I downloaded the "demo" but my performance is pretty bad. I did not have my drivers up to date and still have to try after that, but may need to drop it purely on how jank it is for me (audio cutting off, tyranids paralized and then teleporting and so on) and, may god have mercy on my soul, may need to start considering a new graphics card. Also, anybody playing it without everybody wearing their helmets at all times is doing it wrong.

I do wonder if that's actually the intended way. They put on the helmets for that jump pack sequence and then they magically disappear when they land, it was very jarring yet that seems to be the default mode.

So question, gonna be taking part in a Crusade play (never did this before) and gonna be running orks. So, anyone got any suggestions what units are best fit for this type of gameplay?
Honestly, crusade list building isn't too far off from tournament list building. The main difference is that some people may not bother pulling the sweatiest list they can off the internet. What I would do, and this isn't Ork specific, is spend a couple RP as quickly as you can to increase your supply limit by 200-400 points or so for a couple additional units of anti tank or chaff clearing, that way you can adjust your order of battle based on what the other players in the crusade are actually bringing along.

Avoid taking a ton of characters if you can reasonably do so to minimize the renowned heroes tax as you'll probably get more mileage out of using it to upgrade units.

Other than that, just be prepared for some weird missions, asymmetrical stuff at times, and even some insane units as the crusade goes on and people start earning xp for units and having them do some wild shit.

I played in a leviathan crusade league myself, other than some of the autists who want to make a 1000 point game take 4+ fucking hours, it was some really fun shit. I doubt the pariah nexus crusade pack would somehow be worse. But it's most likely going to boil down to who is actually participating.

Where I can download 10ed codexes? Not paying GW shit.
We don't pirate stuff here, and thus I would encourage you to give your friendly local gaming store your funbucks for a codex. 🌈 ❤️ :jew: :moneybags: :britishflag:

... I would certainly never point out that the 4chan /tg/ 40kg threads have regularly updated torrents and direct download links for every single codex going back to 1st edition Rogue Trader, which is where I'd look if I needed a codex. I certainly wouldn't point out the mega they link to has Custodes, AdMech, Agents, CSM, Dark Angels, GSC, Necrons, Orks, Tau, Tyranids, and the Rulebook all waiting for your download, while the Marines one is in the other

(Also some smartass should take 7th/8th/9th/10th whatever and make their own serial numbers filed off rulebook -- yes, I know One Page Rules exists, this would be different -- and release OpenHammer or TauHammer (for the greater good!) to the universe, permanently fucking GW out of control of their IP.)

I've started printing up an Imperial Knight force. There's a great Ortus_Forge_Armigers_Supported_bySaidon STL batch going around Telegram for the Armigers at the very least that you can print in two Saturn 4 Ultra plates -- one print for the sprue of common parts, one for the sprue of Helverine / Warglave / Moirax specific parts, or one BIG plate full of everything you need to make 1 (2?) Helverine or Warglaves at once. I'm going to figure out how to get at least one done and then do a test fit and paint. I figure I can mix up half, quarter, segmented, etc black and white and it'd generally look fine as long as the themes were fine across the entire knights.

Some discussion earlier in thread had me thinking of a Malal themed Knight army, since painted quartered white and black armor would be WAY easier on a knight.

My quick little my dudes pitch is "What if you were a group of loyalists who survived a bloody battle defending your world, only to discover the Imperium had written you off as acceptable losses, choosing to sacrifice you for your more prosperous and politically connected neighbors the greater war effort?" So in my mind you get some rather broken, hate filled Knights that are just shy of openly hostile to the Imperium, especially their neighbors, the kind that have taken secret oaths to royally fuck them all over when they can, but know they can't do it yet. White and Black quartered armor, iconography of a chain being broken, fire at the edges of shields and the like.

Didn't realize they're still missing their codex, that's hilarious, need to read the 9th edition codex to refresh my memory on the faction lore.

Only tangientially related to Warhammer and 40k, but Trench Crusade is starting its kickstarter, i know it was briefly discussed in this thread and its headed by a Mordheim designer. Im utterly curious if the drama will have an effect on its kickstarter reception

Trench Crusade is launching its kickstarter now, im utterly curious on if it still has maintained its buzz after the austistic drama where the people who were hosting the creators in their discord banned anyone to the right of Mao who were looking for an alternative to Warhammer products
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1405364378/trench-crusade Ive popped into the discord and it has alot of uwu they/thems in it alongside some regular people who refuse to even question it, although the discussions dont get too autistic, Norn Queen Alexis (now renamed Norn Queen Kya) still is a mod and still sometimes posts "uwu chuds dont want us girlies in the hobby" baitposts on reddit

A primer of that drama is below

He painted a bunch of space marines as fag flags, and called them "the gatecrashers chapter" or whatever the fuck.

The kek thing is, he doesn't get what a chapter is, and how they would need to be .... the same EC pink for that to work.

Kotaku has also noticed the Asmongold comment and reached out to Saber. Saber said "no comment" and the left is now seething.

For context, the dread comment was not a Politisperg le based manifasto, but "I want to make fun action games without political messages." . And Journos took that personally.

I find it disappointing that there's very few official armor permutations for the Space Marines given the extensive autism behind the lore of each chapter. I mean era specific stuff. Since the Primaris Marines are different than the ones that served during the horus heresy.

Its largely just a recoloring of the same handful of units outside of a few OCDONUTSTEEL badasses like psykers that are relevant to the lore with the alternate helmet they have. You'd think that the chapters more focused on fighting specific factions like Chaos would have iterated upon their chapter's armor to adapt to the threats they specialize in fighting.

Meanwhile Halo 3 had at least 7 for its Spartans and even more for Halo Reach that all had a simple flavor text paragraph quickly explaining where it was developed and what problem or role each armor piece was made to help with. At least there's always making custom miniatures.

I'm pretty sure that got written off as "technological stagnation" tbh
