Since Null is threatening to do a flip what better time to show what’s on your tables right now? I’ve just gotten some bastions out that I bought for Horus Heresy games from the pile of shame to work on again.



I’m also getting ready to start work on my kill team board for when lockdown is finally over. This is the layout I have with the terrain I have available. I’m going to be using a 24 x 30 artists canvas for the board but I currently don’t have any elevated levels apart from the two plasma generators on the left.
I’ve positioned things in such a way models should almost always benefit from some kind of cover. I’ll also have some scatter available like ammo crates and barrels to pop around the board and fill the gaps outside of the ruins.

You know, i know it is said a lot in this thread but it would be nice to see some new releases in non-ultra colours for a change, some of these new releases would look better in alternative colour schemes.... not the buggy though, that can't be saved.

This box set should of been themed after the blood Angels there is so much melee.

I think they're Melta Aggressors, worth out the power fists but with the third wound.

Also I see you there Salamander, what are you doing in that Smurf armor.(to be honest though, Arch's hot take that Ultramarines can't be black cause the gene seed makes you a mini clone of the primarch is one of the most exceptional things I've heard from him. Guess they're is no mystery of primogenitor primarch then)

Working on custodes. Rethinking them because host rules trigger my autism of "I can fucking play them as solar watch if they are painted as dread host". So I have been workshopping an OC host just to consolidate my autism. They are the Custodi Janatoriati and their job is to sweep it up.

But in all seriousness Im just gonna paint them normal color scheme, but change the red on the tassles and pauldron to a green. Ill leave the plume normal.

I still have my SM side of Shadow Spear to paint; Im thinking of painting them Red Scorpions or Carcharodons but im bad at freehand and cant find transfer sheets for either Chapter. I also have to paint my Anvilgard Cities of Sigmar army for AOS. lots of gray minis sitting on my shelf

Got no problem with "diverse" skin tones for sisters of silence. However I doubt there'd be more than one black one since they'd just steal worthless baubles for their armor from each other and then kill each other. This late in the game, two is too many.

The gene seed will create changes in appearance, but even then I don't think stuff like the dark hair and pale skin of the Raven Guard or pitch black skin of Vulcan wasn't changing them to look like the primarch, it was a specific fault in the gene seed. Arch was using the example of Little Horus to state that the gene seed makes them all look like their Primarch, rather than Little Horus being special because he looked so much like Horus meaning the rest of the legion did not.

People with a variety of skin tones have always been described in the books and lore just like women have always had roles in the IG, Navy, astropaths, etc. other than not being space marines. Both are a nothingburger and getting excited about skin color or women in those kinds of roles is exceptional and makes you look like the alt-right nahtzee that Sigmarxism thinks you are. We should save our energy for actual serious SJW incursions.

These seem incredibly redundant considering Hellblasters exist.

Now we have two Primaris units with dedicated heat rays. We can't get a daemon unit that can crack open a Rhino, or an updated Blood Knight kit, but here's more Hellblasters. I guess I shouldn't grumble too much, they're being pretty cool to Necron players

The "Sons of Horus" originally referred to a subset of the Luna Wolves who looked like Horus, "Little" Horus Aximand being a strong case of this. It was noted by Loken (who was not in this category) that they tended to climb the chain of command faster (this is all pre-Heresy.) Many Space Marine legions wound up looking like their primarch due to geneseed issues, it's not said but it's implied that this is even more the case with the Luna Wolves though.

The renaming of the Legion was as @Love_Machine011 says to reflect Horus becoming Warmaster. It was offered by the Emperor at Ullanor but Horus declined, he only accepted the name "Sons of Horus" after the events at Davin and the beginning of his fall to Chaos.
