Fingers crossed they won't find a way to pozz it, but what could they realistically fuck up? A black Guardsman that gets pulped by a 'nid? I'll allow it.
PeeOhCees in the Imperium of Man isn't far-fetched. People are gonna start to vary in appearance when spread across the galaxy 40,000 years from now. Even though the characters' language is represented as modern English, in reality, Low Gothic would be unintelligible to us here in M3.

There's plenty black models on box art, not to mention Jaghatai Khan and Vulcan. And IIRC, Astartes have some kind of adaptational melanin in their skin to absorb cosmic radiation.

The mere presence of PeeOhCees or women in games doesn't bother me. It's when the devs try to use those superficial traits as a substitute for characterization or personality.

Audiences don't hate diversity, they hate bad writing. Wokeness is a symptom of the broader problem of laziness and misplaced priorities.

Take your gender politics out of it.
It's hard to do that when the female custodes is directly the result of it. There isn't even the illusion of it being an addition due to changes in the imperium, it was just always the case apparently. I'm aware of the custodes attitudes towards the space marines, but when those attitudes are expressed with the backdrop of controversy and the recency of the changes, the intent of the line can be viewed in a different light. It's fine if you don't see it but the fact of the matter is that it's very easy to see it as such considering how spiteful creative types can be when it comes to their views battling with the audiences.

The Custodes Attitude made some sense during the Horus Heresy. Not after sitting on their asses for millenia.

If they were the same custodes as those in HH it would be more acceptable, but apparently that's not the case, and they come off as spoiled nepo babies.

What did Custodes do in the last ten thousand years? Besides getting owned by elf clowns? Yeah shut up and sit down, Inquisitors got more clout as at least they haven't been sitting on their asses since Horus, and no sissy blood games from Grammaticus Abnett don't count.

It wouldn't be Warhammer without holding grudges and scapegoating. The Imperium isn't exactly known for conceding its own faults or shortcomings.

The Emperor's Gilded Secret Service and Holy Terra's last line of defense got bitchslapped by elf clowns? Yeah, I don't blame them for not wanting to talk about it.

Two more hours, Brother. Almost time to find out if we got duped or not.

I feel you on the "dumb decision", but realistically, I was going to buy it regardless. I enjoyed the first SM (minus the bullshit QTE final boss battle) and have a friend group that has been waiting on this since the first game. If it's shit, I'll take the dunce cap.

I enjoyed that "boss fight". QTEs where you're just beating the shit out of someone are kino.

DS9 is the model every "diversity" show should strive for. It had a shit ton of unique characters with a black captain and it was awesome because the writing and story came first.

Major kiria id argue was a petty dam good example of a "strong female" done realistically. A woman with fire but not above regret, mistakes or getting dressed down for insubordination.

That MK7 armor and the old wargear at the start fucking hurt.

You can’t even unlock it
There's no way that won't somehow be dlc later.

Take your gender politics out of it. That scene represents the division between Custodes and Astartes. The Custodian has the authority of the Emperor but has been stuck on Throneworld. The Space Marines have been guarding that planet for 3000 years and can’t stomach the sacrifice of their honor.

We’ve seen this before. When the Primaris were introduced to space marine chapters, they were accompanied by Custodes because the marines would have balked at this change in their traditions and refused to adopt them without the threat of the Custodes.

I don’t see the scene taking on a different meaning just because the Custodian is a woman.
It's annoying how girly man is treated with such reverence even though the only thing girly man did during the heresy is get killed in space because girly man is the worst Primark.

Every other Primark is more interesting than girly man also he's a dirty knife here lover

Beta testers "Advanced access" players are reporting high CPU temps (that aren't actually concerning temps), crashes on launch, no FOV slider and no HDR/ultra wide support (who cares).

What does seem to be concerning is some people saying it automatically installing the EGS launcher, as Space Marine 2 uses the epic servers for matchmaking. I've seen people say you can uninstall it right after it's forcefully installed without issue but as I am not a paypiggy, and the pirated version can't use multiplayer, I don't know if the matchmaking is still functional after that. Also it uses EAC which is probably very easy to turn off still.

Here's a list of current and (at the moment) future DLC per steam files:
2486150=Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - DLC 1 - "Macragge's Chosen"
2792140=Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - DLC 2 - "Ultramarines Champion Pack"
2792150=Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - DLC 3 - "Ultramarines Cosmetic Pack"
2792170=Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - DLC 4
2792180=Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - DLC 5
2792190=Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - DLC 6
2792280=Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - Season Pass

Watched around 2 hours of the campaign. It's more or less based off of experiencing set pieces than telling an story (which is hardly anything new). Dialogue is largely inoffensive (and fairly weak) for 40k.

The vibes that I'm getting is that it's targeted towards the ADHD crowd than anything else.

It captures the nonstop action of fighting hordes of Xenos which is honestly refreshing. I’m tired of companies trying to make compelling stories on shooters; I just wanna shoot shit and see a few explosions before diving into multiplayer and doing the same thing in a more social/competitve environment

This, I wanna log on, have fun with the lads and kill shit.

Bolter porn isn’t a bad thing.

I refuse to buy it on the grounds that 40K has been completely overran with tranny shit and I refuse to give money to GW and by extension, the UK Government.
I MIGHT pirate it, if only to shit on it with from a place of authority, but I also don't want my PC to melt, so maybe not.
A principled decision, but all the video games also make GW significantly less money than the miniatures and spending money on the as of yet unpozzed segments of the IP sends a message about what sells. With the tabletop pricing lately it doesn’t seem unlikely that they’ll completely kill that business anyway

Even if tempted, use the "free demo" version to get a feel for the game. The controls don't strike me as good as the old SM ones on the pc.

I see a lot of complaints about the bot AI

I was hoping it would be decent to make running the pve parts by yourself more fun

So is it worth $60 or just hold off from steam sales
It’s eurojank

The combat is clunky and the additions actually work against it. As it stands, PvP is the best part (for me) hopefully they clean up the combat and the weapon switching times. AI is bad and the campaign is only six missions.

Eternal War mode is fun though, probably more fun IF YOUR FUCKING LEGION IS IN THE GAME.

EDIT: Yeah I paypigged. Take my coverage and do what you gotta.
