IF probably have the best over all line up of interesting successors as well. BA have the problem of a lot of them being samey for obvious reasons, sans the the lamenters and flesh tearers. No one actually cares about Smurf successors. Space wolves have 1 active, which was a retarded choice lore wise. All the other legion successors are woefully under represented.

The most hilarious part is that traitor legion loyalist successors get more play then a lot of loyalist legion succeors.

But besides the rambling, IF have a lot going on, but people don't pay attention to them because they don't sperg the fuck out like space wolfs, and aren't marketed to shit like Ultramarines. Which is a shame and a bit confusing.
Now wait the Mortificators are cool and are oddly an Ultramarine successors. It’s like a chapter full of tribal cannibals who eat human and xeno alike but oddly follow the codex to a T. Throw in a skull motif to the extreme and they refer to the emperor as the “Ultimate Warrior”

though their ultramarine cousins consider them very odd

Exception to the rule.

And lets be real, codex compliance might as well read as "we are cuckolds".

The Fists are my favorite legion/chapter pretty much for the reasons everyone else seems to find them boring; they're the guys who are quietly doing their jobs behind the scenes and generally holding the line while the Smurfs and the Wolves and the Blood Angels are out getting all the glory. They may not be flashy or glamorous, but they get the job done and the Imperium would be boned without people like them. Likewise with Dorn. He was a stubborn dick, but he was damned good at his job. Terra would have folded like wet cardboard without him.
You just described the IG by the way.
This is how lame Hufflepuff and the blueberries are. Constantly trying to justify their existence through humble-gloryhogging or god knows how many horrible novels. At the very least I can say playing against the Space Corgis is interesting due to their specialties.

Bad Books? You never read Uriel Ventris and how much better the Ultramarine 4th company is compared to 2nd.

Can you believe it? Gamesworkshop managed to actually give 3 similar units their own niches that you arent putting yourself at a massive disadvantage for picking one or the other. Could this be.... balance? Balance between Astartes and Primaris? Holy shit.

its weird because as soon as I bought a box of BA terminators, this popped up in my sub box.

Yeah from 8th Rules I was heavily considering Aggressors, now I'm not so sure. Probably skip all three for eradicators.

I don't know if I went over how interesting the Hexmark is. It seems designed to chew up GEQs. 6 separate Pistol 1 Strength 6 AP-1 D1 attacks. Ignores covers and any modifiers to hit roll it Ballistic Skill, BS2+, rerolls 1 to hit on every attack. Any units killed trigger another attack, Overwatches on a 2+. Seems tailor made to chew up Boys or Guardsman. So that's 6 shots that hit on a 2 built in rerolling 1s, wound on a 2 vs guardsman, 3 vs boys, and each successful hit in the first wave triggers another shot. On top of that, you get another round at no detriment if the boys charge you and you spend for the overwatch.

Finally used my sprues for something, even a small wall took a bunch of plastic to be made but I was gonna throw that shit out anyway. Pretty useful for poorhammering

Post results I love sprue hammer.

In the grim darkness of the far future there's only uneven bricks. It looks just bad enough that it can pass off as the broken down remains of a structure.

To be fair, those were written during the era of Peak Ward, and He, Cato Sicarius still gets a... somewhat non-crappy depiction that's better than deserved at that point in time. Yes, the dude's an arrogant dickbag who can be rather careless with the lives of his men, but he actually gets the job done and rather efficiently if you aren't the poor sons of bitches used as bait.

I went to my LGS today. They had a Stalker/Hunter tank in the used bin. It was still in the box but beat to absolute shit. The guy said someone traded it in. The box was taped shut and the guy was like "Cant confirm its all there". For $29 bucks I said fuck it. Got home and its still on the fucking sprees! I got a new tank for half off just bc the box was beat to fuck.

Also my scampon spoils came in and I have to take a minute to ree about how shifty the new back of box design in.

Here is my pre new logo Impulsor box:

Not talking about the model but the layout here is fucking kino. You have weapon names labeled, paint guide and the gold header. Great fucking stuff.

Now here is the repulsor I got today:

This is straight fucking generic trash. No labels. No paint guide. You can tell GW is leaning into the chink market bc this layout reeks of "no language needed" ready for global distribution bullshit.

I never thought I'd care about boxes but here we are.

I don't have my copy of the codex, but some of the new successor chapters look cool. I just find it hilarious that the salamanders successors are
A)wannabe word bearers and literal book burners
B) wanna be minotaurs, but answer to crawl
C) a chapter that spent a little too much time hanging with blood angels.
D) captain ahab

The krakens are my favorite tho.

Oh, c'mon!
Cawl's not even trying with the Covenant of Fire!
They even use the Heresy Era Word Bearer iconography!
