I'm really hating the slimming down of HH models the old one where good. I just wanted resin models to be remade in plastic.

This was fine why change it?
It's especially disappointing because the new (Indomitus) Terminator kits prove that GW can upscale old models while staying true to the original design (and even retain a degree of modularity while doing so), they just ... don't for some reason.
I just hope that they won't fuck up the inevitable Tactical Squad refresh. Rate me optimistic but the new Terminators give me hope that GW won't completely fuck them up.

Chewing through backlog still, finally went down to an LGS to grab a yellow but left with a can of deathguard green and an HH Russ. Beastie needs a little cleanup in the hair but basically done. Rotigus here I just gave a wash + drybrush and am now picking out details and correcting areas that got sus coverage. Brute got a wash and is awaiting attention, I'm happy enough with the Possessed to put him down.

Got a care pack today. Me and my salamander bro store bits the other will find useful and mail them alongside anything else the other might want.

So I send him hammers, excess spikes, flamers, vintage bits like mk7 helmets, anything that suites the HH Salamander aesthetic or I will not use.

And he sent me aquilas, swords, the mini of the month EC marine, overly ornate pieces, screaming heads (for skinning/trophy spikes), plumes and Tyranids to chop up to make sonic cannons. So I’m gonna bling out some of the more basic of my remaining AoD marines and the space marine heroes termies I just finally assembled. It’s looking like one more week of good weather before the shit rolls in.

Looking great. I might need tops on how to do sores like that in the next month or two.

Questionable. It's been raining a lot, and RL issues mean my in door hobby time is severely impacted. I don't know if I mentioned it, but a recent post inspired me to stop fussing and get things done already. Everything needs something bought, but I'm thinking of just base coating what I can and calling it good enough to play.

If you care.
  • My seraphon warriors are all built and zenatholed. Just waiting to grab some speed/contrasts, or some paint pens.
  • Want some panel liner for my space marines. I do have some earthshade and military shade, so I'm tempted to use that as an all over wash on them.
  • My non-warhammer space cops just need basing and washing, but I have no bases.
  • Want some sand/flock to base some things, but I'm told that just grabbing half a scoop from a beach or a building site is bad and I should spend the money on some brand name sand. ...I don't get it.
  • I'm putting serious thought into either Konflikt 47 or AoS Spearhead.
  • Me and a friend are planning a trip to Warhammer World and Warlord HQ (possibly Mantic as well). So saving my pennies for that. Can meet some kiwis there if any want.

The Space Wolves don't though. Due to reasons no doubt related to why there are no wolves on Fenris only Fenrisians are able to accept the Canis Helix.
I know, we are told that the blacks come from the tropics on the planet. But, as the other pointed out, you won't see whites from Chogoris, even though it's also an entire planet, and so it makes no sense that everyone looks the same.

I'm fine with space Rome having black dudes and chinese guys, but Scandinavia is so aggressively European it makes no fucking sense. It will always seem out of place.
"See, some five slaves from Africa were taken back, this means Scandinavia was always hyper diverse, you chud". As I said, the idea seems to be that only Europe was extremely diverse. Bagdad or Xi'an had their own share of slaves and foreign merchants, but no one would mind if a series taking place on either had only arabs and Chinese on screen, but a series about Hastings got a black spearman on the front, if you complain, they're gonna say "Rome brought blacks to Britain 600 years before so there were blacks in 1066"

Timbuktu had a share of arab population, to the point that the famous Sankore Madrasah hoteps jerk off online was built by them, the name Sankore even means "White Masters", but imagine if they do the Mansa Musa film people keep talking about, and Timbuktu is shown as less than 100% black, they would riot on the streets.

Agreed, they’re ugly genetic garbage and I hate seeing them too.

Thank the Emperor some planets had standards, like Chemos, never gonna see this shit from that planet or it’s corresponding legion.

“My whole life I’ve never seen a nigger till now.”
-Fulgrim, upon meeting Vulkan.

"Dahkness, dahkness is here! Look, its my best bro Dahkness!" - Rick James Fulgrim.

I shudder to think about how many of Peturabo's couches Fulgrim fucked up after walking in high on one drug or another and just started grinding his messy boots into.

I guess that means there's plenty of pasty-faced white people in Nocturne's northern latitudes then, no? Fuck this gay Earth.

