There was that 4chan post about them supposedly wanting to turn 40k into a Magic The Gathering style business model. That Kill Team change sure fucking looks like how I'd do it if I had to think up a way to MTGify 40k.

Picture that, but with Combat Patrol boxed sets. You aren't meant to collect a 2000-3000 point Eldar Army, you're meant to collect a 500 point Eldar KT/Combat Patrol, a 500 point AdMech, maybe 500 points of Marines... because the more armies you collect the more likely you are to buy more stuff, even if you don't collect a huge force, and this lets them squat specific KT/CPs to push you into buying replacements. Plus, it's easier to balance since instead of having to worry about interactions between various HQ units and Troops and the like, you have a KT/CP and it's custom made to work with itself and nothing else.

The pvp mode for SM2 is below average. I think there's potential for them to add better modes of play but as it stands the balance is meh. Matchmaking isn't that quick, although voice chat is a thing surprisingly

You can die EXTREMELY quickly and the heavy gunner class is overpowered.

The longer I think on it the more mad at the internet I get. It’s just shameless money grabbing now. Kommandos, Vet Guard, and Legionnaires were beloved teams and now have a year left in tourny play, and let’s be honest local scenes follow tourny so close once off that classified list no one will want to play you if you have them. Chaos just getting their range gutted, chaos cult is a 3 box KT I think. Losing Orks just sucks, but I’m sure there will be a new jump pack model range coming so pay up piggies! Votann keeps 2 kill teams. Tau… well no love for all the marker light spam. Mechanicus just gone. At least I have older edition books and rules and maybe the single player will be interesting.

Fucking hate GW.

Feels like they’re just focused on releasing new teams for tournament play and abandoning older kill teams just to make sure players are constantly buying to stay competitiveView attachment 6387562
They're weeding out all personality until it's Ultramarines vs Stormcast. Fuck you troll, Stormcast have always been the enemies of the Ultramarines.

Spent the night playing Operations with my battle brothers, the sight of a Raven Guard sniper, a Blood Angels Reiver and my Black Templar (Initiate) Tactical marine fighting through the hordes and falling silent (no goofy gamer banter) as we worked in tandem is probably one of my favourite recent gaming memories. The three-man cap is ridiculous though.

That Hive Tyrant boss was awesome.
I actually like Chairon very much. Titus is the Man, but... from the main three, the bugman stole my heart.

Just look at him.

It does not help that he has the biggest case of puppy eyes in the cutscenes. They all had a very nice character development thorough the story, so that was just as nice.
He’s actually the strongest character, his aoe attack is devastating, whoever gets to play as him is the carry. The nigger just gets auspex which is not unique and just reused from the Tactical Marine in multiplayer.

Yeah, my opinion changed once the meta got figured out. That class better get nerfed.

After having spent some time with SM2, I'm happy with my purchase. I was shocked that this game ran on my shit PC to begin with.

I can safely say that a mini PC with a Ryzen 7 5800U (a CPU primary found in laptops), 16 gig of DDR3 RAM, and AMD integrated graphics rocking a whole 512MB of VRAM can play this game at a steady 40FPS on overall the lowest settings. Does it look like shit? Absolutely. But it RUNS on a machine I paid $400 for. Saber Interactive definitely picked up on some new optimization tricks working on World War Z, and it shows in Space Marine 2. This game made me finally decide to upgrade to a more modern system. I was probably going to need an upgrade sooner or later anyways, so fuck it.

I took a look at the demo. My impressions are fairly positive. It is easier to list the bad things than the good ones.

-The colour palette is dark, and tyranids don't stand out. Helmet hud or heat vision would have been nice, but you can set gamma up.
-Parry/dodge is a bit hit and miss mechanic. You are better off if your mouse has extra buttons and you reassign it there. The game is very high speed, or I am feeling my age, but it definately needs more button mashing than SM1, with a faster pace.
-Weapon Recoil and accuracy are a way too shitty when not aiming. In SM 1 you needed aim for headshots but could bodyshoot with regular mode. Now you won't hit unless you aim, and your gun feels really innacurate. Like you are an ork.
-Personal gripe I had with SM1 too, no map. Commander Pajeeta tells me to go east, which direction is east? Like in SM1 this isn't gamebreaking, just annoying.
-Enemies and you are both very suspectible to chained stun/knockback effects. You fuck up once, its over. You can also cheese this for enemies. Being stunlocked is not fun.

These are the only things I could find a problem with, and they could be fixed without much hassle, they are minor issues. It is definately more polished than the Ubisoft Star Wars turd. No bug, no crash.

The big things are:
-No Denuvo. Fuck Denuvo.
-No bugs, it can be played without needing a patch. Saber also isn't employing the tranny any longer.
-Don't want to give GW profits. Fuck Games Workshop.

If they added Mark 8 so that I don't need to Primaris, I would buy it. The asian and african guys are so far fine, normal 2000s companions and not CURRENT YEAR politics.

Games workshop won't let them add Mark 8 skin dlc. Saber did nothing wrong, but GW does everything wrong. I don't know how the pvp goes, how do they balance out primaris with Chaos, who have different classes? SM 1 had one to one analogues but Primaris fucks with that. If they can get over that hurdle, balancing classes isn't that big a hurdle.

I wouldn't put that as deal breaker for anyone, especially with pve mode in. I played Space marine 1 for years and had tons of fun without bothering much with the PVP besides unlocking new weapon traits and dropping it afterwards.

Edit: Gadriel is the asian guy. Chairon is the black guy.

I'm not giving GW any money even though I wanna play space marine two I'm just not gonna give them money cause of the female custodian thing I'll probably pirated eventually though

I've just been enjoying the parallel universe where the Tyranids actually get a decent hit on the spess mehreens for once.

It's been a long, oh, twenty years or so.

The AI is hit or miss when it comes to backing you up but I wouldn't say it's complete shit. The squad is fully capable of reviving you, staying alive and is generally accurate with fire and sword. They just tend to get overwhelmed by large waves and get distracted from backing you up or playing the objective.

The guardsmen are pretty great when they don't think it's a good idea to charge at the nids every now and then. Consistency of tissue paper though.

Looks like if you got the season pass, you also get early access.
Contrary to what people say, you actually get more than just early access if you bent the knee.

Dark Angel and Blood Angel packs are confirmed so far, Ultra pack is out already and Yiffs and Templars are undoubtedly on the docket.

The Codex Astartes does not support this action... But I am looking forward to it.

Also, FUCK YOU LEANDROS YOU GODDAMN NO FUN ALLOWED FAGGOT. Don't you dare think about bitching me out as potentially tainted after Calgar himself vouched for me, Chaplaincy or no you perpetually ass-mad loser.

SM2 actually looks fun and I'm glad the Chaos enemies aren't just generic Chaos Undivided like in older games. They'll never make a game with Slaanesh worshippers as the main villain though.

I think they will eventually. Realistically just toning it down slightly and focusing on a group like the emperor’s children that are more focused on pursuing perfection rather than rape and it wouldn’t be too hard
