My aspiring sorcerer came with an option for either a warpflame pistol or this hand with the eye in it. Naturally, I chose the ladder. Is that just shooting myself in the foot with the model since he has no gun now?
If you're not playing in big tournaments, WYSIWYG isn't important(and even then people aren't likely to care unless it's shit that can get mixed up like not knowing which rubric marine actually has a boltgun or flamer). If it becomes an issue somehow, find a holstered pistol and put it on his waist. If that's not doable for some reason, 1d6 of shots wounding most things on a 5(it's a strength 3 gun)... so average of 3.5 hits round that down to 3, wounding on 5s so 2/3 of your hits aren't going to be wounding anyway. Even against a toughness 3 target(guardsman, eldar, etc.) that's still wounding on a 4 so half of your average of 3 hits is going to not wound so you wouldn't exactly be missing a whole lot.

Has anybody ordered art from GW's official store before? I'm strongly considering picking up one or two pieces, but for the prices they want I expect it to be top quality. I've never dealt with GW's customer support before so if it comes damaged I don't know how much trouble they'll give me for a replacement.

If you're having stuff sent to your home address it'll take anywhere up too a week to arrive and don't expect pre orders to arrive on release date either. If you want to use it call up your local GW, find out what day they receive their restock and get your order in a day a or two before and pick it up from store.
Never had to call up about broken or missing parts but from what I've heard they're pretty good with that.

I don't have a local Warhammer store unfortunately. A week's wait isn't bad at all. It's not like I'm in any rush for a painting. It's $61, over half the cost of the art itself, just in shipping which is crazy. As long as they're good on getting it to me in good condition I'm willing to splurge on something nice and change out some of the art in my bedroom. The hardest decision is going to be choosing which pieces and what kind of frame. I think I'm leaning towards one of the canvas prints.

The hand with the eye in it is is the only correct option, because now he's permanently doing the David Blaine 'Shazam' motion.

Sorry if I missed it posted here, but I ran across a Tom and Don (Flashgitz) video on WH40K cinematics. It's funny listening to Tom opine on the glory days of getting bullied for bringing his books to school. They actually get pretty into the details of the artistic choices if you're into that sort of thing.

Tom's opinions of Dawn of War's intro cinematic are spot-on. For the time, it was an amazing representation of how one would visual a tabletop battle coming to life.

Hobby tourist faggots of the highest order. I don't care how long you've been playing, if you automatically think the Imperium is fascist, kill yourself. The Imperium is the farthest thing from fascism you can possibly get.
Also, one thing I hate is the Chaos deistic Machina powers they give it, they're just super good at scrap code when they attack Forge worlds, even though it stayed several times that Forge worlds are hardened against that attack. But it works anyways, because Chaos has actually no actual other way of attacking the Imperium without bullshit powers.
To Forge rolls that have existed for 10,000 years, you know they're just extremely vulnerable to scrap code attacks. Bad writing.

How Peter Ferrari. writes chaos should be the standard. It exists, but it's not this overpowering thing that you cannot resist.

The biggest issue in the hobby is the idea/meme that everyone are a villain, especially the Imperium. Yeah they aren't nice, but if you are a human they are pretty much your best chance for survival, and how bad your life is incredibly dependent on what planet you got to be born on.

Why write actual logistics and intricacies when you can have Chaos basically pull a No U card and immediately subvert a planet and its population? It's especially annoying how the Imperium itself has worse logistics than the crazed maniac zealots.

At least the Night Lords will have a few people true to Curze’s vision that make sense.

You have to understand these people can’t separate fantasy from their own personal politics. In their minds the Imperium should be a democracy run by fags and brown people to push back against evil (which is fascism). They can’t separate that from the reality of 40K where the Imperium as is, is the only logical conclusion to preserving and saving humanity. If they even, for a second, admit that’s the case they’re giving “fascism” a foothold in their mind.

Pretty much same thing with Mary Sue the ever chosen. Basically one of the most uninteresting characters and the reason for him or fantasy had to die. Even though every single game based on Age of Sigmoid is a complete and utter flop. And every game based on Warhammer Fantasy is a massive success Warhammer. Total War. Vermontide.
Same thing with Abaddon, the pants spoiler you should really just have his throat slit by either Gilliman or the Lion. And stop giving chaos any wins. Especially when they wet. The world. Edo's Primark beat people in space battles. Yeah, that guy. He's well known for great tactical brilliance in space battles.

