You have to remember that the SJW types are all talentless losers who don't want to so much as lift a finger to get what they want.

You're not going to get them painting, or modelling, and probably not even playing. They don't care about the hobby itself, only its representation. Give them female Space Marines, they'll want female/gay Orks. Give them female/gay Orks, they'll keep going down the list until they find something that counts as wrongthink to them, or they'll make something up. Like how there's too much violence and it needs to be toned down, or how Khorne's blood obsession is frighteningly misogynistic because of menstruation.

These guy know Orks are literally sapient mushrooms, right?

Oh who am I kidding?

Him: Who are the good guys?
Me: There aren't any, just various flavors of jerk.
This was true once but it seems to me now we're expected to just accept the ultramarines as the heroes.

If you want to look at it that way, technically aren't all the orks female? I mean, they have the life cycle of an asexual fungus so in a way, by default, if you don't just ASSUME their gender...

What's the point of teaming with the foul shit that is Marvel? GW has their own imprint and access to most of the "talent" that Marvel does.

On a scarier note, GW is now partnered in a limited fashion with Disney. Yeah, if that doesn't deserve a Horrifying rating, nothing does.

They've always been shortsighted and arrogant dipshits out to finger childrens' wallets and do what they want and fuck the fan's wants. So from that mindset, it legit makes perfect sense to get the Mouse's or its lesser company's money to outreach to all them rich kids they envision.

There are individual heroes, of course, but as a rule? It's pretty much varying flavors of asshole. Even the resurrected Roboute Guilliman is stuck with the colossal monstrosity that is the Ecclesiarchy and he can't get rid of it -- particularly not right now when the shit has hit the fan.
I can't wait for Kate Leth and Zoe Quinn to write about Femme-Marines and quirky Necromunda psykers!
Christ, as if 40k for Kids wasn't bad enough.

The potential Disney stuff does worry me. I believe this partnership may be a long term gamble from Disney. People are tired of cape-shit, Disney has no new ideas, and 40K is becoming a very popular brand...although it's all the side games and books driving the popularity, not the actual hobby itself.

With all of the above mind, if the comics do well, Disney may try some films, and that is where the fear comes in. Disney will make the property "woke", and they will also dumb-down the lore so normies can follow it.

That will kill it stone dead.

The world of WH40K is neither kind, nor just, and not even all that hopeful. The tag line is 'in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war', after all.

I can't for the life of me figure out how you'd mellow things out without completely wrecking it.

Are there other examples of Marvel working with non-Disney licenses in the modern day?

I've never looked into these beyond having seen the cover art. how terrible are they?

Never read one, but the fact that the main character hates weapons and violence makes it the most inappropriate piece of Warhammer media ever. It tells the reader that, in 40k, wars can be settled with words.

No. No they can't.

On the other hand, imagine the crossovers.

Inquisitor: "So, you 'Avengers' claim to be the defenders of humanity, but you ally yourselves with xenos, witches, mutants, and abominable intelligences? Right then, prepare to be purged."

Captain America: "Wait just a second, we--" *BLAM*

Furry Space Pocahontas: "We are the Na'vi, and this is our world, Pandora! It is a majestic place where all life is interconne--"

Space Marine: "Captain, auspex detects significant deposits of adamantium in the crust."

Captain: "Very good. Prepare for cyclonic torpedo bombardment. We'll have the Mechanicus strip-mine the place once we've finished the Exterminatus."

Games Workshop is under intense pressure from special interest groups to include female/gay/bisexual/bigender/woke space marines in their games and books.
What do you think would happen if GW caves to the pressure and decides to go WOKE ? I bet the official cannon would become ... interesting ... to say the least.

Slaanesh already exists; troons can just build an army full of daemonettes and other gender-queer Slaaneshi monters.

I would pay good money to watch a Blood Angel cut down The Avengers, especially after End Game.
