What better title for a video then "Henry Cavell quits show" or "Amazon TV deal cancelled with GW". I've been seeing videos for months saying that Henry Cavell has walked out on Amazon or GW yet its been reported nowhere.
I have a genuine disdain for those people and their channels and if the show is actually good they'll start licking corporate boot immediately because they're as mindless a consumer as the the soy boys they so often cry about. At this point I wonder if Cavell regrets letting his love for Warhammer be known considering how many people use his name and face for nothing more then SEO these days.
Maybe? He made an IG post the other day thinking I think ADB or Dan Abnett? I forget which, of him sitting on his patio reading a book(he didn't name the book and the cover isn't visible in the photo). But it's hard to know if that's just part of marketing obligations, or he still actually likes 40k. I remember years back the stupid Vin Diesel playing D&D or "D&Diesel" shit blew up for a little bit but not like this where some youtube channels (grifters and shills) slap Cavill's name and face onto a video practically weekly now(and usually with some shitty AI garbage on the grifter channels, can't even be bothered to just photoshop his face in anymore I guess).

Something that’s cracked me up with the very heavy focus on tournaments in 10th edition is the amount of reddit users trying to leave no stone unturned in pursuit of WAAC tactics.

Reddit faggots seem incapable of finding entertainment value in games unless there’s a way to play them competitively.

Fortunately any semi-sane TO would call that shit out, assuming that the opponent called the TO over in the first place(which is the bigger issue). There was a large GT a month or two back where someone was putting their finger on a fucking model to cheat a measurement and got themselves banned due to modeling for advantage(it was 100% intentional). No fucking way this tau shit is allowed unless the players all act like a fucking doormat.

Hell, the winner at Tacoma was outed for cheating, which doesn’t surprise me because of the amount of tourneyfagging. I hate the way the game has become hinged on patches via data slate updates. There’s a page with points values in the codex, but it seems like the majority of the game is dictated by their attempts to balance things to appease tourneyfags.

Sure, and it's not great, but have you forgotten "ye olden times"? Where a faction may go 2-4 editions before getting a codex? If a broken combo existed, it wouldn't get updated for maybe a few years? If your codex came out and your army was shit, put it on the shelf and maybe it'll be usable again in a decade?

As far as the cheaters, they're being called out, which is great. The community as a whole needs to stop being passive fucking doormats, letting cheaters do as they please(they existed back in every previous edition as well). Hell, I've encountered more cheaters playing casual pick up games rather than playing in local tournaments. And if it's not cheaters, it's some autist having some dice fondling tick that makes the game take forever(like rolling to hit and then needing to stack everything with a 6 facing up, even though they now need to roll to wound moments later anyway), has the memory of a goldfish and can't remember that a bolter in their own army is still S4 by the time we're on round 3 and hasn't changed since the start of the game and needs to check their list every damned time something with a bolter shoots, and so on.

I don't know what the solution should look like, other than just releasing the damned rules for free. But I know what the past looked like and fuck that.

Let’s be honest Riddick is a literal dark elf there’s even rumors of vin commissioning Warhammer armies too apparently

Sadly there’s no real fix for it that wouldn’t upset the playerbase in some way, especially people who just want to play whatever is top tier at the moment. The updates aren’t much better than how things were in the past, either, which also sucked because of the way they treated armies that weren’t poster children for GW. Doing a full wipe of codexes at the start of this edition was a good start at least.

The way things are going now, it’s just more autists flipping through their mobile apps to find numbers they should already know and autistically keeping up with the meta watch and parroting the opinions they get from podcasters or goonhammer. It’s a case of the past sucking and the future sucking slightly less.

Wouldn't surprise me about commissioning shit, and simply not talking about it since the "nerd cred" didn't amount to anything from the D&D game he hosted on geek and sundry. Cavill makes an off-hand IG post because he's bored during covid and suddenly the shit has blown up into a whole lot of noise with his face plastered all over it and nothing tangible from it yet after years now. And yeah, Riddick is definitely his "nuh uh, this isn't drizz't, this is totally my OC self insert completely original character don't steal it" which makes it all the more believable he's a D&D nerd(or at least used to be).

