I could see him being the centrepiece of a new Legion of the Damned range, that’s new subfaction of marines, upgrade kits, unique models, codex, all that shit.
I don't buy the Ferrus rumor. Like I said, I suspect he's at the very bottom of GW's priorities for returning primarchs. I can only envision the reintroduction of Legion of the Damned as a kill team adding to the Imperial Agents pile.
As someone who quite likes Imperial Fists I'd love if they brought Dorn back (and would actually commit to building some IF) but I can't see a world where they don't try to align Dorn more with the Black Templars instead since they're a favourite.
Leman Russ is one that they know for a fact would sell like crazy and for sure will be one of the next Primarch releases.
So apperantly Trench Crusade has a Muslim faction? If anyone still follows it I'm interested to know if the devs cucked and has the Muslims be unambiguously good guys, while the Christians are the crazed zealots.

The best way to do a returning Dorn is simple, make him the one Primarch with options other than heads.
You can build him in the Praetorian configuration to lead IF armies or you can build him in the Crusader configuration to lead BT armies. Praetorian Dorn has fluffy buffs and generally rewards the playstyle, whereas Crusader is a beat stick. Duality of the man represented perfectly.

Primarchs 'grow up' between 30k and 40k. Just look to Gman and Lion.
Dorn is different. He was already kinda 'grown up' in 30k with this bubbling rage kept in check (by his autism). However much I want to see him leading IF, he is much more likely to be given Emps claws (replace his hand) and unleashed on the galaxy with BT.
If GW are smart, they'll make him eligible for IF and BT, maybe even a dual build kit.
I agree, the next primarch to come back will def be Russ. Since SW have their own range and plenty of their stuff needs a revamp, like the stormfang or wulfen, which furries will adore.
I would say they were all pretty good, if a bit over the place timeline wise.
Canticle by David Guymer
Ferrus Manus slice of life origin story. Dude goes around in a post apocalyptic wasteland Conan style, killing everything in his way. He quite literally eats sand, metal and cyber zombies for breakfast. Being OP enough to Built armor out of scraps, instantly know several languages and know exactly how technology works. In something like 6 months to a year he went from being a boy to becoming a brick shit house teenager. This story more then most illustrates just how badass insane the Primarch are. Light on plot, but it's cool to see where he came from
The Verdict of the Scythe by David Annandale
Mortarion pre Heresy story where he's leading a death guard assault on a planet that suddenly surrenders. Mortarion comes across as an extremely insecure guy in this. For a brief moment he considers mercy and bringing in the planet to the imperium, but its not because of any moral reason so much as second guessing himself. He knows the emperor doesn't approve of him being a kill crazy asshole so he's feeling out the idea of being a peacemaker even though his heart isn't in it. 8 hours of sitting in a parade and seeing everybody kiss his ass, bore's him so badly that he ditches everyone to look for an excuse to blow up the planet. Literally goes into the worst crackhead neighborhood to go find a Psyker, and instead of immediately killing this soothsaying chaos bitch, lets her live, retraces his steps and "magically" find all these new signs of corruption in the population. Morty comes across easily as the weakest minded Primarch and I immediately pegged him as getting manipulated to nuke a perfectly ok world. I liked how Typhus subtlety nudged Morty into it by simply asking him questions like "is this what we where made for?" "Where does it say we were made to put up with human shit?"
A Game of Opposites by Guy Haley
Khan fights Iron warriors during the Heresy. Iron warrior thinks he can predict the Scar's movements by reading Khan's plagiarism of the art of war. Gets his ass kicked by stealth tanks.
Better Angels by Ian St Martin
A series of meetings between Sanguinius and one of his artful sons. A good side story for illustrating an average Blood angels reaction to events pre Heresy and post. Particularly liked how Sang admitted he has no idea why the emperor hid the existence of demons, but had faith in his intentions.
The Conqueror’s Truth by Gav Thorpe
Nightlords pre heresy show Remembrancer their work. Great story that was already mentioned earlier in the thread, but I liked the detail that the main character isn't actually a Remembrancer from the legion. She's a random guard logistics one who volunteered to see some action. Most of the night lord's journalists are either already dead ( I got the impression this wasn't intentional surprisingly.) left or are too dam shellshocked to even leave the ship.
The Sinew of War by Darius Hinks
