Warlord Games seems to be good option, since they offer rather sturdy plastic kits made for heroic 28mm scale (resin too, but it tends to be bitch and a half to work with when doing major conversions). Bren carrier, M3A1 half-track and scout car (resin), M8/M20 and Sdkfz 251 should all be nice basis for conversion. M3 would be my choice, for being suitably bulky and brutal looking and rather spacious.

Warlord Games does very good 28mm WWII military vehicles, in my opinion.
I always thought Warlords tanks looked a bit on the small side next to 40k vehicles. On that note does anyone play any of Warlord's games? I've been wanting to try Bolt Action and Black Powder.

Bolt action is OK but it uses random activation and black power is just guneline gaming and boring as hell.

Not to be a dick or anything but what did you expect from a Napoleonic game? That's pretty much how European armies fought.

These games have cavalry and every game I've watched they never move. You'd think cavalry would play a huge part in these things since infantry and cannon are completely static.

I find them both to be rather solid and easy to approach systems with strong emphasis on style of command. Bolt Action focuses on reacting to changing situations and uncertainty. Outside the random activation the system is pretty straight forward, has similarities to Games Workshop products and any WH40K should easily pick it up. Black Powder/Hail Caesar/Pike and Shotte focus on commanding larger forces and put more emphasis on formations, securing one's flanks and generally trying to keep your force coherent as you maneuverer to engage the enemy.

Overall Black Powder is more of a beer and pretzels type of a game with rather open and "gentlemanly" rules, requiring you to do some research and scenario planning of your own, on 28mm it also requires a huge table to house any meaningful sized battle, since your smallest maneuverable unit is a battalion (usually represented by about 24-36 models) and it takes several of these to form a regiment and couple of regiments per division. So only consider starting if you have couple of masochistic buddies with interest in same historical period and scale as you.

So, do my Word Bearers Champions and Lord have black armor? I've always done it that way.

I think you might be confusing them with the Black Legion. Word Bearers have Crimson and Silver last I checked.

So I bought a Wolfpack because I wanna play killteam with a friend and it's an opportunity to paint me some wolves without committing to an entire army. Anybody got any good wolf painting tips they fancy sharing because I wanna use them as an opportunity to learn something new.

I just realized that the plot of Head Apothecary Galan corrupting the chapter from within and bringing back brothers from the past is a call-back to the archive screen of the Rhean Jungle.

Ezekiel Remus is a full-fledged battle-brother, but he's supposed to have died as a initiate - afterwards, a Apothecary hides his reductor vial and narthecium with the scout's gene-seed inside as to avoid their destruction by traitors. But Ezekiel Remus -the Battle-Brother - managed to somehow record the battle with the traitors.

I come as Annatar, lord of gifts, with a new DOW trailer.

-Is the female voice Derosa? Doesn't make sense for it to be Macha, considering Gabe is slaughtering Eldar.
-Gabe is really agile in his Cataphractii suit!
-People are complaining about the graphics styling and the framerate for an alpha, as usual. It doesn't look grimdark enough or something.

Looks a bit like Dawn of War 2 but then I noticed no one seemed to be using cover and the unit count count got pretty big at the end.

Gee I can't wait to play Dawn of League of Legends 3 and do backflipping spinning hammer attacks in my termie armor! I've always said the RTS genre should be more like MOBAs and have lanes.

:spudking:

I just think that Lascannons are not drilling beams, and should have normal lascannon shots like in Dow1 and dow2.

SPESS MEHRENS are now here for battlefleet Gothic. Their unique mechanic is that their "favor" upgrades are exceedingly powerful, but you can only take each one once, as they represent the flagship of the various Chapter elite. The Master of Sanctity, Chief Librarian, Master of the Forge, and Chapter Master are the four positions, and players have a choice of Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, and Space Wolves as their chapter, although the chapter choice is purely cosmetic. Other than that they are an odd mix, with every ship having assaultboats/fighters mixed into one, high armor, low HP, high speed, and excellent boarding. They're sorta a cross between Chaos and the Orcs as far as playstyle.

Anywhere here's the usual trailer.

Near as I can tell, the next faction is gonna be Tau, and you get that for free if you buy the base game before the DLC comes out. Too late for free Marines though.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is looking great and I can't wait to play it. Hopefully 2016 doesn't mean late winter because that's a lot of waiting.
