The challenge is making sure you drill it right, I imagine if you have green stuff that can fix most mistakes.
Probably. Luckily the arm construction looks fairly standard above the elbow so I'm hoping there's a fairly simple magnetisation point somewhere on the mini.

Yeah overall it was a lot easier than expected.

I'm getting one of those new forgeworld Dreadnoughts for Christmas so I'll be magnetising that, I've never done it before either.

My suggestion is to drill the areas where the weapons attach and fill in some green stuff. Finally push in the magnet so that its surface is on the same level as where to attach.

I did that with my warjacks. The trick is to make sure that the hole isnt too deep.

Dude that's starting to look seriously menacing. Can't wait to see it all painted and ready to throw Imperial armour around. It'd look particularly good getting stomped by all 11 of the barrels on the Baneblade I'm getting for Christmas.
Only 11 barrels? Did they out of dakka half way through building it?

Victory parade for my mechanised ork force, battered the boys in blue in a massive 5k vs 5k orks vs imperium hootinani.

Props to my partner for bringing so many grot bombs.

Welp, I feel pretty far on the fringe, since I'm mostly more of the everything but the Tabletop sort of guy (cheapskate I am). I do have a shit ton of the Fantasy Flight pen and paper style games, such as Only War, Black Crusade, and Dark Heresy. I've recently been doing a version 2 of some stuff for like a fictional subsector using 1d4chan's creation tables since I'm retarded enough to think I can DM such a game.

I had to scum two spess mahreen chapters because they were turning into repainted Ultramarines before I got one I was more happy with. I'm okay with the Smurfs, but if I wanted them in the region, I'd have just taken their shit either wholesale, steal one of their children chapters, or repaint them for the game.

I also rolled a penal legion (I had to scum their first incarnation due to them being basically the Last Chancers) and will likely shit out a couple of other interesting regiments and whatever else for the imperium. Then I'll build up more info on my Ork Freeboota and some other threats to the region (namely Necron, Eldar, and Chaos). I'd include Tau and Tyranids, but they're not in that sector of the Galaxy.

I'm roughly in the same boat. Very into lore and pen and paper stuff, couldn't paint minis to save my life, even if I had the extra cash to drop on them. Got into the lore from Gaunt's Ghosts and I've been a huge Abnett fan since, working my way through the Horus Heresy now as well.

Primarily use a subsector I fluffed up for my games. Basically includes a few systems wherein they were nearly entirely or absolutely conquered by Chaos during a period of massive poverty/relegation to backwater of the sector at large. Blood Angels, Sororitas, and millions of flashlight-wielding Guard reconquered it over the course of a crusade and now it's been a few generations since. Huge Inquisition presence now that the Blood Angels left a power vacuum once they left. Most of the worlds are shrine/agri, if they were able to be recovered from their taint at all.

I'm starting to wonder if GW should try to keep producing Black Library content on par with what they were doing a few years ago. Seems like too much attention is being spent on the game itself and trying to franchise it into vidya.

I mostly got into the universe thanks to the Dawn of War games myself, especially the first game, since I like strategy games. Should really get into some of the Black Library stuff to be honest. Any good starts besides Gaunt's Ghosts?

I'm tempted to ask if we should try to game using one of the Fantasy Flight games. I haven't been in a gaming group in a while ever since my first DMed game went up due to scheduling and fatigue and I kind of want to get into another one. I can even get a buddy who will likely go Tech Priest since he's a big fan of the Mechanicus Lore and ideas if you're interested. I could play any other class (or DM if you don't wanna), and then we'd just need a couple more schmucks to round it out.

Hey, if they make sequels to Space Marine or Dawn of War, or some other strategy game that's good, I'd be happy.

Eisenhorn trilogy, followed up by the Ravenor trilogy are fantastic, also Abnett-written. I'd also say that soem of the omnibuses they put out are pretty solid. The Imperial Guard one's pretty great, I'm unsure if they ever came out with a second volume. Also, the Caiphas Cain series is probably the most fun you'll have in 40k. Less grimdark, more slapstick grimdark.

My girlfriend has DMed and streamed Dark Heresy campaigns before, I don't think it would be that hard to get into if we wanted to do so. I would see what kind of interest the forums has in running a group, I think it'd be pretty fun.

THQ went out of business and held all those licenses. I think Sega bought them? We're mostly getting crappy phone games and shovelware right now unfortunately.

I know what to look for for books now, thanks.

I wouldn't mind doing this at all if we have a decent time. I can guarantee another player, and I can ask in the tabletopping group if anyone's interested. Even then, I can probably find more dudes if you need them. Heck maybe some of the people in this thread might want to try.

Yeah, it sucks. I do think another decent game will come out eventually.

I hope they resurrect the Space Marine series and make the two planned sequels. There was a leaked story outline released last year that may or may not have been final but the second game was about Titus fleeing from execution by the Inquisition for Heresy and in doing so discovering a wider conspiracy between members of the Inquisition and an un-named group to commit what amounted to a second Horus Heresy and try and destroy the empire. The second game would end with Titus exposing this and receiving a pardon from the Ecclesiary having been pushed to his limits and growing stronger because of it. The third game was going to be Titus returning to the Astartes to combat the threat but as Chapter Master of a brand new chapter. It would have been awesome. There were also rumors that the second game was going to take place mostly on a Space Hulk and the third would finish at least on Holy Terra itself.

Goddamn that sounds amazing.

That would have been the best thing ever. Just pure balls to the walls awesomeness. Titus is such a bro.

The story was put on beasts of war as far as I remember just after THQ went belly up. Damn the multiplayer on that game kicked some serious arse.
Everything in that game kicked serious arse. It was exactly what it set out to be and it portrayed the 40K universe perfectly.

Yeah, I love it. Really captured the feel of being a Space Marine.

Grinding hordes of orks to bits with a chainsword was ghoulishly satisfying. Now Creative Assembly have the Warhammer rights for Total War games I hope we end up with a 40K Total War. Imagine to visceral satisfaction of that.

Total Warhammer looks like ass just judging by all the dev stuff and looking at recent TW games. I'll give it a chance but I am way more excited for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.