Rob origin story fighting a rebellion on ultramar. This was an excellent showcase of a young guilliman and I was struck by just how raw and emotional he is. Dude comes back from a military campaign to see the capital city in the middle of a coup and starts professionally doomslaying some ass. He is especially pissed after his father gets killed. The great thing that separates him from every other primarch, is that when push comes to shove he holds back his anger and takes the ringleader in alive for the good of ultramar. It was a very good character piece for Papa Smurf.
The Chamber at the End of Memory by James Swallow
Dorn gets pissed off at Malcador for deliberately hiding the living quarters of the missing two primarchs and protecting them with warp monsters. Even going so far as wondering if the missing 2 could have prevented or won the Heresy if they were still around. Malcador counters that he did this and wiped everyones memory's of the two at the request of Dorn and Rob. After briefly recovering his memory of the events, Dorn realizes with absolute certainty the imperium would be worse off if the two were still around, with the war certainly lost.
It's probably the most amount of detail we will ever get on these two barring a surprise reveal.
First Legion by Chris Wraight
Dark angels and alpha legion. This was the most interesting story in my opinion. It's pre Heresy and its supposed to be before the alpha primarch is even found but a soldier introduces himself as alpharius and asks for an audience with the lion. Dude is trying to convince Johnson to pull out of a costly military campaign to wipe out an alien race and let the Alpha's take over. Lion briefly considers it with flashbacks to his past of killing monsters non stop. The lion despite being a hard ass, has a knightly attitude that considers a job undertaken is a job to be finished. While an answer is not directly given at the end, its likely he said no.
Overall Alpharius was trying to get the lion in a position to become the warmaster instead of Horus for some reason. It's quite interesting and I wondered if time travel was involved, especially with the weird figure in the flashbacks. However this actually makes a lot of sense if we consider new lore from Alphariuses book that
. He was secretly the 1st Primarch found and was kept hidden by Malcador
Probably my favorite story, and I liked pondering how much worse or better things could have been with Dark Angels in the lead.
Why Ferrus? He’s literally decapitated and they’re explaining Legion of the Damned then? WHY? You’ve got enough lore already stop explaining stuff that doesn’t need anything DO SOMETHING WITH THE LION INSTEAD OF A CODEX FIGHT
Mortarion is best when he is 40k Davy Jones, he didn’t intend to be a monster but a combination of getting screwed over and his own poor decisions piled up and yielded a heartless half-insane monster leading an army of the dead and damned.
Him and Isha are probably sharing a bird cage right now so there’s his Calypso-equivalent.
Morty was one of the ones the Emperor definitely wanted on his side, there was no love but it’s clear based on the Emperor bending the Imperium backwards and sundering his relationship to a son he liked, that he respected his moody boy. He was a workhorse, the “blue-collar” primarch, an ugly, smelly drinker who was a raging jerk to anyone not in his line of work, but as Horus learned, Morty is one of the best, because of the power of racism letting him stay in control longer and he’s too stubborn to cave instantly like the weaker ones. It’s a shame Leman and Morty didn’t have more exchanges, both were hicks, drinkers, not popular with their bros and were dedicated executioners.

It's fascinating. It's an Aussie guy going through the legions with his artsy girlfriend, she's not a collector but she gives her opinions on the legions based on their art and colour schemes, then he explains the lore to her and you see how accurate she is.
She's surprisingly accurate, she gets a few wrong but actually nails a lot of them.
I tried watching his Alpha Legion video and couldn't make it through, it felt like he just skimmed a wiki article and saw some people on reddit talk about the books.
Any of them coming back is stupid, probably Dorn at the top. Ferus as head of the legion of the damned makes more sense then Dorn is back after being stabbed to death/disappeared by Chaos Cultists. The Khan or Russ coming back would be right behind Manus.
All I know is, if Lorgar doesnt come back and Wordbearer chads dont RISE THE FUCK UP soon Im going to fucking riot. The word bearers are literally in competition with the Black Legion as Niggas that can Do Shit and they aint been doin shit. Fuck ferrus fuck russ fuck poop vault dorn. Khan is acceptable. Khan from commoragh would be kind of funny. It would be even funnier if, after an entire range refresh, its Khan that comes back before Russ.
Do people still play Nercomunda in the US or is it dead here? Am I going to need to step into a GW to find out?
I ask since I live in a uniquely terrible location where every game store that isn't 40min-1 hr away just caters to card game slop.
