Some shower thoughts about the reveals and their implications.

Did they make it a point to release red corsairs now so that it mirrors the mixed armor tactical squad loyalists are supposed to be getting in the 11th ed launch box?

Will the Eye of Terror campaign book retread elements of the original namesake? Just swap BL for IW. Slot in Russ returning as an Odin Spear Wulfen thing with retinue so he can WWE smackdown Iron Heel Pert. Sperg vs Furry Showdown. Would this be where we get a real Lost and The Damned traitor guard detachment? Was painting up a new TG squad in the old color scheme intentional? Is the corsair squad being mixed marks an homage to the 13th company boxed kit?

Is Tarellian Gator Mistress a hint at a future Tau killteam or Necromunda gang? Did they just want to copy elements of the Archon court's Sslyth? Are we getting more snake men when that ritual poster finally gets his wish for DE?

The new Custodes that look like Stormcast with Custodes Spears / Sword and Board are literally just a Custodian Guard squad, we already have the datasheet for them. They're drop in replacements. No clue on scale, however, they mentioned that they have a different scale and they look distinctly thinner to me than they used to.

But they also, to me, look like they took Stormcast STLs and put Custodes shoulderpads on them, not Space Marines++ like before. Is that better? Worse? I do like the implication that their armor is just so much better intrinsically that it doesn't need to be as thick as Space Marine armor and is still somehow better.

The rest of the new plastics are all forgeworld recreations, and I think they have 40k datasheets but maybe not? Was there even a single new thing shown, or was it all just forgeworld->plastics and a Custodian Guard refresh? IIRC the Custodes standard dread is now out of print so the new ones are at least something.

AFAIK all are pre-existing old plastic or HH resin units.

I just get grim reaper vibes from their framing of "Current". Ptsd left over from the great Forgeworld purge. Plastic leviathans happened just as they were banished from 40k

Then after all of that, if you want say.. a bunch of infantry bases of terminators, or a bunch of land speeders for space marines, well get fucked because you need to buy the $60 infantry or fast attack box that comes with 20 bases of figures you don't want,
Some of that makes sense given the size of a mini vs a sprue, but the way the force orginization works is the problem I think?

Calls the fire department, which is only a few minutes away and just finished renovating
Is his plastic okay?

Warhammer has been on a roll lately when it comes to music
Mechanicus basically reinvented the soundtracks of all of 40k. A little silly since the whole point was to make an Adeptus Mechanicus soundtrack by combining electronic with religious music and now it just gets copied for everything but hey it does sound cool.

It fits very well for the Imperium in general.
I don't mind it being used in a more general sense, it gives the setting a musical identity, which is neat.

Holy shit the dark heresy one absolutely SLAPS. Like you just feel the grimdark oozing through
They hired our countryman Paweł Perepelica, he also made some of the tracks for the rogue trader:

You VVILL listen to them and enjoy them.

It's incredibly fucking lazy. When all of that happened I spent a few minutes thinking about it and came up with this:

Guilliman finally gets a moment of downtime and starts doing his favorite thing: Space Taxes. He's looking over forms and signing documents when he comes across the report for how many Custodes were created in the last year. He becomes irate and calls.... Cawl.

"What the fuck Cawl, the fucking galaxy is split in half, everywhere I look shit is completely fucked, WE ARE BURNING THE FUCK DOWN CAWL. And this is how many Custodes were made in the last Terran year? FOUR? They made FOUR Custodes in the last year? CAWL THESE ARE FUCKING ROOKIE NUMBERS! FIGURE IT OUT"

and then Cawl is like

"Well actually the Emperor totally gave me the plans to accept women candidates, way back in the day, I didn't figure out on my own that the Custodes gene editing is far more refined and precise than the Space Marine gene editing and implantation process and can be easily modified to accept women. I mean not modified, just unlocked, cause the Emperor gave the plans along time ago haha"

Guilliman agrees and hangs up the space phone or whatever and the door to his room opens and two women Custodes walk in, because Cawl had already come to the conclusion this would happen by talking to the AI clone that he has of Guilliman.

