What's the consensus on "Seasons" of 40K?
Personally, I won't mind it if it keeps an edition fresh while holding off the next edition.
As for the return to Vigilus, I'm probably going to pick up the campaign book as I liked the first two.
Another AoS idea they are trying to adapt to 40k might be good might not. I feel they are struggling to push an ongoing story for 40k unlike for AoS which is how these seasons would progress.

A new chapter approved every 6 months isn’t something I look forward too. They weren’t exactly giving a lot of details and seasons implied a greater emphasis on competitive events but nothing announced. If they do in store campaigns for each ‘season’ i’d happily take part so long as they run them properly.

Goddamn my two reactions were already posted for the new railgun. I field nyds and bananas, and both are absolutely floored by this singular gun (except nyd spams). I can't wait till my zoans get sniped from the other side of the battlefield because I miss-evaluated sight-blocking cover, or see all my golden dreadnoughs get turn 1 deleted and one of the costiest points-wise army loses half it's power in a single turn.

the railgun doesn't ignore LoS and without major changes to its durability I don't see it being a problem. One deepstriking tank hunter or melee blender unit and its gone and with a decent amount of terrain its targets are limited T 1.

Most deepstrikes come turn 2, and in the Custodes case their "vehicles" are pretty bulky so if a table doesn't contain tall opaque walls, you can kiss your dreadnoughs goodbye. My only expectation is that the BS of the hammerhead remains 4+ so that it can only go down to 3+ with markerlights. Still, 3+ tohit, 2+ towound, instakill custodes' big units that aren't landraiders... It's gonna be painful.

Also as of the opponent will leave a deepstrike location next to their hammerhead/broadsides for melee blenders to go and be in charge distance. They're Tau, they can afford to stay back.

Hey dont forget the hammerhead has a built in reroll to hit

At this point I'm just waiting for GW to come up with something like super invulns that you can't ever take away for centerpiece models. Maybe 10th edition, maybe...
Centerpiece models already have a phase damage cap. The only things that should actually really be scared of this are dreadnaughts or any other big none character infantry or vehicles. If your getting your slam captains, overlords, or whatever deleted by a railgun shot, you werent really playing right. a single shot 10 damage railgun isnt very scary for a lot of armies because they can just drown them with a squad of blood letters or VVs or something and it wont really be doing much still you chew through that.

They do have a stratagem to turn that single-shot into a mortal wound rain for infantry, but that seems stupidly hard to use.

I'll need to check hive tyrant / swarmlord stats, but if they're at 12 wounds, they're too high for Look Out Sir, and low enough to die 2 out of 3 times to that railgun. And that's a pretty devastating loss. But yeah. Any character with less than 10 wounds can just chaff it. Otherwise you NEED line-of-sight blocking terrain to have a chance for your big bulky non-characters to get close.

Though the article also mention changes to markerlights. I wonder what those will be.

What's the estimated price on that Craftworlds vs chaos box. I know I'm getting one but if it's going to be retarded bad, like blood of the phoenix was, I might have to think about it.

It will be the same price as the custodes vs genestealers. So like 200

Just have the swarmlord slingshot genestealers at it. Then it will be locked up for the whole game.

New video more or less confirms a new Avatar of Khaine and probably a new sculpt for the Dark Reapers Phoenix Lord (lol if that's just a new HQ).
