Night Lords and Iron warriors are the only ones that aren't completely pathetic. I would say the black legion, but THIRTEEN black crusades.

Black Ultramarines are just kinda silly, but I get why they wanted a "generic" CSM force.

I always liked the idea of a Sons of Malice CSM force with Malal-corrupted versions of the various other god units. For example, Noise Marines with Malal's insignia replacing the Slanneshi icons. Khorne Bloodletters in chains and broken horns. That sort of thing.

The Cleaved is also a kinda neat idea, I suppose.

http://mirandairene.co/ is the one I keep hearing suggested. Haven't done an order yet.

I went through http://all4wargames.com/ once and it was fine. No tracking, which was annoying. I found them because GW DMCA'd their search results; I was trying to find which bolters go on what HH power armor variants, and saw the DMCA notice at the bottom of the Google results.

Are these two any good, Chinese or Slav?

Blacktramarines are fine, but no matter what youll never get over the THIRTEEN crusades memes. Chaos space marines always feel somewhat more restricted then the space marine range.

All4Wargames was Russian, and the one test order was great. I haven't done anything with Miranda Irene yet but /tg/ has mentioned them a few times. They are definitely Chinese. I suppose I could do a quick test order -- for science.

ironic given all the freaky shit that the warp has/can do to minds and technology if exposed long enough, and yet CSM are still lagging behind.

Don't forget being lead by Abaddon the 'Armless who can not only fail terribly at conquering the Imperium, but constantly misplace his limbs.

I read Soul Hunter 2 years ago and Talos pointed out that Failbaddon lost thirteen crusades, Failbaddon rebuked with "Y-you don't know if I achieved of my true goals during those crusades". Even after all this time I STILL remember it vividly.
I was so blown away by that cope I had to stop reading for the day. That fuck Talos is a fucking chad.

Finally settling on a Word Bearer color scheme that I like has pulled me back into 40k somewhat. Black pauldrons really helped.

What colors are you using? Are you modeling your Word Bearers after a particular warband?

Their colors are sort of like 30k Word Bearers after they ditched their silver and went officially heretical. One of the layers of paint is Vallejo Flat Brown, which is kinda reddish to begin with.

Oh, ok. So Heresy-era Word Bearers.
You made it seem you were doing something extravagant like The Sanctified:

I just recently received all of my paints I was going to use for my Word Bearers and I plan on assembling the first batch soon.
Fun times.

No, nothing impressive. I'm just very particular, and I didn't want My Guys to look like World Eaters.

When in doubt, just slap a bunch of seals and parchments on them.
Word Bearers love them parchments.

Khorne... specific... Word Bearers. That's odd.

Would be nice to see stuff like that though; splinter factions of the CSM factions that don't follow the "rules."

Just got past that scene in the audiobook omnibus. The way Abaddon slowly gets more & more sick of Talos' shit talking is brilliant. The voice acting is also top class which helps, probably the best in any audiobook I've listened to.

The way the Night Lords treat their slaves & acted in general was also a huge surprise. They're nowhere near as edgy & retarded as in some other portrayals (fucking Pharos).

So, to my eternal damnation, I bought my first WH40k mini and it's Cypher.

I think Cypher has a version of the Anathame, considering that Rawbutt Girlyman didn't let him near the Emperor and tried to have him arrested. Plus, that arrest set up a greater problem in the shape of the Dark Angels trying to extract the Fallen from the 'impossible' jail in Terra.

We're being set up for a five-way war.

The best part is that you can buy Dark Angels units and paint them as The Fallen.
