I just primed a box of corpse grinder cult dudes and after seeing the sawcleavers up close I had the idea of painting them up like hunters from bloodborne but then I realized it would be just dark-brown/black and red which just feels generic. So I just want to hear any ideas for a paint scheme for them.
Lots of brass and red!

Whatever you want. Henryk's gear was yellow and Djura's was white. There's no set hunter color, as long as they have cool hats.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those, I mainly used the constable set and remember most sets being mostly shades of grey.
Well here is the first shitty test mini.
sorry if the photos are shit

Wow, I never knew those little shoulder pad kits cost over $20. I could be making a fortune on Ebay. I was thinking they might be $5.
They are made of resin and are from the Forge World side of GW. If they were plastic, they'd be about $15 ~ $18.
Just look at the Dark Angels Chapter Upgrades on the main GW site for comparison.

During a lunch in the company I work at I showed my co-workers who know nothing of 40k. A battle report video and a paint video, they got pretty impressed with the quality of the models and the scale of what sounds like a children's game.

$15-$18 is still obnoxious for less than a handful of pieces of plastic smaller than my pinky nail.

Whelp, just found out that the lead writer for Space Marine 2 is a troon. Not even going to bother now.

Oh bollocks. Was looking forward to that game as well.

Oh well. Guess it's Hogwarts Legacy for me, then.

Do these people don't realise that GW (or really anyone) will never improve without criticism? Better just buy the next load of plastic and get excited for the next load of half baked shit (this time he is holding a heavy flamer and so is completely different. I assume this person is also really anti 3d printing.
criticism is pointless when the profits go up. all you can really do is take your money elsewhere out of personal principle and when it all comes crashing down you can look forward to be smug about it and say "I told you so". if you even care at that point anymore.

I'm not sure how satire it was. At first they throw everything cool at the wall, than settled on "middle ages and lord of the rings in space, with cool knight dudes, look!" and it stuck.
you can do satire without going full "I'm gonna be super hard intellectual now!", that's just where it ends up intentionally or not. going "but they didn't plan for it, it doesn't count" is some reddit-tier cope, no one gave a fuck about that back then.

Anyone else start off as a bland Imperium Lover and wind up an exhilarating Ork Adorer
I kind of went the other way. I started out mildly necron while my mates kept playing the ladz, but found myself enjoying imperium more and more. Today, I am more of an avid reader of books than a player - also because of where I live. I just read the third part of Vaults of Terra and I'm still not over what happened to Gorgias.

I have a theme with my armies.
Forces that are mirrors of each other.
Their "dark reflections", if you will.
Black Templars vs. Word Bearers
Alpha Legion vs. Dark Angels (who are actually Fallen).
I wanted to start a Tyranid/Genestealer Cult army so not be just so Space Marine centric, but the realities of life made me realize that this will remain just a concept at this point.
Anyhow, I'm watching videos of diorama makers to get some ideas on how to build terrains and battlefields that would be great for the campaigns for my armies.
Some of them are just awe-inspiring to the point that I wish I had a small workshop to build things like them.
Like that one guy that is trying to build the Imperial Palace on Terra.

So here's a question:

Is there any reason to read the first seven volumes of Siege of Terra instead of just jumping into The End and the Death? I've read the first two books, but I'm not going to have time to complete the next five before book eight comes out. I don't want to read 2000 pages of shaggy dog stories about the author's black OC being awesome just to get to the actual meat of the series. But if there's something cool in there that's worth reading, I wouldn't mind checking it out.

Any thoughts?

I dunno what percentage I've read or listened to but it's definitely under 20%. I say this as someone who got his first miniatures at the age of nine (some Squats squats, one had a meltagun and I painted it black and gold) and has been into the hobby ever since, on and off (mostly on, sometimes autistically deep into it) and although I've never really played any of the main games I did used to be a big fan of the lore. Most of the authors are shit though, imo. This is subjective ofc but not an opinion unique to me. I still really like their best stuff even after all this time but you have to sift through mountains of garbage to find it. I tend to go by author, and if it's a new guy I try to find their short stories to form an opinion. Unfortunately though, I've found that many of them can write a very compelling short yet fail miserably when it comes to a novel, which isn't surprising, I imagine novels are a lot more taxing.

Have the HH novels descended to Token-Diversity-Saves-The-Dayism? I know some of the BL authors should have been shipped back to the festering swamps of Young Adult hell but wasn't sure.

I honestly want bad things to happen to this guy. His pfp looks a lot better than it did last time I checked though
