After two years, we're finally going to get the premiere Leagues of Votann novel, the one stated to be written by Gav Thorpe some time ago.

Hernkyn Prospect leader Mrytun Dammergot is a member of the Kindred of the Eternal Starforge, and flourishing in this new age of conflict between the Kin and the Imperium, exploiting battles for great personal gain. When a messenger sent from her Kindred’s Hold Ship upends her freewheeling life, she and her companions are thrust into a dangerous venture with high stakes, but a magnificent prize if they succeed.
FYI, it appears from the context of this summary that the character on the cover is a woman. Furthermore, rather than going with the Greater Thurian League, the posterboys and biggest subfaction of the Leagues of Votann, the subfaction of focus is instead the Trans-Hyperian Alliance, noted to be oddballs in their nomadic, voidborn way of life.

Got some extended leave from work, and the missus is away, time to crack out the proxies and get them painted, first up is this big bastard:

Here's my usual paintjob type, recently picked up the painting side of it again after a 13 year break from my youth. Used to paint Leviathan style, trying to emulate the Hawk Wasp now.

I'm a shit painter, but seeing some of the quality in this threat is honestly inspiring. Makes me want to improve.

Also, got to say, despite how the thread often goes into doom and gloom about GW practises, derailing of the hobby etc, it's still one of my favourite to see fellow retards just enjoy something.
looks good man, nice and spooky for tyranid.

GW should really go back to doing a lot more of the blackstone fortress but it released right before covid
View attachment ZoatMini2020.webp i would you read a book series based on the adventures of giant psychic lizards and toys rebelling against the high fleet.
Also the men of iron when they show up and one of the ghosts novels shouldn't be that easily killed they opposed to be ancient weapons fully autonomous from the dark age of technology.
GW should really expand the alien races with cool designs like this and then I might pick them up

This, I have never seen the appeal of “dwarf” races in fantasy/sci-fi, it’s all about escapism and you wanna be a midget?

Gimme lizard 4d chess chad, robot in disguise or one chapter that shows a Rak’gol POV

that sounds like a great campaign giant lizard psychic men of iron space marine Harlequin an mechanicus biologist
GW pay me for writing your next great novel

As a 6'8" person IRL sometimes I just like to imagine what it's like to not have to constantly worry about banging my head on shit, okay?
For me it’s working in an environment that is not scaled to me and having to arch my back too much.

Despite this I thank the white Christian God everyday that I got the tall genes and my brother got the wide ones.

I know they make miniatures for those books but they never make any other miniatures for away covers Kane.
Also maybe really boring but I really wanna see a series that is set after all three of the heroes of the imperium
Ciaphas Cain Ibram Gaunt Sebastian Yarrick
aand the influence they had on the overall military structure of the commissariat but GW never seems to get the idea that if all of these men are heroes of the imperium the leadership styles would create 3 distinctive schools of thought.
Also really want them to bring back the half elves space marine chapters that would be a good series of books .
Either the overall background of your story doesn't matter and you can change it constantly which is something that really only seems to happen in western studios Japan really doesn't seem to do the same thing it's almost like European studios love insulting their own audience and chasing this magical modern audience that doesn't exist.
Hustle one minor annoying virtue signal changes like that is not gonna drive away your customers but they're gonna continue going down that path and it's eventually gonna do the same thing it did to Star Wars I don't know anybody who plays or like Star Wars and I'm not even that old when I was 20 everyone was raving about Star Wars now no one cares about it
elf space Marines is never gonna be a thing unless.... Someone gets crazy enough to try and reverse engineer the process and make eldar marines. But that's not happening, they are not going to put monkey genes into themselves unless someone high up bullshits them and says it's home grown.

I would really be interested in the tau trying to get access to space marine tech and biology. They have unsuccessfully tried to get marines to defect, and if they could actually refine the process on themselves or other humans that would be really cool. You could make some interesting or terrifying story's out of the process being only halfway working. Shit you could even get some hand me down chick Marines that way and up the tau's popularity.

The appeal about the new 40k squats is the idea of having a secret kingdom of midgets with highly advanced practically pre heresy weaponry. (To the point that in lore the tau bought off some of their beam weaponry from them.)

I like the idea of them pretending to be a dying race and going incognito in the imperium. They spice things up and I liked the amusing lore tidbit of a bunch of them ganging up on space Marines and winning.

Weren’t half eldar space marines in 1st edition lore?

Reject modernity, embrace tradition.

Yes, the half eldar turned high ranking astropath on Terra, who became an astropath for the dark angels who while somehow notoriously paranoid about everything just let him go to become an astropath for the ultramarines and was just so super great at his job was handed power armor one day and then somehow managed to eventually become chief librarian for the ultramarines.

I don't think GW could retcon enough lore with a woodchipper to justify bringing him back as a space marine at this point if they wanted to(and that's ignoring that he's just a farseer hanging out with girlyman now).

6’3. When I met a guy who was 6’7 I had a weird “Oh so this is what it’s like to me around me” moment.

Anyway I never liked the Votann models. I think the only time I was ever impressed with them was when I saw them painted up to be like StarCraft marines and I have a slight flash of desire to paint them up as the Terran Confederacy

hahaha

So Shillrak is on GW's blacklist alongside Arch Warhammer, because he posts leaks like a naughty naughty boy.

Space Marine 2's publisher sent out a bunch of codes to influencers. Some big name influencer got in touch with Shillrak because apparently they're sending codes out to influencers who know nothing about 40k, and they read the embargo rules that said he could post his own footage as long as he respected the embargo. So he posted a shitload of preview footage on his channel earlier today, should be fine, right?

Nooope. GW found out that someone on the naughty list was giving them free advertising and had a shitfit. So the videos are now unlisted, possibly will be deleted.

Remember, if you're not the right kind of fan, GW doesn't want your money or support. Won't stop us addicts from giving it to them, however.

Normally I would hate this but I hate him more, based GW for shitting on this retard.

Any of you guys play Bolt Action? I'm feeling the urge to paint again and Warhammer doesn't really appeal to me anymore.

Early review footage of Space Marine 2 came out today and it looks fantastic. Getting pretty universal praise.

Also PC recommended specs released

Stupid, easily ignored lore from GW aside, I still love 40k. Space Marine was easily my favorite game of the 360 generation, and I'm really looking forward to SM2.
