I mean...they have that one VR game Battle Sister. Though if we're talking about priority games for 40k I think a straight up Battlefield clone with the Guard is up there. I guess Eternal Crusade thought it's be something like that? I'm not asking to reinvent the wheel, just use a formula that works, and put a lasgun in it.
There's a few 40k mods for Arma 3 that I've heard have varying levels of jank with some being liked, but I couldn't tell ya much beyond that.

I think there’s one for Squad too. Also a Star Wars clone war one too.

Biggest issue with some milsim style mods is there’s never really a player base outside of clans. And I’m just the type refusing to do that because it gives fat neverbeens way too much power as they rise through the discord ranks and become insufferable.

ARMA is nothing but jank. Even if ARMA 3 is an improvement over ARMA 2 it still runs like shit, feels like playing underwater, has awful hit reg, everything lags, and is the most user un-friendly game I've ever played. It's not the kind of game you can download your mod, boot up, and jump right in. You need to do homework to understand the menus, the controls, and a wiki to understand what you're even meant to be doing. I get it's more of a sandbox than a game, but the onboarding process makes it so unplayable that I don't understand how people get into it.

Squad does a much better job of making it clear how you get into a game, and what you're meant to be doing. My main issue with Squad is that it's a pixel shooter. Somehow everyone else can spot a single soldier, crawling through bushes, several kilometers away, and put a bullet in his head using only iron sights. I'll play a game and spend the whole round never seeing a single enemy but still manage to get killed. I'd grab medic as soon as possible so I could just play doctor and have an excuse to hang back.

I'm a glutton for punishment and massively retarded, so I like checking out the Space Marine sub. I've also noticed a sizable upswing in people being VERY angry over modded game posts. Users on the sub unironically telling people posting about the Astartes Overhaul Mod to fuck off and post to the Space Marine Mods sub instead even though it's basically dead. And their reason for this hostility? The mods make them feel bad because it reminds them how much less they have in the vanilla game :story:

And they aren't saying this over the new classes or weapons in the mod. They're saying it over the customization freedom the mod gives. And everytime someone makes a mod post and says something simple like "idk why we can't have all chapter/campain/squad badges available on both shoulders and knees" they get hit with "uhm it's because GW said no/actually the mod authors said they don't like it when you compare their mod to what the devs do/why does it matter/lol you want more dress up in the shooting game".

How shocking. People want more customization options in the game where playing dress up is the only way to keep things fresh. It's almost like playing dress up with your dudes is the entire point of the fucking hobby anyway.

I'm not asking to reinvent the wheel, just use a formula that works, and put a lasgun in it.
That's the rub, innit? Just do popular thing, but Warhammer. Yet this seems to be some sort of forbidden fuckin knowledge to GW.

I saw a video talking about those blessed autists in the Modcanicus getting Terminators of all things up and running in-game. The homo making it outright said “to remember the devs are limited by GW and budget,” which is so fucking gay.

The devs are incompetent retards who break matchmaking everytime a new mission is added, have no idea what they’re doing and placated the difficulty autists while making a space marine game that plays like Dark Souls, complete with dodge-rolling in Gravis armor.

Bit of a long-shot but does anyone know of a recaster that does old 3rd edition Inquisition Stormtroopers? I recently got about 30 in a trade but some are missing pieces, and the units need some special weapons and an extra sgt. to fill them out properly.

So, I ended up in a OnlyWar TTRPG game. We're playing as Vallhallas and our squad is made off: A drunk comissar, a drunk weapon specialist, a zealot priest, a somewhat chill operator and felinid druggie medic (me). An our first enemies gonna be Orks.

This is about the closest I can find. Not the exact set that was released, but its the correct armour and loadout. If you dig around that site you might find individual ones listed like these.

I can't recommend these guys enough. Best recasts on the market imo.

That priest is so fucking dead.
Surprisingly, during our 1st fight (since most players are new to the system), he managed to fry several orcs with his flamer, while I managed to damage a killkan with a krak grenade an our driver made a wall of fire (we were given a chimera) to force the orks to move around it, thus getting shot by our comissar and soldier, an then an Ork Trukk arrived.

Only war burned our DM out so much we went back to Dark Heresy. He just couldn’t handle our rolls and the narrative on a battle side scale. We also went through characters quick so it dragged things down too.
We're kinda approaching the whole game with some humor, which I think makes it easier for us not wanting to lose our PC's so quickly. Frankly, I will say def having a better time than I did with DeathWatch.

Kinda a shame that OW was shafted due to being one of the final products before the line closed IIRC. Balance was bonkers, and the sourcebooks included increasingly over-the-top character builds that clearly no-one playtested. An Ogryn Bonehead that dual-wields Eviscerators that can one-shot nearly everything in melee? Sure. What about a priest that burns stuff really, really good and can cause Fear on enemies? Of course!
Or a sniper that can use a lascannon as a sniper rifle (and better at it than the ratling specialist)? Hell yeah!
Shame the Commissars and others got nothing, although I dunno what could you have given to these guys.

Or in general. A buddy I know online told me a guy he knows was thinking of making a 40k mod for the first Company of Heroes. I bet you're thinking that it would make for a sweet tactical game of IG versus some mortal servants of Chaos, right? I mean hell, there's even an entire Crusade that's basically WW2 in space after all. Turned out the dumbass wanted to make it SM vs. CSM.

I could see SM or CSM being high tier elites you could bring about in limited amounts. They're borderline armored vehicles if you're looking at the scale of CoH. It'd be a horrid nightmare to model and actually portray though.

I think you could make a good CoH mod using the campaign on Vraks. You've got outright heretics, less wholly chaotic rebels, Kriegers, a smattering of CSM warbands, a few SM chapters, and a fuckload of vehicles. No way in hell you're accurately using CoH to portray the Titan battles but that's a given.

Yeah, SM in general would be a bitch, especially because there's limited animation sets and the like for people to actually play with. Nobody figured out how to add new infantry anims to CoH 1, which is why the WW1 mod has trench raiders using the grenade throw anims for their shovel attacks. So you could just skip that and go for a campaign that very, very explicitly has very, very few Marines on either side of it: the Sabbat Worlds Crusade, especially since Dan Abnett is infamous for his love of the two world wars. For fuck's sake you could even reuse a bunch of the existing assets since the Chaos forces love using halftracks and casemated tanks since they're cheap, the Blood Pact canonically all wear Stahlhelms, and since LMG's seem to be used way more than heavy bolters by both sides you can just reuse those as well, stick the MG42 and MG34 on the Chaos side and the Bren and Brownings on the IG one.
