In terms of kill teams to play? I haven’t played Kill Team but since you want to play Night Lords, get the Legionaries Kill Team box as that’s the one for Chaos Space Marines.

Outside of that, either get the new box set of adeptus arbites vs dark eldar for the terrain and rules, buy the rulebook/terrain separately, or get the rules online and make your own terrain.
The Arbites vs Dark Eldar set does not include the full rules. For that, there's the Imperial Navy vs Kroot "Into the Dark" (plenty available on eBay), the Krieg vs Orks "Octarius" (if you can find it), or the starter set with its mini-rulebook. Unless you just get the rule separately. I believe you also need to get the corresponding books with the datacards for whatever you kill teams you're using.

I want to get into Kill Team to play with a coworker that is also a 40k nerd (I've really only done video games and read lore). Night Lords are my favorite but there are so many options that it's kind of overwhelming. Can anyone give me some tips?

I play Legionaires. They are fun, you have a lot of list building options compared to other factions, and they're actually pretty competitive if you go all Nurgle.

My annoyance is that they have models that still use demonic possession and the warp while being forced to declared allegiance for chaos gods for benefits. I’m a bit rough on the lore but Night Lords don’t like using the warp or psykers while not declaring themselves for any chaos gods, I think there’s one group that does.

Bruh, the largest Night Lords warband in 40k is led by a Daemon Prince.

I think what he's getting at is out of all the Chaos Marines legions, they're the most secular.. which is also part of what drew me to them besides their Robert Smith Primarch and batwing helmets.

That’s not REAL Night Lordism. Under Curze the Night Lords tortured and flayed the flesh off people while broadcasting their screams on vox networks worldwide for good NOT evil!

LMAO! Curze didn't want to be around his sons at the end and vowed to kill them if he saw them. Besides, the Night Lords were a broken legion before the Siege of Terra began. They're just roaming warbands now, so is it any surprise that a good chunk of them became servants of Chaos? Slaanesh in particular would love them.

being honest i just like the aesthetics of w40k but isn't fabulous bill and iron warriors + perturabo like turboatheists and don't really have aligned or even believe in chaos gods?

You all seem to be misunderstanding what the Night Lords are about. Its not that they have any sort of set meme or expectation within their ranks prohibiting themselves from chaos. It is that Nostromans by their nature are self serving. This makes it from the start somewhat unlikely they are going to throw themselves under the authority of any chaos god. The situation where it would happen is when they were given a """good""" deal of getting a bunch of power, or they were already succumbing to some sort of fault in their character that opened them up to it. Not to mention, that if a Night Lord ever had this happen to them, they face derision from any other Night Lords their hanging out with unless A) They are all drinking the kool-Aid, or B) They are strong enough alone to keep the others in line. Imagine how it annoying it would be to have a guy dedicated to one of the gods and having to deal with it all the time, when everyone else is normal. Now imagine what you would do if you also had the patience and tolerance of a Night Lord. That's the reason you might see fully pledged CSM in lesser numbers among a legion that is already relatively small.

IIRC, they were switching towards this, but then the UK government found out that GW was having the models made in China, shipped to the UK, where they packaged them up with printed materials from China or the UK, and slapped "Made in the UK" on the box. Which is absolutely 100% illegal according to the UK cucks who went after GW for it.

I'm failing to understand how this is cucked.

I think it's very disingenuous of a brand to do this to slap a sticker on it like literally the United States meat oligarchy does this they buy meat from overseas but pack it in America so that they can slap made in America on it.

Now, I understand Warhammer is definitely more important than the production line of food for the amerifats, but I think the same concept applies is that if you want to go overseas for cheaper production don't fucking lie about it because majority of people don't give a shit about where the plastic crack is made. This concept is illegal in many countries for a reason of not only public health in the case of food and makeup, but general company integrity. Like we are already shilling thousands for your shit the least you can do is be honest.

Iron Warriors have arguably the least demonic corruption of their marines, then it is the Night Lords. I would say Alpha Legion has the least, but no one know what the fuck they're about anyways. With the Iron Warriors, while they do have individual members who worship the Chaos gods and have daemon princes, they will cut off any physical signs of Chaos corruption to the point of removing entire limbs and they prefer to forceful experimentation of daemons by stuffing them into their vehicles & weapons. Not sure how they feel about psykers despite being of fan of them though.

Bile does not believe that the Gods are sentient. They exist but are mindless and thus he doesn’t worship them.

When it comes to other chaos space marines, there is no set way that they view the Chaos Gods. You could have Word Bearers that while they worship the gods, do so in a nominal sense, relying on their own skill than through being empowered by daemons. Conversely, you could have an Alpha Legion warband that serves Khorne much like the World Eaters do. After all, the most unexpected thing when facing the Alpha Legion would be them charging into their foes directly.

The non-mono god legions have varying degrees of devotion. Some within those legions are more willing to embrace the corrupting nature of chaos and the power that comes with it. While others will use it as they please, thinking they can master chaos. And some (whom I would say were not hiding away in the Warp and thus were less affected by its corruption) disdain its use entirely.

You guys never post any fucking models. Very disappointing.

The nice thing about being a Traitor warband is that when a missionary knocks on your door asking if you've heard about Slaanesh, Our Non-Binary Ruler of Salvation, nobody's going to blink when you force-feed them their own spine.
