Near the end she says: "The galaxy was burned because of space marine pride." And it just sounds like you could replace 'space marine' with 'men's' and you can see why they did this.
I found a link the episode on 4chan: https://gofile.io/d/3oPbxI

Not nearly enough was burned.

Really changes perceptions of things doesn’t it? Swap out a few terms like “Set the Astartes free” and “Take back what’s yours” and bald boy makes a lot of sense.

The Emperor really was the biggest redditor, just look at his empowered qween.

Are you retarded? That’s been the Custodoes perspective on the space marines since their lore has been developed. They view the space marines as failures due to the fact that half of them went rogue while the Custodoes have never betrayed the Emperor.

“The Custodes have never betrayed the Emperor”

The dialogue takes on a different meaning when it's spoken by the first female custodes right after a space marine gets reprimanded for sticking to tradition (The Space Marine doesn't want to abandon the planet because his chapter has been protecting the planet for centuries) It comes across as more pointed as a result.

If female custodes are to be a thing. I will take the (probably ill-advised) stance that I think it is better that the woman custode is a thick-necked brick shit house. An absolute unit.

Personally I think that it would be far worse if she was a tiny googly-eyed waif and find it less off putting if female custodes are pretty much androgynous slabs of meat that are indistinguishable from their male counterparts after their augmentation.

I do agree that GW's handling of their retcon is sloppy as hell as well as rather insulting to the intelligence of those who do not like it. But I checked out back in 5th or 6th edition and am still contemplating whether or not I want to get back in to it. As such I am still annoyed by the existence of Primaris, having only recently learned that they are a thing.

I wouldn't mind if they put even the modicum of effort in. So it's not like Guileman decided to expand the guard, or make any alterations to the status quo or anything like that to gradually reform the imperium or anything. It just always was and we, the audience, were not keyed into it until now. It won't be acknowledged or justified in-universe. That's the most infuriating sort of retcon.

Aren't the Sisters of Silence technically part of the Custodes? What was wrong with that?

(Sigh) why even bother answering that question anymore?
I can't wait until GW turns warhammer onto a smoking wreck just like Star Wars because they wanted that sweet sweet Amazon cash
Selling out to Amazon is the Mark of the Beast. Everything Bezos touches turns to shit.

Yeah I can fix this shit in 5 seconds.

Suped up sisters of silence are called "custodians" separate from custodes and they are as unappealing as possible to better fit the lore fact that they are blanks that naturally repell normal people.

Done, now where's my check?

Nah, a cute anime girl would rake in coomer money. You know, put Tracer in the golden sue armor.

This will be loved by the Yuge and Bigly audiences of Concord and Dustborn.

Also, new custodes lore has been super special OC shit where they are more primarch than a bit better marines. They are the Sonichus of the franchise.

I am looking forward for the ten years or sooner cratering. The power of one, the power of two, the power of 40.000!, sing the space witches whom from Plagueis, I mean Neo-tak stole the Force pregnancy, I mean geneseed from.

This is going to be a magnificent trainwreck.

Listen, theres spinning words around and theres being retarded for the sake of being retarded.

There's really no need for Female Custodes other than to push some gay agenda. The Sisters of Silence exist (But admittedly are kind of "nothing"), and the SoBs exist (Which are extremely based and my favourite 40K faction. I need to actually paint my Battle Sisters at some point, but I am very busy with my Bretonnians.).

To compare; the latest WHFB book, "Lords of the Lance" has both female knights using bows (Both totally retarded for Bretonnia) as well as what seems to be pederasty for some reason.

Yes as part of Talons of the Emperor. Which funnily enough absolutely rocks on Into The Dark games because you have 2 Custodes with an invulnerable shield with 5 Sisters of Silence who can just stomp down a lane on the board. I think someone won a tournament doing this too as a compendium team (unsure if compendium teams are getting new rules in the new kill team)

Also the new Kill Team has a ridiculous setting I love it. You’re fighting on a planet that’s just a giant ass space cannon that is so powerful the recoils messes up its orbit.

Once again GW is doing more interesting things with NOT mainline 40K setting.

I made the dumb decision to get the play early version though so I’ll see if I notice any in the first hours tomorrow

Two more hours, Brother. Almost time to find out if we got duped or not.

I feel you on the "dumb decision", but realistically, I was going to buy it regardless. I enjoyed the first SM (minus the bullshit QTE final boss battle) and have a friend group that has been waiting on this since the first game. If it's shit, I'll take the dunce cap.

Fingers crossed they won't find a way to pozz it, but what could they realistically fuck up? A black Guardsman that gets pulped by a 'nid? I'll allow it.

Take your gender politics out of it. That scene represents the division between Custodes and Astartes. The Custodian has the authority of the Emperor but has been stuck on Throneworld. The Space Marines have been guarding that planet for 3000 years and can’t stomach the sacrifice of their honor.

We’ve seen this before. When the Primaris were introduced to space marine chapters, they were accompanied by Custodes because the marines would have balked at this change in their traditions and refused to adopt them without the threat of the Custodes.

I don’t see the scene taking on a different meaning just because the Custodian is a woman.

Custodes are whiny mary sues with manager powers. So tranny Karen maybe a good fit if you think about it.

They are every sassy girlboss trope from Disney Star Wars and need purple hair and Empychu medallions. A faction of Holdos in Sonichu colours.

Remember the good times when it was just Matt Ward and his Ultramarines? He will be like George Lucas, laughing at his past detractors.

I remember when the Emperor was cool, and fought Horus. Not beat him in a tarot card battle like some nerd.
