"The only thing worse than <current thing>, is elves." Trees, boats, water, etc.

Not that Gotrek is wrong, although there's a somewhat humorous part in Giantslayer where the mere mention of something as detestable as ELVISH BOATS causes him to practically stroke out with anger on the spot.
My favourite part is Tharnquol sending the two messages to backstab his allies during a siege. That book was probably the best part of the series, only surpassed by the journey to the chaos wastes.

And then in true Skaven fashion his allies return the backstab during his big assault. Still, I don't think there's a single Skaven out there who has come as close to total victory as many times as he has.

Of course, he's always wound up a bit short of total victory, or even victory, but the the rat-thing that run-flees can fight-return another day.

That group that put out those kickass Noise Marines is now doing Mk3 armor + gear. Meant for Iron Warriors but doesn't have any specific iconography that I can see.

Both Reinforced and not. Wonder if these are Primaris Scale or Firstborn.
If you can 3D print them the option is probably available for both sizes but with scale creep they’ll probably match the current CSM size.

Sadly no, the scales are completely different and so far almost nothing 3D Print-wise is available for Firstborn. You can't just change the X Y Z values to make it work, they look off when you try that.

With chaos though, does it matter? I always assumed after getting warped, CSM just took on a plethora of augmented sizes and/or deformities.

More Chaos rumors:
MoP
  • Has a staff that causes perils in combat with a psyker
  • Cast 2 deny 1
  • When casting, can cause d3 mortals to a friendly non daemonkin unit to gain +2 to cast
  • Enemy psykers suffer one additional wound if they peril within 12"
Malefic dis

1. +1 to wound
2. Bring back a daemonkin model
3.4+ inv to Daemonkin units and enemy's take mortals if they charge
4. Beat the models toughness on d6 destroy it
5. 6's to hit auto wound for a daemonkin unit
6. +1 str or toughness (or both if rolled high on test)

The[re] is no longer a way to give characters a jump pack, only the daemon prince can still be equipped with wings.

MoE (elite slot)
  • Rerolls wounds v char
  • 6" heroic intervene
  • Hits of six does two mortals and the attack ends
  • Axe got worse Doesn't reroll hits Doesn't explode (does with legion)
  • Gains a wound and an attack
Dark Apostle
  • all god specific prayers are entirely new
... Why? Just why?
What a slap across the face if this is true.
That makes me unable to field my Chaos Lords and Sorcerers (they have jump packs).
What a way to ruin the aesthetic of a Night Lord player, too.
And they made the Master of Executions an elite instead of an HQ? Not sure how I feel about it.

Also, 'Nids Codex:

I don't know how shit of a take this, but the more I brush up with WF lore, the more I think space rats would of been much better as the endless horde faction in 40k then the bugs.
You can't do anything interesting with the Tryanids aside from making a bigger badder Hive Fleet or a new Genestealer Cult, and its not like there gonna give the Hive Mind a personality (although I recall they did try to give a nid some monologue in the Infinite and the Divine), and as cringy as Skaven speak can be, they seem to have some decent developments and named characters at times.

From the BoC thread about the new chaos rules:
My source says the night lord relic is for a fly model (daemon prince being the only one able to take it).

Furthermore he himself finds the lack of jump pack characters odd, but says that his playtest rules is one of the first versions, so it might be outdated.
I don’t see them taking away the jump packs considering that they still sell those models.

I don't know, man.
Hive Fleet Jormungandr infests asteroids then launches them at the planets they intend to attack next.
Hive Fleet Kronos is specialized in fighting the forces of Chaos (preferably, using ranged combat). As in they are attracted to worlds that are overrun by Chaos worshippers and denizens of the warp.
Hive Fleet Hydra "recycles" recently defeated tendrils of other Hive Fleets, thus adding their prey's battle experience and biomass to their own.
There is some character to these fleets.
But, if you want to give some personality to them, then the Genestealer Cults attached said fleets are the way to go.

If you are talking about the finecast Chaos Lord with Jump Pack, that model's days are numbered.

A GSC successfully overwhelming and creating their own independent tendril Hive Fleet would be an interesting shakeup. Or a Hive Fleet eating enough Eldar to learn psychic precognizance, so it starts to avoid certain fights and attack in seemingly random places, which lead to later gains.

Post-Great Rift, a Hive Fleet actively seeking to seal the Great Rift would be an interesting development. There was also that Hive Fleet (Tiamat?) that was creating a giant construct on a planet that no one can get anywhere near to figure out just what the hell they're doing.

That’s most likely true, but they still give the Librarian a jump pack option and there isn’t even a model for it. Though it would be standard for Games Workshop to fuck over us chaos players in favor of the Space Marines.

Any recommendations on where to start with the books? The world building seems cool and it seems like a universe I could get into, but I have no idea where to start.

Unironically 1d4chan.org.
For the background of a massive part of the narrative and the set up for the galaxies situation in the game era:
For an overview of the factions in the game:

And then start clicking on links to concepts that sound interesting to you.
After you get a feel for things, then ask for a more in depth Novel of the faction you like the most.

There are some good humor ones like Ciaphas Cain and the Infinite and the Divine, but I think those are best after you have an familiarity of the universe.

The Eisenhorn trilogy is considered probably the best of the books, but it's very isolated not focused on the galactic conflict side of things.

MoE has always been bad, other than the model being alright to look at. I don't think jump pack lords and sorcerers are being removed, they likely are getting their own unit entry.
