Guess I'm saving money on nippers then.

Money isnt really an obstacle thankfully, more a treating myself to nice things. Its the reason I'm looking around at good hobby knives, mold line removers and nippers. Yeah I may not need them, but if it makes the hobby experience nicer/smoother, its worth a look at

Anyone know of any reputable EU sites that sell citadel paints? Amazon has a few, but I can only find individual paints for 8€ a piece, which is a massive ripoff.

Warhammer.com ?

In all seriousness Element Games I think is where Auspex Tactics links people to, they have a pretty good selection. https://elementgames.co.uk/paints-hobby-and-scenery/paints-washes-etc/citadel-games-workshop-paints

IIRC if you hit up one of his videos he has an 15% off coupon in his descriptions, and he's not a complete tard (he's literally never mentioned anything not just straight data in his videos ever, he's pathologically allergic to drama it seems).

There's a ton of sites that give full discounts depending on location. It's 20% inside the UK and 15% elsewhere. Anything more is either a scam or recast.

The best things you can invest in to enjoy the hobby even more: good sable brushes (pricey at the moment), a nice comfortable chair that will let you recline back and use your armrests as support, a couple of daylight-LED lamps.
The only mold lines that might give you trouble are hard to reach or curved ones, and if you check out a gunpla hobby shop you might come across a set of curved mold line removers, although these are nothing you can't take care of using your knife:

Which colors, maybe we can find an alternative on a different paint range.

I expect lingo to change and develop with every generation. Everyone has it but if it's organic it's because it's some reference to a meme or pop culture that at least points to an origin.
crashout is a black people thing that whitey took from black twitter, because america worships niggers etc etc.

Fabius is mostly persona non grata to the EC these days because he refuses to believe in Slaanesh and tends to screw them over somehow every time they go to him for help. Julius is a daemon prince now, so he's probably off doing his own thing. Eidolon not being there is weird, since he founded the Phoenix Conclave specifically because he was trying to reunite the Legion and awaiting Fulgrim's return, but who knows why they made that decision. It's definitely also weird that Lucius wasn't there, though.
are the EC books on the whole good? I've read the Fabius Bile books, and Genefather, unfortunately that's as far as I've delved into EC lore. Any good starting points would be cool as well. 30k or 40k, doesn't really matter to me. I'm still working on getting through the Hyperion series before I start Dark Imperium to read up on DG and UM, but I don't have anything planned after that.

Turns out when you forget to insert the chapter insignia to the most holy of the Omnissiah's tools, a legendary glyph appears in it's place. Forohfor, the symbol of the Omnissiah's infinite patience. He will wait until you put in the proper data slate. He has nothing but time. (But your Magos is waiting so hurry the fuck up.)

Also. Sneed. Created straight from Null's avatar. You can set a negative height and it carves into the surface instead.

Someone get me some line art of the Sonichu medallion, heh.

The 5th book from the HH series Fulgrim is decent(mostly about his captains and how the legion fell). The short story about Fulgrim in HH book 20 is about his captains capturing him and sticking things up his ass.

Lord of Excess is worth the read and so is Eidolon's solo novel that came out last year. I also liked the new Fulgrim novel well enough.

Transfers probably not, because you're going to end up with the backing medium whatever that happens to be adding thickness to it, plus being visible. Banners? There's a lot of ways to do them, including with color laser prints that you could just arrange a sheet of and go print a single page for 40 cents or whatever at the local office supply store.

Fulgrim: The Palatine Phoenix, shows his inferiority complex, is chronologically the earliest Fulgrim is ever depicted. This is pre-Laer Fulgrim, charming, skilled, slick, intelligent and very insecure.

The EC then have a presence in the first three HH books, specifically Saul Tarvitz, Lucius and Eidolon.

HH5: Fulgrim, is the downfall in all it’s glorious detail, easily my favourite of the main HH books, holy fuck is it a wonderful serving of dark comedy and shock value. Lucius of all people talking to a woman who’s screaming rape is certainly a vibe. Also contains depictions of both Istvaan battles, it’s a lot in one novel.

Reflection Crack’d, a short story, Lucius and the boys decide to perform an exorcism and naturally it’s an abject failure. Easily the most shocking EC moment.

Angel Exterminatus, the EC, now fully degenerated, go on a road trip with the Iron Warriors, shenanigans happen, very funny. Their depiction gets soft-retconned in Path of Heaven.

The Eternal Blade, an audio drama that sets up what Lucius gets up to and why he’s in Crimson King, after that novel, he’s out of the Heresy.

Path of Heaven, Lord Commander Eidolon becomes the EC main character and is hunting the Khan, they are more reigned-in and still a legion in this one, very good showing of the rot consuming the legion.

The Soul, Severed, Eidolon audio drama, explains the origin of the 40k colour scheme and shows how they settle disputes, foreshadowing the future chaos warbands.

Eidolon: The Auric Hammer, Eidolon’s various characterizations are expertly written together while him and his men get fleshed out and deal with daemonic shenanigans.

Saturine: Fulgrim and Eidolon show up to job to the pissbois, ignore this one.

Fabius Bile: Repairer of Ruin, an audio drama setting up Talon of Horus and shows a Fabius markedly different from his depiction in his novels, branches the HH and 40k characterizations. Manic and crazy, but driven to do more.

Lucius the Faultless Blade: Pure EC 40k-era lunacy, very good showing of why Lucius is top-dog in the legion. He’s also very funny in how gleefully douchey he is.