Also, the devastation of ball should have been saved by a shadowy figure who is definitely not the return sanguineous, then a bunch of shadowy looking creatures that were totally not demonic. Emperor demons not. Reboot de Gilliam

Seriously, no one even plays ultra Marines, and people are fucking tired of the ultra Marines. The only reason the ultra Marines.are even slightly in this interesting is thanks to. Captain Titus.

Also something that would be cool but GW would never do it is have the clone Fulgrim. beat the living piss out of the actual Fulgrim.
Another thing, in one of the Acadia book series, why the hell would the children's of Malice even help Chaos attack Cadia? Well, the Katie and Shock troops attacked them as they yeah, but they still fucking hate Chaos.'cause the patriot God hates chaos.

I'll say one thing, the Night Lord's always done dirty. Especially the death of St characters. He was somewhat interesting and there was an interesting back and forth he was having with that creepy lady who was falsely accused in one of the books he was the villain in. But then he just gets his ass kicked by some bitch and power. I don't even know how One Night Lord Strike Cruiser can even invade Ophelia 7.

The point being, the Night Lords keep getting shafted. Same thing with the. Alpha Legion. Really, they should just make the Alpha Legion canonically bore to the Emperor, but not the Imperium. That would make them more interesting. Also make it canonical that Omega And alpharius

Even CSM fans hate Abaddon because he’s synonymous with the “we hate chaos and it’s a tool, we’re antiheroes” fag shit that ruins the faction.

We’re playing a force more infectious than the fucking Flood and literally called “the Primordial Annihilator,” enjoy it.

Our legions are similar in both requiring tard wranglers but the sheer skill required usually leads to pretty competent hands leading the big operations.

Fulgrim may be an idiot, but when he can be bothered to get off his ass, he gets shit done. Only primarch with two kills to his name, first to ascend and Istvaan V was his show.

I've bought several framed Warhammer Art prints before. Don't really know about high-quality wall art otherwise, but I'm happy with what I got in terms of both the prints and the frames. Certificates of authenticity are included. The prints have a written number out of 250 copies in the corner. The frames appear well constructed to me, completely sealed front and back, and they were shipped with 1/3in-thick fitting foam pieces on the corners to prevent damage while in transit. If you're that concerned about shipping damage, I recommend reviewing the return policy (which says to report damage immediately) and consider calling them first to ask who pays for shipping on damaged returns.

The one caveat I found is that they only include sawtooth bits for hanging. I had to buy and install wire-hanging hardware separately for the best appearance. Even so, I'm glad to have bought prints pre-framed instead of doing the matte framing all by myself or paying for a custom frame at a store.

The framed print at the smallest size is still bigger than I expected, 26inx20.5in frame for a 450mmx300mm print. It looks like you can go an image size bigger for about the same price if you go canvas instead of print, but I can't offer a comparison since I didn't get any canvas. If you have interest in multiple pieces, I recommend ordering them all at once to save on the pricey shipping.

On a related note, I'm happy to see that the new Warhammer Art website includes remaining quantity for each image, making it clear to potential buyers which ones are on the verge of selling out.

If that still looks too expensive to you, there's always Warhammer Merch posters and licensed Displate metal posters. I've gotten the former before and can say that they're fine when framed, though you have to be careful handling with oily fingers. Never got a Displate before to judge, but it looks like they offer quite a few classic John Blanche works.

I know that GW coordinates with game devs and book authors to include/hint at incoming factions for the tabletop. Did this boss in RT count as Dark Mechanicum? Ik DM is what a lot of people are speculating will be a future faction. Would it even be unique enough to be distinct?

I took a look through Displate and I'm actually really impressed with the art on display. The official site has mostly art that I've already seen plenty before. It's cover art for books, or from codices. Obviously there's stuff I want but Displate has so much more. More importantly it has the T'au emblem poster that I really love.

What they don't have though is the awesome art of the Eldar Spiritseer and Warlock that you can find on WarhammerArt. I guess I could get those as aluminium prints if I really wanted them to match Displate, but apparently it's not printed onto the metal. It's printed on paper, then mounted onto an acrylic plate, then onto a metal backplate. I wonder how well that holds up over time. Like do I need to be careful about the edges peeling off over time? I guess it works and is technically slightly cheaper than buying it as a framed canvas.

I've heard of displates before but never looked into them. I'll have to do some more research before I dive in. But there are a ton of prints I see already that I'd love to have.
