So, in the Silent King book, there is a moment where the Farseer who lives in the Dawn of Fire thinks on how his kind never had the tenacity and will to live of humanity. Let's see if I got it, the guy whose race has been fighting against a force that will devour their souls when they die for the last 10.000 years, doesn't think his kind is as tenacious as humanity?

No wonder Eldar don't sell; even in their own POV, the race that is supposed to be beyond arrogant can't help but gush over others. The same thing happens in Shadow of Heaven. You don't see, let's say, the Tau reacting like that when they see Necron stuff.

That and calling it "The Silent King" when the guy shows up for 5 minutes.

If GW could, they would just get rid of the Eldar in a heartbeat. I don't think that company knows what to do with them, and that also reflects how writers approach them. Ynnead, lol.

Unless your name is Guy Hailey or Rick Priestley, nobody can write Eldar.
Haley wrote The Silent King, but he also wrote Valedor, so it balances.

I think JC Stearns does a good job on the Eldar, he even shared on his social account on reddit what kinds of plots he would do to try and salvage the Ynnari.

I am 99% sure they are going to shrink the defiler so that it works properly within 10th's terrain layouts, there was ambiguity on whether or not you were forced to start using the AoS soulgrinder base a couple years ago but that age is long past. Either it shrinks or 11th makes adjustments to ruin placement we aren't yet privy to.

I think DM will be added as apart of the 500 worlds campaign and will feature in the SM3.
As much as people have been demanding dark mechanicum added to 40k, I doubt it'll happen with anything more than some weird Iron Warriors thing. The problem is that it doesn't make much sense for the admech units to be part of the "true mechanicum" which would still have a bunch of the old shit without being concerned with the "optics" or "politics" of certain units, not to mention all of the daemon infused stuff, being willing to use xenos tech, and so on. To be worth a shit it needs to be more than just admech but with extra spikes.

Speaking of admech, time to pay the periodic thread tax. Frames are done, white armor plates mostly done, initial candy coats done, no idea what I'm going to do for a trim color yet.

I agree with the point that admech wont be anything more than a subfaction that you can ally with CSM, I do think GW will be able to create unique stuff for them to differentiate themselves from 30k and 40k admech.

Sure but that's not going to happen with anything in the 500 worlds shit and be interesting. The only way to do DM like I said is to actually do some proper releases for it, not just "here, take some admech shit with your CSM and add extra spikes to it"

Is it worth getting a microsonic bath or whatever to properly clean a failed paintjob? My normal method has had a model soak for over a year and there was some paint that just didn't wanna scrub off

Simple green and a toothbrush will set you free my friend. Do not let it soak for a year, thats entirely unecessary. A few days, a week, TOPS, but most often overnight. Im a lunatic that repaints the same models over and over and over and over (Ive restarted my word bearers 6 times, and Im giving my blood angels a side-eyed at the moment) again and its never failed me.

A year? I've stripped paint with simple green, la totally awesome, and just rubbing alcohol and it should take hours tops. Let it soak, scrub with an old toothbrush, soak, scrub, repeat. Either you've got some weird mess of paint or you need a different stripper.

What is that you're using to hold the sticks?

Looks like the Mr Hobby clip bases. I've never seen them at a reasonable price for a few rows of corrugated cardboard, but that'll probably depend heavily on where in the world you are.
That's exactly what they are, and fuck no I didn't pay for them. Buying cardboard cat scratchers it also dumb. Just cut some cardboard into strips, wrap it into a spiral and tape the end in place. Just needs to be from a box you can fit some skewers into the corrugations.

I can see Dark Mechanicum just being able to include skitarii and a few mechanicus models like tech priests but corrupted on any chaos army as an attachment. It fits as how underwhelming GW has been especially with their Inquisition army. They had all their KT models leaked and can’t hold a secret to save their lives so I don’t think we’d get models.

Ok, I guess middle age crisis is settling in - are Eldar hard to paint? I kinda like the idea of Iyanden cuz I could paint all of these bulbs on wraith guys back thingies as gems. Should I go for normal paint or contrasts when it comes to yellow? Never painted yellow before and the last time I’ve painted anything was like 20 years ago…
