I don't mind Superman.... but oh shit its amazon. After what they did with Sauron and Galadriel, I can't see this not ending with a ftm Celestine falling for the misunderstood bad boy Abaddon in the most fujoshit yaoi imaginable.
To me it's more that I doubt Amazon will spend half the cash to make 40k stuff like huge battles, power armor an etc. Most I think we'll get is like....maybe Imperial guard stuff.

I can't help but get some bad Halo show vibes, though I do think it most likely that all the characters will be original, not established ones to bastardize like Master Chief. On the other hand, maybe this show will be animated like Amazon's Invincible, the only feasible way I see to do justice to 40k's grandiose sci-fi/fantasy setting on a budget.

Now what role will the obligatory female lead have? Inquisitor? Ship captain? Sororitas? Guardswoman? Rogue psyker?

I also find it funny that the Hollywood Reporter describes that the Tau "may offer some hope."

The Tau are the closest they can latch onto, an authotarian collective. I am surprised they haven't put Chaos as the "misunterstood rebels" against the evil empire tbh.

Arch did a video and when he checked there was no official announcement by Henry Cavil or GW. They’re seemingly the only ones who were reporting on this so god only know where the information came from so until it comes from either Henry Cavil or GW themselves I’m calling BS.

She'll be a plucky black girl who poses as a male to sneak into the Ultramarines, then realizes that the Empire is evil because the Emperor is white and defects to the Tau. Also there'll be a scene where she weeps as her trendy half-straightened afro is shaved off by a cackling old space racist.

Okay but enough about ADB novels.

I'd prefer them to make their own work rather than adapt a novel. I think it'd be easier to introduce 40k to general audiences that way. Then again the last thing I want is for more fucking normies to flock to 40k like they did with Critical Soy and DnD so maybe they should adapt the most indecipherable piece of turboautism literature BL ever published. Or C.S. Goto's work.

Usual leakers haven't said anything about it so no clue where they got their information
GW seemed to have done a good job keeping a lot of that a secret. We knew about a TV show eventually (like that news got out in like what? 2018?), but nothing about a movie. Unless this is another 3d animated movie.

That being said.
I'm looking into getting a Harder & Steenbeck CR Plus as a secondary airbrush, has anyone here used them (the brand that is) before?
Also, my wife picked up some Back2Base-ix paint organizers for me and my own came in so I painted the sides the colour I wanted and combined them into a large area so my wife can join me in painting and basing miniatures.

Ah, so this is an announcement of just the rights deal before any particular project is in the works. I wonder if Hollywood Reporter had a leak that the official statement is reacting to when GW would've otherwise done so at a later date, similar to the previous Angron model leak. Also note that this is specifically about 40k, leaving AoS out. Not sure whether the Horus Heresy is included given how much GW gives it a distinct categorization now, but in any case, I think Amazon will be focusing on the proper 40k setting.

Now does all this mean exclusive rights for Amazon? What does this mean for Warhammer TV projects, or that old Eisenhorn series production? What does "and more" mean besides series and films?

And who the hell says "GAW" to mean Games Workshop?

Good God, Arch is still clinging onto that trivial XIII/VIII typo from a GW community post, and I see that his disdain for anything Primaris is still as strong as ever.

Stockheads. GAW is their stock ticker.

I'm feeling mixed
On one hand its amazon and for ever 1 show I kinda liked from them they made 2 or 3 I hated.
Second is the produces, there listing Cavill, Max Bottrill, (might be head of new production at GW since 2010) and BL writer Andy Smillie (anyone familiar with his work) as executive producers. so I don't know if thats a good sign or there just there to appease the fans but will have no say with amazon just bloating the number of executive producers like they did for Rings of Power.

Even though Cavill is a fan, I absolutely do not trust Amazon with 40k. As much he'll try to have the series fit the setting he's gonna get told "lmao fuck off The Emperor is trans now!"
