Stupid faggot Breakfastwithbando makes wild accusations against GW where he claims that if GW are successful in their lawsuit against gharmak they will have legal precedent to take down ANY scifi/fantasy tabletop war game. Im pretty sure gharmak is being sued in italy, so even if this was the case and GW was literally hitler, then it WOULDNT FUCKING APPLY LEGAL PRECEDENT TO OTHER COUNTRIES. Christ, Im reminded of this one faggot who blatantly plagiarised the Warhammer Fantasy TTRPG an would threaten to sue people for calling him out on it and also went after The Trove because they had pdfs of his shitty game as people barely bought it.

The fact is it wouldn't even apply in Italy. "Unfair Competition" is what it's called in Italy when suing over shit like copyright and trademark. The reddit post in my previous reply explains it. Might as well add it to the list of faggotry people engage in when copying GW's shit and pretending it's their own. There were actually a number of people with games that weren't selling that were pissy about the trove existing though. Fact of the matter is their shit was so obscure the fact that they were even on the trove got them some exposure beyond page 10 on someone's search for something on drivethru rpg that was never going to get clicked on otherwise.

At any rate, damned recasters are more honest than some of these entitled retards. 23,000 euros grifted from morons so far who have no idea what an already ongoing legal dispute is going to cost.

It just makes me wonder, how many racists end up in the news down their way? Like, I genuinely can't think of a time when a racist incident warranted enough public attention to actually get on the news - but maybe I live in a nicer, less 'culturally enriched' area than those two. 🤔

Out of curiosity I went to his account to see what the context was for him making this lame virtue signaling post, and... nothing. His entire account seems to just be posting random bullshit into the ether with no engagement. Seems they're lucky if they gain 500 subscribers a month on their youtube channel, have trouble breaking 20k views a video, and are up to a whole $1300 a month on their patreon after 9 years. Hopefully they've still got their day jobs.

I just got around to looking at the models in question, and come on man. Dude had to know he was begging for a lawsuit. It’s retarded to act surprised or indignant in this case. I get some people simply don’t believe in copyright and IP laws, but regardless of its merits, it’s still the law. Just ignoring it and saying it shouldn’t exist doesn’t actually make it so. At a certain point you transition from making a policy argument to just failing act in your own self interest.

Also I’ve seen some people mad about this speculate GW is suing him under “unfair competition laws” instead of copyright to “create precedent” which is hilarious. Italy isn’t a common law country, it doesn’t operate off stare decisis or judicially created precedent.
It really irks me when people clammer to attack everything GW does no matter the merits and then fail to get even the basics of law right. It substantially undercuts the many legitimate criticisms of GW’s shitty practices and their attempts to use the legal system and IP as a sword rather than a shield.
 
Finished reading Red Tithe. I was pleasantly surprised. It's one of the shorter novels and doesn't really have any major lore. It's a pretty focused book on this one conflict over what is basically a prison/mining colony. The Nightlords and Carcharodons make an interesting pair. Most of the conflict revolves around both sides trying to claim the population for induction to their chapter/warband. The Nightlords kind of front load the horror in the first few chapters, flaying humans, scooping out eyeballs, that sort of thing. Once the fighting really starts it sort of disappears into the background.

I listened to it on audible and it was narrated by Shogo Miyakita who I think does a great job. I heard him first listening to Damocles. My only criticism is his voice for the Carcharodon librarian. He whispers everything. I get it's meant to be some sort of sneaky predator thing but it creates a lot of sharp S's that is kind of unpleasant to listen to. It's not a deal breaker but I wasn't a fan. Otherwise it's a solid read and would recommend.

Originally the rumor was spread by a hobby channel that some retarded tranny runs. So basically a tranny was doing it for attention. Other attention whores like Grummz picked it up too. What a fucking surprise, right? The leaked files in questions were just scans of varying quality found on Telegram. They're not that hard to find if you lurk there.
