A translator for warhammer. Bonus if it spouts Heresy when certain things (like politics) are inserted as input.

I was merely doing my duty imperial citizen.

So a tournament in November and I wanna start prepping. I'm looking at the possibilities of Destroyer Wing for necrons mixed with scarab farm.

Basic list

Vanguard detachment - 1CP

Destroyer lord

Spearheaded detachment - 1CP

I don't see necrons being updated by then so thoughts and improvements?

Add more of everything, unless you expect your opponent to have less miniatures than you. Don't want to give them to many benefits.
 
Are painboyz an HQ choice? The GM webstore says it is but the index says it's an elite. If not it's really stupid that Start Collecting! Orks doesn't have an HQ, and weirdboyz have been sold out forever. I'm really tempted to just buy a fantasy orruk shaman (The ironjawz guy is a little too magical looking, and expensive). I'm waiting on a warboss from Battle from Vedros to come in the mail, and bought 5 nob body bitz since the start collecting came with more than enough weapons/arms for them.


Anyway I'll be going to my first game session tomorrow. Kind of excited.

The game really doesn't care about points anymore so buy/ bring everything you can. Yes, that does mean that if you have more points than your opponent they get more bonuses depending on the game, but who cares if you just have more?

The event is using matched play so points are in effect.

The way I understand it, his issue appears to be that Games Workshop set the prices of, and govern the licensing of an IP that they have created and manufacture the miniatures for. Surely they could only be called a monopoly if they were stopping people from manufacturing any form of miniature?

It's not 40k but there's a Necromunda game in the works (Necromunda: Underhive Wars) from the the same people who made the recent Mordheim game:

Also Sanctus Reach is pretty good, reminds me of the 90s epic 40k game Final Liberation, although like that game it only features Space Marines and Orks.

Pretty much. He even mentioned in the papers that gee dubz don't even own the names of their properties which has been suspected for sometime since they've been doing the name changes.
The chapter house case was mentioned which is what I'm assuming he's basing most of this off. In regards to the monopoly I think he is referring to web exclusive products and limited stock stores receive if they even get it for release date.

A lot of the names they did use were open licence so free to use, but they did try to copyright some of it or at least trademark it. Failing that, they changed the names for easier trademark throughout the world.

The whole thing about how each sprew is $0.03 is bullshit as plastic costs more than that, plus you have shipping costs, you have to pay each of your store employees, company employees, modelers, you have to pay to have your stores up and running, keep your webpage up.
