Its the same reason Imperial Guard/Astra Militarium are shit at indirect fire. Focusing on deploying at the back of the map and killing everything that comes into view is a shit game to play for atleast one person every game. Players will optimize the fun out of a game if you let them, so half the challenge of making a game is giving them what they want without ruining it for everyone.
Indirect fire I get because it's something that's completely non-interactive. I think the changes to it were overblown but there's at least an argument. But shooting is half of the game and anyone other than maybe World Eaters are going to have some counterplay and shooting as well. As long as you have a decent amount of terrain, ruins alone keep armies from blowing the opponent off the table. Don't push every unit straight forward and you wont get tabled from a shooting army. 40k is a game about points anyways. Tabling your opponent will only get you so far when you need to have guys on points and complete secondaries. I think it's a fair trade if I'm going to sacrifice all my fighting then I don't see why I shouldn't have a really good shooting phase. A smart opponent can turn it around and cage the Tau until they can't break out.

Pretty sure the Tau still don't have a solid "melee wall" unit like most other races. The Eldar got Wraithblades (a buddy of mine fucking swears by his in his Eldar list) and the IG Bullgryns to serve as line breakers but the Tau get... Krootox Rampagers, which have a 5+ save and the magical ability to... force a morale test if the dice go your way. Yay.

feed the chad meme guy to the Kroot

One thing I found is that Cau Tau are annoying to fight in any game outside of the OG Tabletop. Deatchwatch pnp? A squad of fire warriors can be more threatening to your kill-team than most kind of enemies (unless you get them in melee OFC). Dawn of War? If you let a Tau player build up masses of fire teams, you're boned. Rogue Trader? Somehow the Tau player that was added shortly before the pnp was terminated can get a crisis suit by himself. I'm sure there are more examples you guys can think of.
When I learned they sacrificed the squats for these literal weaboos, my dislike over them grew immensely.

Oh, and as for the Adeptus Mechanicus not innovating, as mentioned they do, even if it's kept under wraps. The tech they hoard is ridiculously strong. The Mechanicus game has them using canon weapons that can obliterate necrons like cannons that create gravity distortions that crush armor, literal sunlight beams, advanced plasma weaponry, etc. They would be more than a match for the Tau and anyone else except the Necrons at their best, alas they don't share their tech because they can't reproduce it anymore/because grimderp.

There was like 8 or 9 years between the last Squat book and the Tau appearing, I don't think it was related.
if you go by when GW actually started removing squats in 1991(when they nuked 3/4 of the model range) rather than their last real support being in 1993 and eliminated in 1998 with 3rd edition, it's more like 10 years. That's why they even went with the tyranids eliminating the squats because the nids got their full support in 1993.

I doubt he'll hit that point, but it's definitely lolcow behavior. Same with that Midwinter Minis guy.

Nah. This guy is pretending to be some straight alpha turbo chad while being simultaneously gay as hell and I'm pretty sure either trying not to hide it or trying to get people to DM him. I say that due to the gay as fuck picture of him basically cuddling up next to 2 other dudes wearing pink cowboy hats and neckerchiefs.
What’s midwinter minis done.

I bet that Majorkill will launch an 40k themed OF when his ad revenue goes away.

GW is really trying to force T'au to be this weird close range shooting army. I get they probably do it to prevent people like me who want to turtle in the deployment zone and be an immovable wall of guns

I've also noticed this with Craftworlds. The warp spiders in particular, they have a melee-based loadout because GW insists they are "the melee ambush" aspect warriors. I hope I don't need to tell you what happens to a T3 unit in melee.

Listen it might not be a good idea but it is a very funny idea and that always had merit.
I'm sure my dead Kroot would be laughing too if any of them were able to make their 6+ FNP.

New balance dataslate just dropped this morning.

And funny enough a brand new T'au, Ork, and Custodes detachments dropped as well.

New T'au detachment adds 6" to all ranged weapons. The stratagems and enhancements are all just stat buffs so no fancy tricks with this one. Of course flamers get special treatment with a re-roll attacks stratagem. I guess this is basically our Bork'an detachment and it looks extra shooty. I got my eye on you GW...

I guess Imperial Knights are safe from changes till the new Codex drops...I'd like some proper infantry units if possible. I mean they got vassals and whatnot, they could probably theme them around that.

New Necromunda model that’s clearly a Blood Angels renegade

I love the passion and creativity the Necromunda team have/are allowed. I’m doing a side project for a friend, a motorcycle enthusiast and I’m gonna take his bike and 40k-ify it into a model. I got those Goliath brute choppers cause I’m sick of waiting for chaos bikers and I’m just gonna make a biker lord out of the spare for when that comes back.

Pretty fucking good. Honestly, those are some great kits. Only downside to Necromunda is the humans are a bit big.

I mean it works for the Escher chicks I got as cultists cause that’s how my legion rolls.
My Iron Hands praetor today. The fact it came in 3 weeks means 2 things:
1) Geedubs is getting better with their preorders
2) No one plays Iron Hands/Heresy
The majority of HH sales are proxies for 40k, if GW had any brains, they’d bring back Imperial Armor.

Also everyone’s on that glorious and perfect legion grindset now. Especially with their impressive size and all.

No they can reproduce the tech they do build new things trayvon the infinite constantly does but then again he is a weirdo who just like collecting things and is basically the 40K equivalent of a hoarder

He was talking about the Mechanicus having toys second only to the Necrons in being advanced, and just not sharing it with like IG.

My mistake but both factions can reproduce the technology the mechanic is actually probably has a bunch of stuff that only certain people in the imperium of man get to touch.
Also I'm still going to continue beating the dead hoist that a hammerhead is no match for Emperor Titan and fire warriors should be no match for space Marines.
Before people bring out the fact that guard have killed space Marines yes those are the best guard units in the imperium the first and only kadachan jungle fighters and Katy and shock troopers.
I would fully support these space liberals being completely destroyed they really don't fit the setting and they never have.

Then again I'm also someone who wants more guard models as well as a larger faction of chaos trader guard units.
But GW doesn't do things people actually want to buy they do things that no one wants to buy like the squats

And valhallans, and mordians, and cadians...

Anyone can kill a space marine in 40k if the space marine loses their plot armor because the writer wants them dead.