I mean this is a joke and could obviously be written a lot better but you get the point, I fixed "Why are there now women Custodes?" in just a few minutes of thinking. GW could have done this in a short story released for free instead of just saying "they were always there".
All the so-called egalitarianism in 40k in pure libtardism. It has never made sense. The administratum loves the division of labor, and specialization. Entire planets are specialized into a single type of economic activity but will act retarded if you'd ever consider these places to be ethnically homogeneous with strict gender roles (like with every other aspect of their society). Games Workshop is applying a brief historic aberration, a luxury political belief, to a science fiction/fantasy setting 40 thousand years in the future.

Logically the Imperium has rape breeding pens and it would take 10 seconds for the militarium to begin gang raping the nearest female conscript.

Don't even try to apply contrived in-universe logic, it's retarded no matter what way you cut it. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. It allows them to make new toys, and give Netflix the green light to do whatever race/sex swaps they want.

I see your point, and yeah, it isn't that believable. There are several reasons that I find the weird gender equality in the Imperium still acceptable.
A lot of Imperial and especially Mechanicum worlds use cloning and vat-growing extensively. Cybernetic augmentation is incredibly widespread, often so invasive that almost all biological indicators of sex are removed entirely, complete with an artifical hormone household. Middle and Higher Caste Humans also live really long, way longer than the fertility window of women.

It should also be noted that different Imperial planets vary wildly. There SHOULD of course be many planets with very strict gender roles. In practice GW don't do stories like that because for them, going against gender equality is true heresy.

They also shy away from sexual violence most of the time, it is generally a rather sexless, romanceless setting.
Not sure if they should even change that, tbh. Knowing them, they would just make steamy gay romances bloom on the battlefield.

I never said arch is wrong in fact he’s mostly right. He just sounds like a faggot and I hate seeing his face

Also that nellop video is so odd, why would he attack arch? Arch has more service studs in the chud war than he does

EDIT: I looked into it he just really hates arch even though their opinions align against nu 40k so strange
He'd attack Arch a few times in the past.

Literally who?

Is it me, or custodes recruitment makes no sense? For royalty, a smooth succession is a matter of survival, and they're supposed to give up their best and brightest forever. This makes even less sense than female custodes.

Check out the rest of the Mechanicus soundtrack, it’s got some other cool techno-ecclesiastical sound too. The sequel game is coming out this year and half the hype is for the new soundtrack.
The soundtrack he made for Ixion is probably the best part of that game.

It used to be first born sons of his enemies during unification and then sons of nobles. The idea was to replicate Alexander’s Companion cavalry. Femstodes make less sense the longer you look into it.

Kneecapping potential dissidents by turning their best and brightest into your Janissaries makes sense for the attitude that the Emperor likely had towards the nobility of Terra.

The most grimdark thing GW can think of to introduce to the setting is retard slop. The Imperium is decaying and falling apart, of course they'd take any nigger or paki available, theyre THAT desperate. Gene seed is starting to wither and fail or be lost, just as the Huwite Man is. Custodes are so busted they need women there to nag them into doing anything. The worst thing GW can think of is to make an entirely culturally homogenous rainbow stew of darkies and monogoloids and women. What all this is telling me is that this is the very example of late stage multiculturalism. Truly cutting commentary from James W. Orkshop.

Things are truly dire fellas.

oooh, that's a good catch. Given GW's segregation of HH from 40k (due to stupid internal politics) that... might indeed be a warning shot.

IIRC, it was specifically the Emperor dunking on the conquered nobles of Terra. He wasn't asking for their firstborn sons, he was taking them. It became an honor later on as they cucked out over 10,000 years.

So this was an elaborate humiliation ritual that turned into official religion, like with Indians.
Meanwhile, Nellop a-logging Arch again. Can you blame him?
