Having seen these around lately, I can only conclude that XShot, a Nerf competitor, is run by Orcs.

Imagine not picking the bpd murder elves with the gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss herself.

I know what kind of man I am.
I make Daemonettes out of those so I got my fix. Plus the masked heads are good for cultists. But yes, Morathi “Are you winning son?” Mom of the Year is hilarious. I also already have a serpentine abusive bitch as a model already and Fulgrim is a going to be my winter painting.

I like the rats who took kitbashing to the next level, Throt is my spirit animal as a fellow high-metabolism, always hungry, freelance scientist. Like it’s another case of a character where people say “he’s the worst” and like Lucius, I just think it’s the most based thing ever and adopt them.
It's supposed to be a fantasy universe, not the real one.
Malekith coming home and investigating these gross pleasure cults and finding out his mother is the ringleader of the local swinger movement is a touch of real-life in the high fantasy of the elves, very based, very horrifying. It’s no wonder he’s as fucked up as he was.

Rumors of even more UM releases, what could they even do? Vet Sergeant Telion in primaris scale? Cataphractii Termies that aren't the 30k kit? Victrix bits for bladeguard?
Telion, Chronus, Cassius, Tyrannic war vets, some other named character who doesn’t have a model. I think those command land raider and rhino they used to sell at WHW was technically UM unique, but I may be mixing it up with the command rhino from 30k that Guilliman just invented, but wasn’t UM unique.

Point is, they’ve got a lot of options. UM have just as many named characters in the lore as any of the chapters that used to have their own codex as C:SM was originally just C:UM in 2nd ed. Plus the Matt Ward stuff, but a lot of that was him just copying the 2nd edition fluff.

Like all those guys participated in a massacre where Kharn, Lucius and Eidolon were the spearhead of cornering and tearing apart three brother legions, then hunting the survivors for weeks and handing off any survivors to Fabius. Same with the Siege of Terra where the Traitors devolved into a mob with members from EVERY Traitor Legion in it, ignoring pre-existing grudges, alignments or even a rape mob being against their warfare style. Slaves to Darkness (the book) makes a point of them all showing up, even the AL. They are all damned, some are just more self-aware.
Pretty much all the traitors on terra just revert to base savages motivated only by slaughter. If I remember, the world eaters where so gore crazed at this stage that they couldn't even man their vehicles, so anything that wasn't able to be crewed by slaves or servitors was pretty much abandoned.

I could see Titus getting a redo since his current model is dirt-cheap with that character guide.

Essentially what they just pulled with Calgar, a better Titus with Gadriel and Chairon in tow being in the works. They’d be insane not to do a full overhaul for the UM and ignore the three guys who helped remind normies how awesome the 360-era was for bro shooters.

The buck from the Dawn of Fire books is getting a model, which makes sense now with the “500 Worlds”’event as the new Psychic Awakening.

What do you mean?

I still don't know if there's an AoS thread. But I final caved to the siren's call and picked up a box of Saurus Warriors.

Not sure what the best path into AoS would be. One of the starter boxes? Grab a spearhead?
Spearheads are good bang-for-your-buck sets. If you can find the previous Lizardman box, get that one as it's more customizable.

I like the rats, if I do an AoS force I’m gonna get into rats. They make me smile and the world is less awful when I think of retarded cracked-out rats in lizard-hell Vietnam.
The models are nice but AoS is a setting I don’t feel like getting into. Instead I picked up Silver Bayonet which is a Napoleonic era gothic horror setting and will be running the models through that. Been using my Kill Team models as a basic substitute in the mean time and so far I’ve been having fun as a nice change up and even managed to get a friend to play and enjoy it more than the time I forced him into Kill Team.

I think I'm gonna do some Terminators for my Black Templars, and I kinda wanna do Cataphractii instead of Indomitus. Look cooler and I think it could fit the knightly aesthetic better. Idk how noticeable the size difference is between Cataphractii and Primaris though, so might look kinda retarded if the Terminator is shorter than a Neophyte.

Wait, new Cataphractii are coming and current Cataphractii are actually one of the few bad plastic HH kits.

They’re the size of nu-beakies and their parts aren’t really cross-compatible with much.

I love my Cataphractii, but they look puny next to the new-scale Marines. It's a bit pathetic.

Stupid question. Is Imperial Fist Combat Patrol released? Is it sold out?

Asking because I saw it on the internet. But online stores list it as "out of stock" or "unavailable", The official site doesn't have it listed, local GW doesn't have it, and FLGS doesn't have it. Iron Hands, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, sure. But no Imperial Fists.

Limited run. Very popular because you can buy 2 and it has a lot of core units.

Random assembly of 40k thoughts I am going to just shit out onto the proverbial dinnerplate
  • Current Necron schtick with the goofy tomb kings in space shennanigans would have fit a whole lot better back in the Rogue Trader era. I don't hate it but I really wish they found a way to make the offbrand Lovecraftian Oldcron schtick work, though I do hear those who say they would wind up just serving the same general role as the Tyranids as a character/personality bereft generic apocalypse force
  • The Lamenters either need to be squatted with extreme prejudice or given a personality makeover because holy fucking shit the UWU SAD UNLUCKY GOOD BOY UWU semi-official fanfiction persona they have is cringe.
  • The Flesh Eaters need to make a comeback. Preferably not as some generic Flesh Tearer knockoff. I dunno maybe have them slow and sneaky Raven Guard wannabe stealth cannibals
  • The Doom Eagles are kinda neat, their "depressed as fuck but still trying to save people" schtick is a whole lot more restrained and less obnoxious than that of the Lamenters
  • I have no earthly idea why the Death Spectres don't get more hate than the Marines Malevolent
  • The Tau are unironically perfect for spoopy flavoured 40k shit as viewpoint characters given their naivete and ignorance at the freaky shit infesting the setting which lends itself well for shit the reader can tell is heading to one of several literal hells while the characters blithely go about their jobs not knowing how hilariously fucked they are
  • Snakebites and Blood Axes are the best Ork clans.
  • I kinda wish that genestealer cults were their own non-tyranid/non chaos thing
  • The Praetorian variant of the Imperial Guard should make a comeback but only after a redesign to have them actually look like they are from 40k because before they just looked like generic Boer War miniatures with lasguns.

Wargames atlantic has you covered there.

The main issue with the kit is the lack of proper HQ and heavy weapon options. And some of the special weapons don't fit right.

That said, a lot of IG is just generic historic armies with lasguns. Krieg are world war 1 era germans with lasguns. Catachan are just Vietnam era Americans with lasguns and flamethrowers. Steel Legion are world war 2 era germans with lasguns. And so on. Iirc the original Praetorians were just a head swap for cadians, and Cadians themselves are just marines from Aliens with lasguns.

And as much as I want to agree with you (I own the above kit) I think GW has bigger problems with guard atm. First they have to bring the price of plastic way down. This is true for most horde armies, but the lack of affordable official options is damning, especially after companies like WGA and Northstar have give them a kicking. It would also mean opening the door to third party bits and other factions like Steel Legion, and GW seems allergic to that.
