Didn't they retcon space marines into cool bros that just think the Emperor is a really cool bro but don't worship him at all?

What I'm saying is all astartes are heretics.

Also stubbers, while they do work and are a semi-common IG and very common PDF weapon, lack the punching power a bolter actually has what with them being 20mm rockets tipped in an ultratough AP cap. The Space Marines do have a good tactical reason to use them along side their religious reasoning.
Bolters rounds are essentially autocannon cartridges with a gyrojet projectile instead of a conventional APHEI shell.

For the majority of 40K history it's always been the case the Space Marines don't worship the Emperor. Worshiping him is more an exception than the norm. Of course has ten thousand years have passed and as a multitude of new chapters are raised the social taboo of worshiping the Emperor as a god decreases. Now all of the original foundings don't consider him a God.

Of course who the fuck knows now days with way GW is taking 40k.

I'm a Primaris enabler, I think about half of them are cool, but I understand why people hate them...

And my only problem with the wallet sized carbine on its hip for it to shoot with it's robot hand. That's exceptionally exceptional.

Replace the two cannons on the one arm that are exactly the same as the two on the chassis with some twin linked plasma, and the other side with a chain fist or a giant storm shield, and I'd be on board with it.

I want to start a Guard army someday, and when I do, it will be Krieg. Hopefully, friends overseas will be there to help, wink wink.

I'm doing a Krieg army right now. Check the Chinese recasters on Alibaba and the like if you have no shame or loyalty to Games Workshop. The ones I've got have been pretty decent quality. There's definite mold lines, but not something so bad that you can't smooth out with a modeling knife.

I don't know if I would bring them into a Games Workshop, tho. I don't know how big the difference is between them and the FW models, and since recasters are ABSOLUTELY VERBOTEN, I wouldn't risk it myself.

I have limited loyalty to GW. When I'm buying Boyz or Gaunts, I find their prices acceptable. But when it comes to stuff like Krieg or Chaos Dwarfs, well, GW can blow me.

>Be a chaplain
>Everyone around you is an atheist
>Even you are an atheist

fucking priests how do they work

No seriously why the fuck do they have chaplains if they don't worship the Emperor anymore? Did they just cut that unit out?

Chaplains were originally instituted to discourage Emperor worship and enforce the Edict of Nikaea. Nowadays, they're basically a cross between morale officers and secular priests; most chapters don't do Emperor-worship, so they instead inculcate their battle-brothers with the specific beliefs and practices of their chapter, and they wade into battles while cracking skulls and screaming at the other Marines to kill motherfuckers in the name of the Emprah.

They engage in secular, cult-like behavior. Like Jonestown.

It is kinda silly for them to be called Chaplains though. Unless you're playing Black Templars, then it's exactly what it says on the box (and then some).

Chaplains and marines now do ancestor worship.

Yeah good, I am not the only one who will drop the stubbers for an actual heavy weapon like a heavy bolter or lascannon.

Or for a rad weapon on Admech stuff.

So a lot of Space Marines have sacred reverence for their Primarch and the Emperor- which is much like the concept of Buddhism, where it's less a religion and more of a philosophy that they meditate and reflect on, and try to emulate. To be fair, you could say their adherence to this is everything short of being an actual religion on a technicality, because they don't say "Yeah the Emperor is a God".

Space Marines don't outright discourage the worship of the Emperor, because they understand that it's the one thing holding the Imperium together- even thousands of years of outright civil war can end once the faith calls upon two civilizations to do something about those goddamned heretics drawing dicks on the aquila.

Regular humans, for the most part, see the Astartes as divine beings- closer to the Emperor as a being than the average person, and therefore interpret their behavior as just a variation of the faith at a different level.

Plus, the last Ecclesiarch to push it and try and fuck with Astartes about faith had a legion of power-armored bitches with bolters fanatically defending him before he got stupid- and that's probably not going to happen again.

I want to get off this retcon ride.

So the new Space Marines Codex is giving them a much-needed boost. Looks like all of them will get combat doctrines like Devastator, Tactical, and Assault- basically improving the AP of certain weapons.

Not to mention they're making a system for creating your own chapter of Space Marines.

Since some of the new rules also apply to CSM, my Word Bearers might go from awful to merely bad!

I always thought of Word Bearers as something like Navigators.

You know, they're there in the lore but never really anything you would actually play.

Oh I'd play 'em. I'm a Nurgle fanboy at heart but Lorgar is my favorite Primarch.