For the casuals, yeah it sucks. I like going to my LGS every couple of months and getting 3 games in on one day against people who most likely all know the game better than I do. They go quick, bullshit isn't tolerated, there's a neutral third party running the show to get rulings for shit, I happen to like it. If that's not your thing, I understand that too, but we can't pretend the past was better in any way.

Well sort off, he did make that WitchHunter movie, which apparently was based on D&D character. Plus, his retirement plan is buying a castle in Ireland and just playing D&D or chillin. So, guess dude is still into that stuff, but kinda expected, his big "debute" before movies was doing commercials for Street Shark figurines after all.

Holy shit lol
And he actually seems like he's into it too, what a fucking nerd haha

All the fast n furious movies are made purely for him to fund Riddick himself.

Vins alright, frankly I don’t know why Cavill is wanked off as much as he is.

Like I said, the Vin Diesel D&D thing died off fairly quickly. I think it's largely because critical role and the mess of 5e just wasn't in full swing yet, and probably because he hasn't continually publicly discussed it since.

Cavill on the other hand, that's easy. He's propped up as the chad normie savior of geekdom.

Got some extended leave from work, and the missus is away, time to crack out the proxies and get them painted, first up is this big bastard:

Here's my usual paintjob type, recently picked up the painting side of it again after a 13 year break from my youth. Used to paint Leviathan style, trying to emulate the Hawk Wasp now.

I'm a shit painter, but seeing some of the quality in this threat is honestly inspiring. Makes me want to improve.

Also, got to say, despite how the thread often goes into doom and gloom about GW practises, derailing of the hobby etc, it's still one of my favourite to see fellow retards just enjoy something.

This place is critical when it needs to be but unlike current /tg/ you can’t routinely shitpost and derail discussion since you have an account associated with it. It’s also simply better to expand you hobbying outside of Warhammer sometimes and come back when you are ready.

Grateful to just play a game or two of Kill Team with friends here and there and enjoy it while we play loose with the rules just to have fun and for the price of a 40k army you can have a ton of different KTs to play so we’re always keeping it fresh. Tournament WAAC people seem insufferable trying to squeeze out all joy for a win in an otherwise meaningless existence. I vaguely recall how pissed they all were because GW changed the rules that made their primaris hellblasters and Guilliman strats no longer viable with one Redditor seething because they just started painting them.

This, I find the Warhammer skills I picked up to be tremendously useful in getting the most out of my other hobbies.

Like building dioramas for figures and whatnot, before? Forget about it, after two years of Warhammer? I now know basic chemistry with plastics, resin and metals, cheap alternate materials, weathering, drybrushing and most important, making something insane and unrealistic look “realistically” textured and weathered.

I like the idea you have here. The base of the Norm emissary is good but needs another lighter dry brushing over the grey. As for the talons get a couple more thin layers down for a solid coat and think about edge highlights to make them pop and perhaps add the blood effects to them as well. Keep posting progress pics because we like seeing that type of thing.

Those are very nice. I literally don’t give a shit if you can’t paint up to the standards of ‘eavy metal so long as you at least painted your stuff and you don’t shame others for painting. I paint like a crack addict gibbon, and probably wouldn’t as much if it wasn’t for speed paints.

I feel like once you fall down that WAAC pit, you might as well just play card games or vidya.

Really digging that tson paintjob. My wife wants to pick up world eaters and the idea of x + white or silver and gold is just too good.

I’ve got some dominions I’m dying to paint, if they don’t come up too awful I’ll post them.

You say you're a shit painter, looks perfectly fine to me. I don't care if someone's army looks like a toddler fingerpainted it(I'm not saying yours looks like this) I just fucking hate seeing grey or bare primer on the table(unless someone literally just got the model, but then I hope to see progress over time). You've got a got scheme, you've executed it, based it, and put it in action with some gore effects to make it look like it just tore something apart. You're already ahead of 90% of everyone else out there.