Wasnt one of the EC in Galaxy in Flames black?

Models during the 3rd ed, before the specifics of their mutation were given, show some white Salamanders. Now, the Black Dragons are white (the guys with the spikes on their hands)

introduce new nigga marine for diversity points
A voodoo-themed Chapter could be relatively interesting, it could even work as an evil counterpart for the Sallymanders, if only in background art as to not make miniatures for them... But that would be too much work for current day writers, and considered racist, as nigs can't be anything but perfect. Although it wouldn't be the first time someone tried to pass clear evil guys as good.

Voodoo’s nature as a syncretic faith could used to explore more esoteric sides of the Imperial faith.

Here’s a chapter idea: The Scions of Bondyu were a Space Marine Chapter born out of the fires of the Age of Apostasy. Little is known of their origin, but they can trace themselves back to a series of crusades launched to recover territory in the Segmentum Pacificus.

Rediscovery millennia later by Administratum tithe collectors saw them in control of the Gede system, having diverged from the Codex Astartes. The most significant divergence was the Chaplaincy. The Houngan, as they refer themselves as, are also the Librarians of the Chapter. They claim to be protectors of the living judgement of the Emperor and the recallers of their brother-martyrs. Their rituals are said to connect the Chapter with the marines who died in service to the Emperor, providing a degree of prognostication in combat.

Curiously, these rituals echo the pre-Imperial practices of the humans of the Gede system. They believed that certain sacrifices during the Old Night summoned golden ancestor spirits who defended humanity against a threat called the Legba.

Been reading the Black Library books and just got to Legion and hate it so far. Does it get better or is it all everyone wanting to fuck or being impressed by Gramaticus?

He eventually becomes a useless side character that only makes the occasional quip that no one gives a shit about in the siege of terra books, because he's overtaken by Ollanius Persson in terms of shoehorned importance while they're busy running around playing John and Oll's Excellent Adventure.

I really want a mod that replaces all the uses of "brother" in SM2 with "nigga"

"NIGGAS, WE MUST DESTROY THIS HIVE TYRANT!"

"My loyalty is not in question, My Nigga."

"Nigga-Lieutenant Titus!"

"Marneus Calgar, Master Nigga of the Ultraniggas."

While it is dull narrative wise to have characters introduced in Space Marines 2 to just die, this is Warhammer. The heroic Space Marine that survived countless battles against hordes of xenos will get his head blown off by a sniper in the next conflict. You will die unremembered.
Chairon and ACK!eran are literal nothing characters that nobody cared about. ACK!eran didnt even have a character, he was a fucking vending machine. Chairon had a touch of personality and the implication of being on Calth during Betrayer, but again who the fuck cares.

Sounds like a less grimdark version of the Mortifactors.

Yeah, but Ollanius is actually interesting unlike John.

I give literally no fucks about that Scotsman in Phobos armor getting acked off screen. Good riddance if it means Titus is back to where he should be as a Captain, although Chairon is regrettable. He was one of the good ones.

I liked Chairon because he’s the best of an unfortunately inescapable problem, black marines.

Quiet, off to the side, doesn’t have the John Majors look like the Dawn of Fire nigger and didn’t have that retarded hair they have. Aside from one chimp out he was a pretty normal bro.

Isn’t it funny that Chairon was likeable because he didn’t act black at all?

The gross scott in Phobos deserved it though, I hope him and the three allotted men (watch it be the Operations guys) did not die well.

Deep down these designers know that never in a million years could something like west africa inspired marines sell kits, it just cant stand on its own two legs. No one would buy that shit, so they have to inject into something that can.
There's also the fact that anything other than generic European, generic American, and generic Japanese can easily get people mad if it falls into any negative stereotype. People already commented on Trench Crusade, basically making their muslins just about alchemy instead of any actual Islamic esoterism (which is like if they made a Jewish faction but it had zero shit from the Kabbalah)

I remember a guy on Reddit asking for help on making a Kingdom of Israel inspired chapter, instead of helping, people just said "pls be careful not to make antisemitic stereotypes", but the guy was a practicing jew. No one will care (except maybe right-wing nationalists) if you make a chapter on Western and Japanese stuff, but if you touch the wrong spot with other cultures, you can get cancelled.
