So are these crops of kids books the works of the Ruinous Powers, Tau Subversion, corruption of the Dark Eldar, or the machinations of the Old Ones?

I think there is some kind of potential in this idea but you have to make it slightly comical. Kind of like how the Cain novels have fun with the setting while still keeping it grimdark with the stakes and consequences. My idea is through nepotism a young kid ends up running a rogue trader house. Naturally they put their friends as their advisers and important positions. So they go on adventures full of peril as rogue traders are known to do and there are consequences where a young inexperienced kid is running a trader house and the lives and livelihoods of the crew depend on them. People would have to die and lives would be ruined as the series goes on to keep within the themes of the setting. You could also keep it kid friendly by having some character development where the main kid starts cocky and aloof at the power they are given and learns to be responsible and earn the trust of the people that depend on them.
But is okay for a white person to put their diverse miniatures in virtual harms way? Are they just perpetuating stereotypes by having a black miniature with a gun? What's the point of making Warhammer all lame with harmless looking current era marvel style art? Boys drawn to the hobby are drawn to it because of how gory and violent it is. To them that's awesome and also grown up in their heads, like when kids get to watch or play violent games.
No one should give a shit about some trannies and snowflakes who would be better served with another outlet that caters to their needs. Seriously, fuck them. No one cares about your little micro problems so stop trying to ruin things for people who 's jobs aren't sitting in a cubicle writing articles for belloflostsouls.
I filled out a bogus form to join the feminists for 40k group but all I've found is them showing their diverse miniatures and talking about if the Salamanders are charred black or nig nog black. A question for the ages.

Isnt Ahriman and his dead bro Iranian? He's a pretty popular guy in the universe too who does all sorts of stuff like invade the Black Library.
The Sisters of Battle finally got plastic models too and are pretty cool.
Maybe you could get creative with green stuff and give some Emperor's Children marines boobs but that would be too much of a mockery of femininity.

"Space marines soulds stupid"
That's what they are you stupid soy. Its iconic and a bit silly but they are actually marines and they fight battles in space and on alien planets. The hobby is suppose to be a violent, testerone filled game of endless battles. What military branch in the real world is fucking crazy and blood thirsty as hell?
The marines. My uncle was in Vietnam (army) and would tell me the marines would run in like berserkers and get mowed down by the Vietcong without a care for their lives and he and his buddies would just wait for them to take all the fire and go behind them.
Space Marine is easily recognizable vs well as a name.
Yea. I know I'm being autistic.
Aren’t the Celestial Lions an entire Chapter (albeit one made up of ~95 Marines) of black guys?

Its also weird considering space marine isn't a 40k only term. Space marine has been a loose term to describe soldiers in space for a long time. I mean if you have a problem with it you can always just use Astartes."Space Marines" sounds stupid? Compared to what? The Galactic Empire? Star Fleet? If a potential fan finds fault in a compound word because one of the words involved is space-related, why do they care about sci-fi in the first place?
I always thought that was only the case for Chapters with specific mutations to their appearance, so Space Wolves, Salamanders, Blood Angels etc. Otherwise, all Marines would end up looking exactly like their Primarchs — all Dark Angels would be blonde, for example.Always had an issue with that bit of fluff.
Geneseed slowly (or rapidly as the case with salamanders) alters the features of the recruit to match the source.
A white guy with salamanders geneseed will develop coal black skin and burning eyes.
A black recruit given raven guard seed will slowly turn albino.
So how are the lions black if dorn was a white dude.
Admittedly Black library authors play pretty fast and loose with this to have their snowflakes but it's never really explained away.

The latter two primarily affected in skin tone
Yea, skintone is a bit narrow. I meant that primarily surface level attributes (like skin, hair and eye color) are affected rather than the facial structure. Some will resemble their primarch very closely, like the aformentioned true son's of the Luna Wolves/SoH but having the whole legion be indistinguishable to an outsider; I think is a AlphaLegion thing. Their natural mimicking due to geneseed influence amplified through surgery and extra gene therapy.Well that and the all black shark eyes of the ravens and the burning red eyes of the ravens.
Pre heresey Night lords all developed gaunt features and dark eyes regardless of nostromo birth, the word bearers are tan to the point of golden skin.
The you've got the specific gene flaw traits of the wolves, emperors children and blood angels and the whole true son thing with the sons of horus.
But again the twinning effect takes years but is faster in others (ravens and salamanders). The space sharks fluff specifically points out you can tell the age of a marine by how pale his skin.
