients” and the more mundane slave raids, STC treasure hunts, resource gathering and whatever is needed to placate Huron Blackheart, who barely tolerates Starravek’s eccentricity.

Starravek would never know that the technology used to build the core of his “war-world” is based on an early concept for what would become the Golden Throne……..

I'm just in it for the lore but I'm curious how do you people afford the tabletop game?

Shits expensive
