I'm pretty sure heroic intervention does give fight first. RAW, it gives you a charge in your opponents' charge phase, and charging units get fight first. I've also heard numerous 40k youtube channels say HI gives fight first too.

Check the restriction.
Note that even if this charge is successful, your unit does not receive any Charge bonus this turn (pg 29).

I thought that referred to not being able to add modifiers to the charge roll. My only context for using it thus far has been against orks and that's how we both interpreted it. You're right though.

I can see how you'd think that with ork's 'ere we go
Overall, rules are much easier to understand and memorize. idk why they decided to call it "charge bonus" instead of just saying you don't get fight first. Vestiges from the people who made the mess that was 9th

I'd assume that includes talent doing basic quality control and double-checking things...
Odds are the "dev team" are fanboys that they pay with nickels and store credit, so yes, I would expect a bunch of "junior" game devs with a "senior" game dev that is only still there because he isn't good enough to find something that pays better would not produce the most developed of rulesets. I know why they stopped doing it, but I do miss when you had names associated to books and knew that when X got a book it was going to be good or when Y got one, well, life is pain.

I assume they suck at keeping talent. It's baffling that 10th edition came in with multiple fuck ups that they had to correct during 9th.

That Votaan happened in 9th yet Eldar released like they did in 10th is pure retardation and that nobody with any memory is involved.
Moreover, they saw exactly how much of a problem indirect fire was in 9th, put in extensive nerfs to mitigate it, and then undid every one of them while, if anything, buffing Eldar indirect fire.

What are some of you fellas' opinions on 30k? I like the beakie and assorted FW options for the tacticals and some of their shit looks cool, like the Solar Auxilia, even though its ludicriously expensive FW resin garbage (dime a dozen 3d printed look-alike options, though)

Ive been meaning to start a solar auxilia or even militia army using proxies or recasters mostly for shits and giggles, some of the looks are kinda cool

I like 30K as currently constituted. It's got a decent amount of the old ruleset while still streamlining and refining where it needs to, and the push to get stuff out in plastic is great for Marine players, though obviously less so for everyone else. I'd say go for your army idea and just have fun with it; I'm working on an Imperialis Militia list to supplement my Fists army and I might do some cultists for my Alphas.

Played a game against Death Guard on Saturday.
I gotta say: OOF
I tabled him by battle round 3 with orks. He even had mortarion and 2 chaos knights.
I'm having the opposite problem with necrons. I lost my last 2 games. At the end of turn 5 of both games, I had lost less than 5 models and they had less than 5 models left on the table. I haven't played against an army that is slower than me yet and denying me midfield for 2 turns seems like a sure way to beat me. I probably just need to run a faster list.

Are you the necron player?
Necrons are strong as SHIT right now. The better re-animation is such bullshit it makes me fucking seethe.
I am, and they're strong, but I wouldn't say they're strong as SHIT. They're extremely durable if built that way but otherwise they're slow. They're a lot easier to deal with at 1k points than 2k, and I don't think they've taken a GT yet even with the indirect nerfs.

From what I'm reading, once Eldar, Knights and Genestealer Cult take a few clubs to the face, odds are they will shoot up as the next big bad. You will want to focus more on missions than killing to get wins though.

I heard it's better balanced than the other games by having less factions and a lot more overlap

New Norn Emissary doesn't look that bad
https://youtube.com/watch?v=RfD_GC6S1tsNot sure how I feel about the other reveals today.
I also like the new Bio/Pyrovores. Mostly due tot he legs and new guns.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ONpHNDy1KP4No longer have to kitbash too much.
The 'vores definitely needed the redesign. I like that they got rid of the dumbass-looking faces and gave them more armor; they remind me of the plasma and tanker bugs from Starship Troopers now.

Yeah, the wife likes them being more buggy now so I don't have to kit bash them to look more like tanky bugs. Legs don't look like they can handle the weight of the bodies and gun but that's okay. There's probably some biological reason why they can handle it. Bones in the legs alone wont cut it. The same gasses the mines have to make them float could.

Is it odd how Genestealer Cults as a faction are raking up more wins than the actual Tyranids faction on the tabletop by winrate?

The Hunter/Stalker getting axed is odd too. Poor assault marine, you had a good run. And there isn't even a primaris assault intercessor with a jetpack.
