The Fimir mod for Total Warhammer is really good, if you ignore the fact that one of the Lords has the voice of a Kislevite Hag. The way the authors write the Fimir is perfect, when they're not taking lines directly from Oldhammer, describing them as an intrinsically inferior culture who survives through sheer moral ugliness. They are lazy and lack the kind of agency that attracts the Chaos Gods; much like Skaven, they are all copies of a core concept and lack the freedom of choice that makes human souls such a prize. They live in ruins simply because they see no point in beauty, not like Beastmen who recoil at it out of a sense of shame. Fimir simply don't understand it, like humans looking at a bower bird nest. They're alien and strange.

I love that shit.

For any Americans interested, Target has started selling the "Dawn of War: Onslaught" board game which has the entire Honoured of the Chapter ($180) sprue for $50. Might be worth checking if nearby stores still have them since they seem to be drying up.

That's a rather significant amount of HQ.

That's a decent deal on GW plastic for a sprue GW doesn't seem to want to re-mold and split up. Judiciar alone is stupidly expensive on ebay($60+ for some of the listings).

I mean it wasn't enough that they got a Chapter Master, Chaplain, Librarian, Captain and Scout Sergeant?
Two words as to why: Matt Ward. /TG/ is still salty as fuck over the man and I don't blame them, especially since his taint hasn't fully been expunged thanks to the other Chapters continuing to get the shaft.

I have taken more time and made another custom chapter for the Deathwatch RPG. This time the Nemesis Chapter: the grim sons of Ultramar dedicated to destroying their enemies to the last through the most extreme of armaments. Enjoy, and as always feel free to throw some feedback my way.

I remember my only Deathwatch campaign

The Malevolent and the Salamander eventually became the best of friends and were both permanently assigned to the Watch in their endings because of their respective chapters looking down on their beautiful post-racial friendship. The grounds for their friendship? They both did not want to be in the Watch.

The Templar attained glorious martyrdom and was made into a Deathwatch dreadnought. His tech marine lied to him that the Templars wanted him to continue his mission and not that the Watch wasn’t ready to give up such a specimen.

The Raven deserted and decided to go be an actual Native American on a feudal world, his faith in the Imperium shattered after the Malevolent and the Templar destroyed a hive city, the Templar wanted it purged for “dysgenic makeup and insults to the human form” and the Malevolent was feeling lazy and wanted the mission over.

The Flesh Tearer (Alpha Legion gay op) was never activated and his player had to spend the whole two sessions as a Flesh Tearer because the DM was not humouring his OC.

Lasted two whole sessions before it went off the rails.

What would you consider to be your favorite 40k art pieces? these paintings are insane to me ik adrian smith is the one who painted the famous horus vs the emperor piece right?
Honestly I think 8th edition Codex covers were peak 40k. I think they're all bangers. As a xenos lover Necrons, T'au, and Craftworlds really stand out to me. I absolutely love the bold use of saturated colors, deep shadows, and contrasting bright sparks of energy. I think framing your art is just as important as the art itself, which is why I always despise full page art. In 8th edition each codex has the same sort of ebony galaxy frame, but had a unique faction border to add some extra flair. I'm aware that most of this artwork didn't originate from 8th edition but fuck you, this is my pick.

My last pick is going to be this piece which I swear is also from 8th edition but I can't remember what it was used for, google isn't super clear, and I can't be too bothered to figure it out. I just know it's called "There is Only War" by John Michelbach and GW sells prints of it.

Not my absolute favourites but two pieces I definitely like for different reasons:

Good book, cool piece of art, and I actually won a really nice frame print of this from my local GW and it was on my wall for years. Unfortunately I'm not sure where it's at these days.

Love me some space vikings. This piece of art was actually directly responsible for getting me back into 40k during 5E, after several years away. Got stuck in a queue in a newsagents so I was browsing magazine covers to pass the time and there was a WD with this on the cover talking about the upcoming SW release and I picked it up on a whim.

I believe "There is Only War" is the cover of the rulebook, or used in the color pages or something. I definitely recognize it from the 8E rulebook...

Do any of yall like AoS at all? some of the minis for it are really cool imo, and the spearhead boxes seem like a good deal for 20-25 minis especially if you play an army of chaos faction in either. Could buy tzeentch spearhead and use tzaangors and screamers from it. Not enough of an interest in AoS to do that, but it's intriguing. Soulblight gravelords are cool too but i'm playing a vampire counts campaign in total war rn so maybe it's all recency bias.

This piece of art for the 9th edition AdMech codex is one of my fave pieces of 40k art ever. Crazy how such a dark, atmospheric piece of art was made for just a dogshit edition.

Aos is fine but spearhead is great! I've found that it's simple enough that I can play with family and friends who have no interest in larger scale wargaming. The sculpts being as cool as they are is enough to get some people interested in painting, but the lower total model count makes it less overwhelming for a beginner to paint. I've also noticed more normies are into fantasy than sci Fi, but that might just be my area.

"GW announced selling their own licensed helmet"
So?
"3d printing is so amazing"
What does that have to do with anything?
"We like DIY cosplay"
Ok, but you were SELLING the models and printed products
"we had to take down products and cancel future plans"
That's the point of a C&D instead of being slapped with a lawsuit
"I have no ill will... ...we just filled a void"
By commercially selling products based off of their IP
"If GW came to us and said we want to take your stuff and make it our stuff I'd be all for that, getting an actual licensing deal from GW is not as easy as it might sound"
But it wasn't your stuff, it was theirs, and why would they want to do business with you when you stole it? Can you even mass produce the product instead of just relying on a print farm if they even wanted to? Let me check the website
Please allow 2-3 weeks build time as each helmet is made to order.
So the answer to that is clearly a no.
"We're friends with Trench Crusade"
Yeah, I'm sure you faggots are. Claiming they're interested in hiring people to do cosplay and partner with them wait... so it isn't that you could just make shit for TC... you have a business partnership with TC? That's not a nicer or more modern take on anything, that's called starting out doing shit legally in the first place.

What a bunch of faggotry. Even reddit thinks it's dumb and manipulative comparing it to that retarded etsy seller who was selling console gamepad shells that clearly infringed on IP they didn't have licenses for.