Lord of Excess, a retard EC lord larps as Homelander for immense comedic effect. Has a tie-in short story explaining how Xantine got a daemon gf.

Fulgrim: The Perfect Son, the newest novel has Fulgrim holding a “contest” to determine who shall be his champion. Feels like the EC version of “Storm of Iron” but nowhere near as good.

My book journey has been fun.

After Soul Hunter I decided I'd just jump into the Heresy to give myself a break from Talos and the gang. Only did 2 before I jumped to something else to give that a break too, but I fuckin love it so far. Already know the broad strokes of things and they still manage to make me like Horus and feel like shit over his fall. Also "Kill For The Living, Kill For The Dead" is the coolest fucking shit I've ever heard.

Then I went to Helsreach. The Templars were one of the first actual chapters I was drawn to when I got into Space Marines and that seemed like mandatory reading. 10/10. Not much else to say other than Andrej is one of the most likable characters I've ever read and I'd love if he popped up in more stories. Grimaldus' speeches feel very "and today is our Independence Day" which was very cheesy in a good way.

After Helsreach I just threw a dart at a random chapter and landed on the Carcharodons. Red Tithe was wonderful, and the Night Lords showed up again the cheeky little fuckers. Wasn't too interested in the NL plot line but their interactions were really enjoyable. The Carcharodons themselves were fascinating and I'm definitely looking forward to reading the, what, one other novel and a couple short stories? Bummer.

Currently I'm taking a break from Space Marines, but I swapped them out for the SoB so lol. Had zero idea were to start so I just picked something that seemed cool, and chose Book of Martyrs. Liking it so far. I find myself chuckling at the constant "and then she prayed/said a small prayer". These cunts pray more in 10 minutes than I do all month.

Finish the first 5 heresy books. and then it's your choice what you read in the heresy. I recommend the vengeful spirt 10/10 heresy book fuck loads of action heaps of cunts die Horus fucking beats the shit out of something cool (not gonna reveal what). Before reading the vengeful spirt you must read the Nathanal Garrow omnibus, will make the side plot thing better and more tragic at the end.

If you work or study at a computer, I actually recommend the audio books for the heresy the narrator is good. I also highly recommend Betrayer 10/10 world eaters and word bearers rape the fuck out of the ultramarines. The other lead up books like betrayal at calth are okay but you can just read betrayer without it. they are still good books, but Betrayer is peak, and you don't really need to read the others unless you love daemons and word bearers Talmudic trickery. reading about ultramarines does suck though they get kinda boring and predictable. but world eaters are kino.

I recommend all the space wolves VS thousand son's books. Ancient Egyptian Space mages vs space Vikings is based. Night Lords are neglected badly in heresy they basically show up as villains of the week and get raped by everyone they fight. they aren't portrayed well at all in the heresy books. the only real heresy book they are in as the main bad guys is Pharos... The concept of Pharos is cool and parts of the book go hard but its overall a mid book, read it if you love nightlords.

The mechanicum books goes Hard. so read mecahanicum.

You should finish the night lord's series. it's so good it's my favorite Warhammer books. 15 hours is a 10/10 Warhammer 40k book, its about a guardsman's first 15 hours in combat. its kino! The witch hunter series is really good even if you don't like WHFB it will make you like WHFB. read the short stories as well.

I actually recommend the audio books
That's what I've been doin. The narrators have been good across the board. Particularly in Helsreach and Red Tithe. I do plan on finishing the NL trilogy. They're sneaking up on my list of legions. Lovable losers is what they are to me so far.

TSons were probably the next legion I was going to do because Space Egyptians is fuckin cool as. Another one of the chapters that really drew me in. And I've also been lookin to bite the bullet on the Wolves because I find Russ to be an interesting character, even if his legion is silly.

Speaking of silly, the Alpharius novel was a good one. I see why the meme was/is so prevalent. I also see why people dump on the Alpha Legion. They're fucking nerds and their Primarch(s) are geeks. But I like that. They're fun and their bullshit let's you just do whatever you want with them. Loyalist? Sure why not. Renegade? Yep. Chaos? You bet. Doing their own thing entirely? Probably. Plus their design is top tier.

I wasn't expecting Tau to show up in this Martyrs book, and I already don't like them. Which since this is from the perspective of a Sororitas I guess that's the point, but still. They did a good job cause I wouldn't mind checking some stories where they get fuckin bodied. And it's not like I think they're shit characters, far from it. They're just perfectly insufferable.

I'm also surprised there hasn't been a SoB game yet. Just make them hot and do Space Marine again and you'd make a killing. But then again, maybe not the best idea considering.
just be mindful if you're getting into the Thousand Sons novels that the voice the narrator uses for Ahriman is really, really bad.
Yeah I've already found quite a few voices that I don't think worked too well. Not enough to take me out or be grating, thankfully, but maybe Ahriman will be the one. Would feel fitting somehow.

I mean...they have that one VR game Battle Sister. Though if we're talking about priority games for 40k I think a straight up Battlefield clone with the Guard is up there. I guess Eternal Crusade thought it's be something like that? I'm not asking to reinvent the wheel, just use a formula that works, and put a lasgun in it.

They've currently got three novels, two by Robbie MacNiven and one by Edoardo Albert, and there's apparently a third MacNiven novel on the way this year, which will hopefully finally tie up the story he's been working on. Sadly the Albert novel kinda sucks; he doesn't really seem to get the Carcharodons the way MacNiven does. The short stories by MacNiven are also pretty good, but one of the others is only like five pages long and the other one was also written by Albert.
