where the fuck are the BLUHD RAYVENS
I wanna fly around decked out in stolen shit

BLUD REHVENS would be too OP because they're be "gifted" the Planet Killer.

In a more real world answer, probably because SEGA/Relic has some sort of exclusivity rights as far as the Blood Ravens in vidya, remember their cameo in Space Marine was still a Relic game.

Really hoping that when they finally give us paintable fleets, they just let us choose a generic chapter, because I'd go Lamenters in a heartbeat. It would at least make my abysmal W/L record cannon.

Blood Ravens have cropped up in Tabletop and Fantasy Flight games before.

how close could the horus heresy books be to being described as canon? I love the horus heresy series, especially the ones about the traitor legions. Also the occasional vaguing about the 2 missing primarchs is always fun when it pops up

Thought they were already.

Really tempted to get Battlefleet Gothic Armada at some point- any suggestions/comments from fellow 40k spergs?

Have you guys had the chance to read the wonderful novels by C.S Goto that tie in with the first Dawn of War? Holy shit it's bad, and I've read a ton of shitty 40k books (Conquest for Armageddon), but these were hot garbage. Such shit like Eldrad and and parts of Ulthwe secretly worshipping Slaanesh (dumb) and Eldar not being able to fully understand human language (wtf). Check out a pdf on a Sunday for a great laugh.

if memory serves at least a few of the books have an opener that says something along the lines of "take this with a grain of salt it's difficult to discern whats absolutely the truth during the grim darkness of war yada yada yada"

I read all three at one point. I though that they were good at the time (This was my seconde venture into WH40k books after an imperial guard book) but I have understand that they really are stupid. So full of lorerape and such.

Excuse the slight brag but dis git just won first place in my local area painting competition.

I read Gaunt Ghosts and Matt Ward, I read worse than GOTO.

Awww you didn't like GG at all? The first novels are older and a fair bit cheesy, but I feel like Abnett got his shit together by Traitor General (minus Gaunt being able to kill a Chaos SM ;_; The world/character building is set up well and pays off .

As for Ward, well....I'm glad he doesn't write novels I'll say that much.

Dumb question time! COULD an Eldar worship slaanesh? or would they skeet out their soul the minute they consider it?
I mean, it just doesn't make much sense because Slaanesh just eats Eldar souls like Russians eat caviar. I like the idea that the Dark Eldar are actually the "real" Eldar, you know the ones before the Fall. They just live in such wanton hedonism that it birthed a monster, but they won't ever change because leather and knives are cool!

True, but I feel like he does that better in the Eisenhorn series, where the lore-twisting is less visible/apparent for most of the part. Eisenhorn is a great novel, I feel it is Abnett's best and one of the BL's best.

Some of the Gaunt ghost novels outright had a "blaster carbine" and Abnett still confused lasguns for blasters.
Basically, he went "I do not really need to look into the tech, its all Starwars anyway." He is not the only one who does this.
Now this is much more grating in a battle novel than in a "mystery crime" one.

Also a good game is drinking every time a space marine gets poisoned. As they are immune to poison. Or when they bleed to death or do any of the things their biology should NOT allow.

Chaos Eldar do exist, though this is a old image. I'd reckon they're like Corsairs, small groups of raiders.

I can imagine small raider groups who have thrown their lot in with the other Chaos gods believing they will afford them a level of protection against she who thirsts.

I know its GOTO, but I think the dark eldar there thought she could become a demon princess of Slaanesh if she tried hard enough.

Anyway, those slaaneshi models look like they got Syphilis. Well done Gw!

Well some Games Workshop employees are rather.... enthusiastic about their models.
