Just picked up the 8th Ed. rulebook and the Chaos Index. Figure I can pull double duty with my AoS Nurgle Daemons.
 
So Steam gave me a coupon for 50% off Dawn of War 3. That can't be a good sign can it?

For one thing they removed cover and replaced it with it capturable force shields troops stand in, that's the kind of thing you can expect if you decide to buy it.
 
I'm more likely to pass on it entirely for now or wait for the IG to make some kind of expansion appearance. I still need to get Dawn of War 2 and Chaos Rising.

You are definately better off with Dawn of War 2 series. Even the graphics are almost on the same level, except for the big hero units of Dow3. They really went low on the "meatshield" units, but the graphic effects are nice, guess for the moba eye candy.

Anyone read this? I could actually give less than two shits about 'muh representation' in GW but it's the complaint itself that makes no sense. You literally paint the models how you want. Their features are SO SMALL or in a helmet that you can't really establish race?

Also, the line 'If I were a person of colour...' and literally speculating what we want is the biggest mark of liberal racism. 'My opinion should be your opinion poor ignorant nonwhite' at least with racist far right they aren't preaching to me about how to feel and hiding behind progressive ideology.

But that blog post is not the first I've come across when it comes to GW or hell, tabletop in general, and all of these posts are usually white dudes doing this hand wringing where they act like 'we white people need to do better and have more diversity'? I just...don't get it. At all.

GW shouldn't budge an inch to these people, because it's impossible to solve a problem that doesn't exist. It's like dividing by zero.

It's funny that the author is using Marvel as a diversity success story, because the milkshake crew is running their comic sales into the ground.

"Waaaaa my race of genocidal, eugenic, corpse worshipping space Fascists isn't diverse enough".

theres an entire chapter of black space marines (salamanders) and if it really REALLY bothers you to the point you refuse to play Imperial factions just play one of the myriad alien races. I mean hell, this dumb fuck is complaining that there's no Japanese representation in a game with giant anime robots and blue samurai.

"The Peoples’ Army from China, the largest army in the world, has no representation."
I bet this guy plays Tau. He sounds unironically like a commie. And correct me if I'm wrong but doing historically based Imperial guard armies like the Tallarn was more of an oldhammer thing because 40K didn't have as much of its own character as it does now. Seems like all that's left of those kinds of armies is Death Korps, and that's only sold on Forge World.

Holy hell, this article is just full of gems the more I read. "None of the models are sculpted to look like these groups, and ethnicity is about an awful lot more than skin color."
We've gone full circle. SJWs are the new Phrenologists. :story:

He criticizes the Salamanders being black because of mutation caused by the amount of radiation in their home environment when that's the same exact reason that skin tones exist irl too.
 

Salamander's are my favourite type of Space Marines. Mostly because Vulkan kicks ass and because dragons

Too bad theirs articles about why Marvel's comics aren't doing well because of forced diversity. DC is doing better.

Yeah, I don't think he realizes that the setting is so far in the future that human evolution takes place in each sector so it's not like you're just going to have "space Asians and space Africans". I mean, there's fucking dwarf, gnome, and ogre subspecies. Not to mention the fact that Terrans as represented by the Emperor seem to mostly be swarthy, not white.

And like I said before, the hammy historical pastiches have mostly been reserved for the xenos and retconned out of the humans, leaving you with the vaguely Vietnam war looking Catachans (which lots of blacks fought in) and death korps german world war dudes.

It's set 40,000 years in the future and due to the fact that people move around much more these days and inter-marry between races ethnicity as a whole is predicted to vanish in a few thousand years. /argument.

That sort of happened in 40k. There's lore on how much the DNA of the human race has been "polluted" and all of the subraces for human.

Yeah that was my point. They also seem to forget that 40,000 years is a long ass time considering that all of human history and civilization as we know it has occurred in more or less the last 10,000.
 
All you have to do is pick a brown color and apply to face of miniature. Boom instant diversity. Also if GW did make a African IG regiment they'd probably make them tribalish and get labeled racist.

Now I want to see some Catachan models painted up to be a punch of stereotypical thugs in the name of diversity.
