As someone who primarily collects Tyranids, Daemons and GSC, there's very little light to be found in this edition thus far. I'm basically sitting out 40k entirely until things get better, although considering Tyranids have been shit for over a decade now, it might not get better.
I mean Chaos Daemons got boring as shit when they lost their deep strike fun in 6th Ed.

We have options though

  1. We could play non-broken factions. I know other Eldar and Drukhari players. I'm also talking to some buddies who play DG, IG and Nids. We think we could have little league using 9th edition rules and just leave the SM guys play each other.
  2. Since narrative got fucked up by the whole "crusade" shit, maybe play 8th edition narrative and skip the new stuff altogether.
  3. Tough it out and just embrace the suck until (the unlikely) CAs or new codexes drop.
The good thing about this hobby is nobody's forcing you to suffer through hours of WAAC primaris shitheads, you get to pick your opponents and make up fluff about it.

Joining a No Homers Club that minimizes SM contact would indeed be a hoot. It would even be fluffy, since they're actually one of the tiniest factions in the galaxy.

That said, the way things look now, the only remaining decent units for Nids are Zoanthropes and Neurothropes. Those Nidzilla lists that GW has been trying to hype up are still built around Monster units that hit on 4+. I've given up on Daemons entirely, GW has no idea what to do with them and I don't think they really care.

So now that War of the Spider confirmed Chaos Primaris. How long till we get rules?

Don't know.
I would keep an eye out for a boxset, though.
Chaos fags can thank us later.

They did? Are you referring to the Brazen Drakes? Their primaris reinforcements were slaughtered by the Custodes because the firstborn chapter went rouge.
Some of them escaped and became the shriven, got the hook up from fabius.

As far as I heard, Bile is studying the Primaris, bit no confirmation of them being a thing yet.

Personally I hope they are Black Legion's thing, and they continue on tbe track that Thousand Sons and Death Guard have of each traitor Legion having their own flavor of Astartes, with the Emporer's Children getting it next with Fulgrim's new model and expansion of the Noise Marines. Have the butcher's nails become demons and give the World Eaters something more than just Khorne Berserkers, have the Iron Warriors get more tech Hersey stuff like the Obliterator virus.

I don't know what to do with the Word Bearers, just squat them, #lorgardideverythingwrong

Rubrics are cool...

Word Bearers should be able to take Possessed as troops and synergize with daemons since they're the ones who are up to their eyeballs with Chaos.

I would buy more of them if there were a simple and convenient way to just trade the SM half to get double the other side. Or at least, something that didn't involve shit like eBay.
Shit man I'd split them with yo

The Brazen Drakes got screwed

>looking for BA assault terminator bits to pimp up my bladeguard
>Literally nothing

I got the shoulder pads, I really don't want to buy a box of assault terminators just for their chest shields.

The Shriven were entirely firstborn and they were all killed so that Bile could escape.

Though this could be the first step to chaos primaris, you can run chaos primaris today, you’d just have to play them as normal marines.

And that's ultimately what's going to happen. Eventually, when they get around to Black Legion again, they'll make a new basic (as opposed to one of the 4 gods flavoured) CSM kit, and said CSM kit will probably be Primaris Scale.

It's almost funny just how hard the last 2 books of PA were paved over. WotS actually had good rules in it tho. Pariah seems like a massive nothing burger. Sure we can blame it on the 'rona. But still.
