look at the amount of paint you get in those packs and compared it to full sized paint, they like to fuck people over.
it's not that bad iirc, it's mainly the selection and type of paint that's included, not
some overly jewish tactics (scratch that, I was too hopeful, although it might just be usual gw incompetence). like one starter I remember had 3 shades of the same color and/or orange for some reason while missing some other essentials you'd need for well-rounded starter or even mix missing ones.
I'd be more concerned about the "buy-in" scheme, lot of people don't branch out and tend to stick to their paints because they know how to handle it and don't wanna get used to other paints, least that's my experience.
I'd recommend like every hobby you wanna go into you need to do your own research, it's even easier now with the shitload of reviews and yt channels out there. seriously there's so much shit out there I can't even find the very good review I wanted to link (but it's a few years old so prolly outdated by now anyway). however you gotta take everything with a grain of salt (although it's pretty easy if someone's outright shilling), there's always some bias involved, consciously or subconsciously and most people only recommend what they know, so you'll see a lot more citadel/AP stuff out there. everybody needs to figure out what works for himself.

it'll be the day when companies realise that you give these fucks an inch they will take everything, when said day comes? anybodies fucking guess at this point.
stop buying their shit would be a start, be the change you want to be (I know plenty of people will keep giving them money so it won't really make a difference, but at least you followed your own principles. and word of mouth etc is still a thing, like most trends it takes normies a while to catch up).
