Finally got around to playing 10th. I really appreciate the simplicity, especially the toned down strategems. It's fun to spend more time thinking about the game than the rules.
Tried it as well, by the end of turn 3 my army was decimated and I had only killed 2 Talos. Yes, my army is dumpster tier but fuck, why waste my time on it?

Mostly played just to say I tried it and I do really like the dynamic missions, but I much rather stick to OPR and Kings of War for the most part.

They'll be back.
Scouts and some form of jumpy boys yes, maybe a new type of cannon and new servitors, but the rest already have "close enough" replacements, except the hunter/stalker, and air warfare in general seems to be de-emphasized in this edition. I doubt we'll be seeing any new Rhino STC models in the future.

Standard caveat that GW tend to follow insanity doctrine.

Well... we can always use the old ones with some house rules. They can't stop us from doing that.

... right?

Yeah. Right now everything's 100% legal because all these models are in the Space Marine index. When the new codex comes out anything that's missing will either go to "counts as the new equivalent" or get a Legends datasheet that is legal in anything except tournaments.

So is Shy is a troon?
I have also been wondering this for a while, but my gut tells me no.
Here's the only pic of shy I could find anyway

Yeah its a tranny trick akin to the adam(ette)'s apple scarf.

But the fingers look a tad bit delicate for a man. Usually even skinny trannies have big handbones. So either a very effeminate man or a rare femautist.

Recently got interested in this and it's kinda cool.

There's a podcast called Adeptus Ridiculous that I've been listening to and it's pretty entertaining and imo just a better way to learn about the lore than Luetin's autistic snooze-inducing style.

Anyway I've had one burning question since I started listening to it:

undefined
I listen to them too and if shy is trans they do a decent job not shoving it down everyone's throat. I know they occasionally do livestreams where Briky and DK will read superchats while shy paints a figure so if you want a better shot of their hands there should be a few archived somewhere.

Any good salt on the Space Marines being replaced? The usual people who bitched about it for nearly a decade pretty much took it for granted once the news arrived
Mordian Glory, Guard and competitive aficionado on YouTube, was (self-admittingly) very salty to such an extent that he vows to boycott GW and go exclusively 3rd-party proxies for future 40k purchases. He cites the release of the 10th Edition 40k indexes last month as the greatest offense in this, as if GW has tricked players on the safety of continuing to purchase the units in question. Personally, I find his hypothetical on a new player coming into 10th Edition and then buying old Firstborn Space Marine kits to be outlandish.

Here's Mordian Glory's video on the matter:

And there there's also his preceding livestream in which he goes over the WarCom article and the list of units in detail, starting at 1hr16m and going for about 25 minutes:

Hasn't stopped him from still churning 40K content, as long as he isn't willing to stop hunting the 40K clicks and maybe shift full time to Bolt Action or other historical content, it's all words in the wind.
I've caught the scatter live stream of Adeptus Ridiculous where Bricky & DK are talking while Shy is painting minis. Her hands are very feminine, so I don't believe her to be a troon
They can be counted with one hand, but I have seen a few actual women wargamers in the wild (though most of those are "X's girlfriend", so I can believe it's an actual woman (even though my first instinct was actually tranny), specially if she's more focused on the hobby than the game.

Shy is mute, but probably also a troon. People following Warframe drama closely might know more, since that was his(?) previous haunt, from which he's subsequently DFE'd.
ETA: The full handle was (is?) Quiette Shy, with the spelling on the former being a troon red flag in my eyes alongside the acknowledgement of muteness.
I.......did not expect that at all. A mute autist who contributes to a podcast of all things. Good for him/her.

Hmmm this is a tough one. Have Bricky and DK shown their faces before? If so it's hard to see why Shy wouldn't, unless .........you know.
And that one time Bricky slipped up and called Shy a he. It's possible to do that with a girl, but also very likely Shy is someone they used to know as a male. My troony sense is really tingling here.

Yeah honestly it really doesn't take anything away from the podcast if Shy is a troon. The fact that it's ambiguous at all despite them calling Shy a she all the time is interesting on it's own.

Follow up question: Is Shy a third host? I always assumed he/she was like the Jamie to their Rogan where they're always off screen pulling shit up, but Shy being mute might mean that all 3 of them are always present.

Bricky shows his face all the time on his main channels and does irl battle reports on DiceCheck. DK not so much, the only instance I can recall is one time where they did a drunken reading of the All Guardsman Party (which sidenote found out awhile ago that a guy who had one of the better and more up to date reading of the series trooned out so that sucks). As for how Shy contributes without talking, iirc she's the one who came up with the idea of oldfag tries to teach newfag about 40k and the sole editor for the podcast that occasionally types and links stuff in chat (podcast is recorded over discord btw so take that as you will), they don't really have a third host aside from Kirioth once in awhile, Valrak one time for the black templars, and lutein actually to play darktide and to ask a single question over discord.

What if she is a pooner? Or was one of those pooner types that at least put on a he/him and yelled. "I am macho like Leman Russ, DOOD!

Ninja'd, but adding info too.

She's the one who suggested they make the show as DK was showing interest in Warhammer 40k and Bricky had the most experience of their group. She's mainly the show's editor and I think does their posters (correct me on the last point if wrong. Seems like whenever they do the poster for their Patreon and Bricky's store, Shy is the main person involved). She does type in their Discord when they're recording for commentary on occasion so she can be considered the third host, but usually acts as tard wrangler when they go too long off topic. Bricky usually does the research for the episode, or DK for when they do the Detective Ridiculous episodes, but Shy will type in stuff she wants talked about in the episode.

As for slipping on calling Shy a he, DK has a bad habit of fucking up words. Main fuck ups I can recall is constantly calling Alpharius "Alpharion" or calling Abaddon "Ezekiel" instead of Ezekyle despite Bricky frequently calling him Kyle. That said, on their recent episode on the bolter, Bricky mixed up the storm bolter with the combi-bolter (understandable for new fans/gamers since GW treats them as the same thing. I miss when the combi-bolter was a twin-linked bolter) for like 5 or 10 minutes and Shy waited until the end of the episode to point out he fucked up.

I'm not so sure. It is Dabnett. He'll make up a lot of big welsh sounding words and focus on his super special OCs, maybe mention the Emperor and how he was all along a black gay woman in a wheelchair. Which is peak Türkiyephobia. Do better, infidel.
