Where's C.S. Goto (one of the most infamous 40K authors) now? I'm genuinely curious, and sad at the same time. It must be hard for an ambitious author like him to drift into irrelevance over the years.

I was wondering that myself not so long ago, so I did some poking around. His Wikipedia page is a stub. He doesn't seem to have done anything outside the 40K universe, nor has he published anything since 2007. He also doesn't have a blog or website that I can find. I'm guessing he's just faded away and has a normal job now, maybe still working on a new novel or screenplay and thinking he can break back into the industry. At least he didn't get purged for plagiarism like Henry Zou.

What are peoples thoughts on the HH series? iv read the first three and they are good but i also enjoyed the times when the heresy was simply a event that happened and left at that, and now with this series its kinda lost that mystery that i also thought added to the scene as a whole.

eh, perhaps it was inevitable.

I've only read the first book in its entirety, but I wasn't as impressed as everyone else seems to be.

It has its ups and downs. I think the best part of the series is that they fleshed out some of the legions and characters that actually kind of needed it, like Perturabo and the Iron Warriors and Jaghatai and the White Scars. Know No Fear is also a pretty fuckawesome book that did a lot toward making the Ultramarines and Rowboat Girlyman likable.

My biggest issue with the HH series is that it dragged on for an eternity

I mean really there were only so many events that needed to be covered

1) Istvaan V
2) Istvaan III
3) Signus prime
4) the betrayal at calth
5) the burning of prospero
6) the siege of terra

thats it, and somehow this story that could be told in 6 parts has morphed into a 54 book abomination plus god knows how many short stories.

Half of the issue was it seemed that outside of the iron hands Black library seemed like they had to give every legion a chance to shine, hell the salamanders somehow managed to get 3 novels even though their single contribution to the entire meta narative of the heresy is getting their arses kicked at the drop sight massacre.

It just seemed like they had no idea it would be this popular and were doing everything in their power to keep the gravy train going for as long as possible,

Atleast they have said outright that the siege of terra is only going to be 8 books long.

Frankly, I'm just sick of hearing about the primary Chapters in general. I'd love to read a novel about the Rainbow Warriors, and what the hell happened to them.
last i heard they, along side the relictors and fire lords took huge casualties stopping a demonic infestation, including all three chapter masters but they succeeded in the end.

also looking for their homeworld will come to a 'record deleted' which could mean a list of things, i cant remember which codex housed this.

Do they not have any spotlight because they don't sell, or do they not sell because they never get a share of the spotlight?

I always kind of figured it was both. They don't get much notice, so they don't sell. Since they don't sell, GW doesn't promote them and nobody notices them. Self-perpetuating cycle. That and some of them, like Death Korps and Elysian Drop Troops, are/were FW only and therefore stupidly expensive and impractical to collect without a lot of disposable income.

I want to start a Guard army someday, and when I do, it will be Krieg. Hopefully, friends overseas will be there to help, wink wink.
UK eBay sellers will be your best bet right now since the pound has dipped against the dollar.
etiam, if your persistent enough theres some good findings to be gained and given what the prices for new SM boxes were (both 40k/HH) the prices for guard will be buttons.

But they don't sell.

Just like any non-Cadian or Catachan IG...

There's a reason that most of the single units are shit like Gaunt, other notable commissars, and the like. Nobody cares about the 412 Riverines, or whatever they were in that book I read once. I think it was either a Hammer & Bolter, or a IG omnibus.

I've never imagined plugs like that to be exclusively tied to the black carapace.

There's a bunch of power armour users in the imperium outside of Spacemarines and it's reasonable that a similar system of plugs might be used to connect the armour to the nervous system of the wearer. Without the sofistication of the black carapace though, the integration is presumably more crude.
Unless GW changed the Fluff for the latest edition, only space marines ever had the black carapace and it been that way since Rogue Trader and 2nd Edition.

I think it used to be fan canon that Warhammer is a human colony in the 40k setting that's been cut off for ages by a warp storm.

In the third edition Necron codex there was a blurb about them fighting lizardmen. A lot of folks theorized that Sigmar was a primarch at that time too.
