Actually, that would be an interesting idea. A lootbox that is just an extended start collecting + codex (with the code to unlock said codex in the app), maybe a mini-rulebook -- but for a random faction. Maybe with a little info card assigning a random subfaction, too, so you might get a lootbox that has Craftworld Eldar in it, and inside said box would have a card detailing the Biel Tan, or even a basic paint kit for them.

So just make it a starter set then?
Its almost like this whole premise was a terrible idea from conception.
Besides the fact that judging from the contents, this seems like a flagrant attempt to get rid of shit taking up space in the warehouse. Which is what I suspected from the start tbh. But really this is the worst way to get people starting a new army. @agility_ is never going to walk into a game shop and say "you know what I am gonna buy a pack of atalan jackals." at random.

If you wanted people to start a new army, do a monthly system. Like each month is a different army and for that month the start collecting box and 2 boxes of units are 50% off. Easy, thats a deal that anyone mildly interested would be eager to take. Each month you change it and never have repeats till you go through every faction.

Its their way of making room for new stock and its cool for painters and collectors. If theyre fixed boxes by region, its not a gamble. Theyre supply drops not an entire battalion. Dont think about it so hard.

Let there be light:

Waiting for my larger orange LEDs to show up for better fiber coverage.

I'm hearing the Aussies got a fucking knight, shrike, khan, scouts with sniper rifles, and scouts.
How could the Brits get so fucked on the loot box shit? Id kinda be interested in trying my luck on a US box. But I have a terrible gambling habit.

>US Box

Uhhh.... about that...
North America hasn't got one (yet?).

Anyways, I'm pleased with recent developments as they make Firstborn Marines viable and the Chaos Space Marines get a MUCH NEEDED buff.
The only thing that ruins my mood is that some things on my wishlist are out of stock again.

Sigmarxism and the culture warriors finally got the attention of the Lefty Journo Clique to get some signal boosting assistance in their ongoing efforts to force GW to capitulate to them. Looks like it was supreme leftyfag and C-list Warhammer youtuber Leakycheese, which Arch has been mocking recently, who might have got Vice's attention.

How's that old saying go? You may not be interested in the culture war bullshit, but it turns out the culture war bullshit is interested in you?

I hope this project of yours lives up to the hype.
Eh, it's nothing too special. I hate painting so much that I'd rather turn lights into a fiber optic learning experience. Some people like the painting aspect of the hobby, some like the sperging about lore, I'm here for the modeling/ designing.

The printing is letting me be able to make ideas a reality one step at a time instead of potentially wrecking expensive ass plastic.

I recommend driving them at a lower current or using PWM. They're really bright right now and I don't think you want them glowing from the inside everywhere.
I plan on placing clear lenses to diffuse the effect from the front. As for interior glow, paint will be taking care of that. The led won't leak any as I'll have it heat tube shrunk to the filaments.

Its really disappointing they didn't even use the God Emperor Trump version for this picture. Vice can't do anything right can they?

Fucking appropriate they used the Sigmar units you get in the cheapest possible starter box to represent those fighting to make 40k progressive. It's a perfect satire of the trope of people from outside a community trying to force their politics into said community.

It's clear they just went to the GW homepage and had no idea what they were actually drawing. They seem to think SCE wear hats and crowns instead of masks.

Of course, the irony of extreme politics being combated by a group called Sigmarxism is entirely lost on Vice.

There's something I've noticed when dealing with lefties in the culture war, ever since the start of GamerGate, when I was in the far lefty bubble but got expelled for questioning the narrative.

Basically, lefties -- especially extreme lefties -- don't believe something like "Sigmarxism" is political. They certainly don't see it as extreme political. Lefties don't see their own politics as political viewpoints. To them, it's "being a good person" or some smug as fuck variant therein.

Basically, it's religious views. They worship their own moral superiority. It's why they have no qualms in trying to destroy people that disagree with them, it's why they have no qualms about lying through their teeth if it serves their interests, it's why they have no qualms about trying to "fix" every hobby and fandom they enter.

They literally cannot comprehend that someone of good moral character would ever disagree with them, and they certainly can't comprehend the mental reasoning behind people who do. No, literally -- Righties understand Leftists (but disagree with them), but Lefties have no fucking idea how righties think. It's a complete and utter lack of empathy on a scale I don't think many appreciate. (Edit: And here's the scary thing -- that same utter lack of empathy? It's a primary symptom of Sociopaths.)

It's why you can have a forum that has explicit rules against political crap and still have to deal with leftyfags bringing it up all the goddamned time. Because to them, Marxism and Leftist Politics and constant activism and the like isn't political, it's "common sense" and "being a good person." But if you tell them to shove it, that is suddenly political. And if, god forbid, you support a center, center-right, right, or even far right stance, that's not merely political, it's not merely hate speech, it's heresy against leftism.

Bringing it back to Warhammer 40k, these types literally cannot understand why someone would ever joke around as an Inquisitor ranting about Heresy. They cannot understand why anyone wouldn't be outrageously offended at the idea of "Fascism" being the "Good Guys." And the concept of people opposing their efforts to "fix" the setting is completely incomprehensible to them, to the extent that they have to make up some cartoon NaziFascist in their mind to explain it.
