I absolutely love this image, literally a famous historical shitpost.

About Girlyman saying that recuitment with high fatality waste, it depends on the tests in question. Being indoctrinated and trained won't necessarily make you loyal or a good fighter, you need to have the basic aptitude for both in order to be a good SM, and tests with actual risks can push candidates to the limit. That being said, some of the tests are literally luck based missions, death battles that are likely to kill good candidates by the strongest warrior, or ones that are counter productive to having a functioning warrior (like having the candidates form a team and then telling them to kill each other in order to advance forward. WTF).

"Gotta be ready to kill your brothers who turn to Chaos".

Just what was recruitment like for the legions during the Great Crusade? It seems like policy went to shit afterwards, the Iron Warriors were able to replace losses pretty fast, and the Lion basically found a whole other half of his legion just sitting on Caliban after sending 500 to garrison it and speed up recruitment. So, I guess Guilliman isn't wrong, and I think even Dante questioned Sanguinius' choice to leave Baal a radioactive shithole.

Just bought my Mhara Gal Dreadnought (one of the most expensive things on my Word Bearers list), but as I was checking out I noticed that the Contemptor Plasma Cannons are out of stock.
Hopefully, the Word Bearer Contemptors don't go out of stock in the coming weeks.

That actually reminds me a plot that always bothered me. A good percentage of the most legendary and powerful SM were from terra or from the very first batches of SM created on the primarch's world. You'd think that, statistically, once the chapters start recuiting from entire planets then the quality would soar up.

Guard fags. Whats the best leman russ configs for the korps?

No idea, especially with rule changes in 9th. Apparently blast weapons got better. Just be sure to magnetize.

On another note, let's play with fiber optics:

Hollowed out lights. If it works, should look nice with some clear lenses over them.

That whole "You just wanna be Emperor" deal got... terribly resolved in the aftermath of the Imperium Secundus, but since Daddy is just a corpse on a throne right now G-Man taking his job as Supreme Ruler of Mankind is quite possibly the least-bad outcome. The Lion's always been a suspicious, mistrusting narrow-minded autist, but I doubt he'll back the High Lords over his brother. "Hey, bro, you know that Great Crusade deal to free mankind from ignorance and all that? Look what the Adeptus Terra has done in our absence. By Terra, Horus was wrong about everything except what they'd do to our father's vision." G-Man would panic, realize he just praised Horus in front a dude who's probably got Semper Fidelis branded on his chest, get laid out in a single punch by the Lion and wake up to a terrible stumbling non-apology because the Lion is a fucking autist.

As to Russ... "I've been fighting daemons and other shit in the Warp for 10,000 years. I'm going to need like... 100,000 beers. Literally, 100,000 beers. I'm not dealing with politics sober, and unless I get some mjod and right fucking now I'm just going to head back to the Eye."
Whenever a Primarch shows back up to prevent shit from starting Guilliman's first and only thing he says should be "Go to Terra, talk to dad." He should just keep repeating it until they actually do it.

But that would kill off the competence of the Imperium of Mankind.

...Plus, we wouldn't get freaks like Asmodai and Cato Sicarius.

Remember when people were saying "Come on, GW won't pander to China that much"

Welcome to GW's future marketing strategies.
Seriously though, how much do you wanna bet it's a bunch of broken finecast garbage they just wanted to offload, knowing scalpers would eat this stuff up immediately.

I'm more interested if this is why suddenly everything went out of stock and last chance.

I mean if I could pick my faction or something that would be one thing. Paying $120 for $240 worth of say, Space Marines or AdMech or what have you is a significantly different proposition than paying $120 and getting $10 of Orks, $25 Eldar, $60 Dark Eldar...

The whole 40k price model is based on SM. Once you go off the reservation, the prices get harder to defend. A few points worth of Daemons costs more than a substantially larger points cost worth of SM, and there isn't a good excuse to a new player as to why.

Depends on the planet and the legion. The Night Lords went to shit because they recruited mainly from Curze's homeworld of Nostramo after he was recovered, and since Nostramo was a wretched hellhole that Curze hadn't bothered fixing in any substantive way, all the recruits were psychopaths and murderers, and their tendencies were only encouraged by the VIII Legion's usual tactics. Same went for the Sons of Horus; Cthonia was a planet of technobarbarian gangs, so most of the Cthonian recruits were gangbangers who believed that might makes right and disdained anyone they regarded as weak and inferior. Good for making a legion of effective killers, bad if you want that legion to someday be anything other than killers, which was a problem that only Guilliman really saw coming. As for the World Eaters, it didn't really matter where they came from once the Butcher's Nails were a thing.

God, redditors are so damn slow at responding.

They act like they want to buy something, then just let it stew for like 2 days. Just say yeah or no, or say any questions and be done with it.

Or they don't respond to an offer they made, only to say later (once you remind them) that they found something else. Fuckin just say so. Is that a common thing online?

I think Guilliman wasn't saying you can't have trials but that given the current state of the rift/Imperium the Adeptus Astartes can't be throwing away decent recruits on rituals.

If anyone has recruitment figured out its the Salamanders. Marines are transhuman but need to still be rooted to humanity

Honestly, I think that this is something I'd be willing to buy if I was out of things to build. I always like to do kit-bashing and so this would inspire me to really think out of the box. And while it would be really odd, GW might want to do a box with both AoS and 40k in it, could give players who play only one game to branch out to the other.
