I still collect models I like but there's no denying that the setting I liked died with 8e. Mostly I just pretend everything primaris related never happened.
Not to mention the raping the Horus Heresy received, especially when they got to the Siege of Terra and all the authors seemed to go insane after seeing the opportunity they had to fuck with one of the most important moments in the setting.

It is what it is brother, the first siege of terra book is considered one of the best in the siege of terra series, it's the only one I've read and it's Grim how bad it is. Just so stupid and weird how bad the siege of terra books are.

You might wanna check facebook for groups that play the editions of games you like, 6th ed whfb has an active community in the UK and Australia, so does 2nd edition 40k and there has been 3rd, and 5th ed groups popping up. But the mainline games are well and truly raped with all the tranny freak primaris shit and all the nigger faces that get painted onto models.
 
Assembled my first set of minis, pretty painless process though I'm already dreading painting them as my hands are shaky af.

Anyone here plays modded DoW 1/2? What mods do you recommend? I used to play UA for the former but it was crashing laggy piece of shit, I installed Codex mod for the latter recently but it's also a crashing laggy piece of shit.
Also, I refuse to play Unification because of al the anime fanfiction that the tranny devs keep inserting in.

There's a ton of ways to mitigate shaking hands. I have it really bad so when I need to paint fine detail I hold my breath or pinch your fingers together tightly.

Firestorm over Kronus was my go-to mod for Dark Crusade. It got a port to Soulstorm with Firestorm over Karivar or whatever the planet was called in that game. Basically makes all the units true scale with tabletop stats but we never finished.

There was also a camera mod that allowed for more zoom.

Not really a mod, but at the time there were a bunch of chapter related mods. Stuff like Angry Marines, Lazy Marines, and other memes of the time I'm sure aren't funny any more. I distinctly remember a mod for Fchan marines (Fchan was a furry site back in the day). There was also a mod that changed the colour picker to be GW paints of the day, as well as options for various flags and decals.
 
I love endlessly undermining our DM in Dark Heresy. He lays an obvious trap for us apart of an investigation so we end up setting an ambush to draw the forces out and pick them clean. He tries to make us choose which targets to hit across the planet so we split the party and grab them both. His plan was for us to investigate just how deeply the PDF was aligned with a chaos governor so we instigated a war between the PDF and Guard forces instead.

Airbrush or large brush base colour, then struggle with shaky hands on detail. If you fuck up, just paint over the fuck up. Theyre small mistakes. Ive gone back and forth a few times on small mistakes.

Or you can try those gundam pens ive seen shilled. Basically paint in pen form for highlighting or trim. No experience with it myself but its something to look at maybe

My only war group has two psychos in it, and they constantly just rain down fire and make it rain blood. And then one of the characters has to do a bunch of paperwork and dr photographs so they don't get shot by the inquisition.
Another group we are the worst stealth troopers in the world because no one took any points into stealth besides what the regiment gets. Everyone only has stealth at about 30.
Also, why is security and tech use different skills? and survival and navigate? and interrogation and insight. agility, athletics and Dodge.


Also, floppy is biodeserved to be turned into a whimpering pro-feminist weirdo. He really is a cliche and a terrifying coat. I'm in know the altar is probably trying to inject woke nonsense, but he kinda undermined his case, cuz flavious bio is objectively an awful human being.
 
Fabius was ruined by his books, especially when you remember that due to the warp time-distortion, less than fifty years prior he was devolving marines into living weapons that he also called “New Men,” was responsible for the EC fall was much as the Blade, Fulgrim and Eidolon were and turned his brothers into the sense freak perverts he supposedly hates. He was the one who pioneered rewiring their pleasure centres.

Even in the audio drama “Repairer of Ruin,” he is talking to a WE, he Igored and removed the nails from.

“War of the Spider” was a much better showing for Fabius, manipulating everyone, making monsters and getting away with everything, including Custodes raw materials.

I really enjoyed his portrayal in Genefather tbh, but I was completely ignorant to his previous lore other than his earlier appearances at the beginning of the Heresy series. If what you're saying is true though, they definitely retconned the living fuck out of him him and his works.

It’s only in his trilogy, which GW meddled with (thankfully) to hard course-correct in the third book. Every other appearance he’s the amoral puppetmaster who was one of the first heretics, who like Erebus, didn’t need persuasion or corruption to be rotten.

You want Fabius at his apex? “Fulgrim” and “Angel Exterminatus” have got you covered. For modern Fabius, “Lucius: The Faultless Blade” has a much better showing, living in a bio-horror starship that doesn’t reek of the warp, which itself disturbs Lucius.

What is he like in the first two installments of his trilogy? I read Fulgrim, and he was interesting enough as a side-character to the side-characters. Can't say I remember much about his part in Fulgrim other than "amoral scientist who is happy to do whatever he can to practice his craft, even if it is in the service of evil forces he once detested". I liked his part in Genefather because he was a scumbag bastard lunatic
who was nevertheless a genius who wouldn't spitefully destroy a masterpiece such as Alpha Primus, even if it was a tool in the hands of an enemy.

What if I told you that Fabius in his trilogy, despite living in the Eye of Terror, denies the existence of gods and is allowed to persist in that state, on a Daemon World, churning out Halo Spartans that have both genders and despite having no power armor or special weapons, are designed to hunt Astartes?

He openly questions why the Emperor only uplifted one gender, has a tough as nails surrogate “daughter,” is nice to these things (Gland Hounds they’re called) and has a quirky bunch of misfit apothecaries from all legions.

The warband of EC that follow him let themselves be led by a human woman (would never happen, EC are the most chauvinistic marines) and Fabius himself is rewritten as a “greater good” type of character and not a sociopathic monster with a god complex.

Book 3 is literally all of that being undone and him falling in line and serving his place in the cosmic design. The author seethed that GW made him fall in line and made it a plot point.
 
If 8e is The Best and where the series was last good, then why dont more people just play 8th? The game isnt deleted, its recent enough to be easilly accessible with a little work. Theres not even a decent sized community for 8th or previous editions.

It's going to be a half-assed FemStodes HQ just to say a model exists. I don't want it to be, but, it makes the most sense if GW is going to be stuck with that lore change. A full range of FemStodes, like snipers or something, that would be too much effort (supposedly any new models take ~3 years from art to sprue) but a single rushed HQ might not be impossible, especially if they go the Forge World route. (Except supposedly the HH/FW team hates the fuck out of the FemStodes idea so who knows?)

I'd say it's a mix of laziness with sunken cost fallacy. Since they buy the new models which are only valid in the newer edition, why play older editions if my new thing isnt there? Plus, I highly doubt this generation would be creative & dedicated enough to do something like The 9th Age crew did after GW killed Fantasy.

Funnily enough though, MWG has started doing videos where they play older editions of Warhammer.
