God damn, I completely ruined my day because I slept through my alarm. And missed my only war game and called secession to be canceled. So I feel like a complete Dick.
Also the new novel i'm reading is I don't know why I picked up a book about. Helicopter pilots. In the war here, my universe. It's very boring.

The Machine is starting to call to me, but the Mechanicus still intimidate me.
I play mechanicus, and I can say we're in a pretty good spot. It took all edition but our rules are fine now. Also, the 500 worlds campaign is giving us 2 new kits, a detachment, and probably a discount box. It's a good time to jump in!

Mechanicum and Sisters are neck and neck for most expensive and most detailed faction in 40k so any box is a good thing. Its a real shame 30k mechanicum get the good stuff.

what are some good channels for warhammer lore that are not woke ?
I forgot somebody, Live from the Black Library is pretty good too. Seems to know his stuff, written some pretty compelling alternate history and done a pretty good recap series on The End and the Death. I don't think he's ever got into real life politics.

Another fun fact is that apparently he wants to go to mime school and become a street performer, which is more interesting than most 40k sloptubers

Can you elaborate? I tried to look this up but apparently there aren't any 40k mangas, let alone one featuring Reddit's Favorite Army.
And none of the non gook comics feature Tau according to Google AI.
It's a joke. The Tau are the weeb (clueless 4chan anime fan) faction, supposedly.

(I think they're actually meant to try and make inroads in Japan / Korea / China, myself, but who knows?)

As for the Tau, one of the Dawn of War games has an ending if you win as Tau where they happily sterilize an entire planet of Humans so they can peacefully die out and leave the planet for the Tau. This is supposedly not canon, but I hear it's heavily implied to happen in BL or codex entries?

Fair enough. Hopefully this one will only attract serious answers:
Which pauldron is left and which is right?

Looking at it Head on like this? The one of the left is for the right shoulder, the one of the right is for the left shoulder. You can tell by the trim on the pauldron if what's on the face doesn't help.

So the "blade" looking sides go to the reverse, and the horn side would face forward?

Thank you

I can’t get over the body horror aspects of them. Astartes are steroids practically, guard are the human element with their themes of various historical aspects leading to their characters. Mechanicus is something else entirely especially while we plunge into an age of machine learning.

Plus there’s the price of them.

When it comes to body horror, I definitely get it. The thing that makes AdMech different to me is that a vast majority of it are covered up with metal. The grossest of 40k body horror are chaos for me, nurgle and slaanesh especially. Those new mutilators are absolutely gruesome.

Mechanicus guys get less human because the bionics are straight-up upgrades. Cybernetic eyes can see in the dark while squishy humie eyes are not.* Also, it's a cult. The only issue is when you go too far, someone uses EMP (which thankfully is rare) or scrapcode demons are around. There's no cyberpsychosis in WH40k.

*Genetors are body horror with organic parts instead of machine.

Working on some 30k forces set in the scouring, went with this classic inspiration. Gonna add some purity seals and a blend of armor marks, like the inductii have mk7 helmets, to show the force is a little whiles after the siege

Also you fuckers need to post more hobby
